From what I understand the correct way to install in to spray lube on the filter O ring then install. Then you spray the outside of the rubber boot to lubricate it along with its O ring seal. You then install the boot onto the pump over the filter. This boot is a frost protection boot to stop freezing. Then you install the housing to finish it off. The outside of the boot is lubricated so the housing spins freely around the frost boot and doesn’t damage the rubber boot and seals.

Thanks for showing us how to change DEF filter. . My 2014 freightliner has 841,000 and runs very well. Is there any other small but necessary jobs to help keep it running well.

Amigo como esta...tengo problemas con el regen ...cambie filtros del DPS ...todoooo...y sigue igual...me toca hacer el regen cada 2 dias ...y hace 2 semanas q lo hago 2 veces al dia cada 2 dias....nunca he cambiado ese filtro...si lo cambio eso me puede ayudar?...tengo un cascadia 2014

I recently just purchased a 2016 FREIGHTLINER Cascadia. The first week of driving the amber light, check engine light and def is flashing. Took it back to the dealership and all they did was do regen and troubleshoot. A few days later same thing happened. It been 3 times already and the dealership don’t know what’s wrong with it. What’s ur unput?

Low compression.
It is possible that it has a cylinder that is not holding the pressure.

200 k - 300 k is fine. It can last more.

It’s yogurt 100k miles is best to replace. And every 100k miles clean 7th injectors. I do this to all mytrucks
