Take both filters off find a good pressure washer spray all that black soot out takes about an hour..I reassembled everything back with new clamps it’s been over a year never had anymore issues..🙂
What codes did it have prior?

The code says ash filter capacity reached but it gets triggered when the filters are totally clogged and need cleaning..I’ve pressure washed my original filters 3 times since owning the the truck not any problem yet..But if you want the yellow dash light off you will need to have a mechanic with the software to do that..
Best to get reman filters at the dealer instead of getting your filters cleaned. It costs more but you don't risk having you filters cracked during cleaning. TA cracked both of mine so I had to pay for the cleaning that cracked them, then go buy remans at the dealer. And of course the dealer wouldn't take the cracked ones as a core exchange. I should have just bought remans to begin with.

The way I "cleaned" my DD15 filters was to remove them, pressure wash them, then take a sharrp1/3 inch wood drill bit and drill about 30 holes in each filter. Still has backpressure so the soot sensor will see a pressure drop but not too much and will think the filters are clean...BAM...you got a MUCH better running truck. Also consider bypassing the 7th injector so if it ever does call for a "regen" it will think it is regening but its not. it cant with no diesel and the 1/2 inch holes are too big to clog up. Even if they did clog up spend a saturday cleaning them out.

@@davidfs.6233 YES the ceramic DOC and DPF. I ended up removing the downstream sensor from the exhaust to clear air and plugging the sensor hole with a bad sensor. The sensor sees clear air as cleaner and thinks its working. I used two long hose clamps to attach the sensor the the OUTSIDE of the exhaust pipe right next to the sensor hole so that the sensor sense heat of the pipe and reads no NOX as the DPF working.
@@davidfs.6233 Drill in both but remember, they are pricey if you ever want to replace them they aint cheap. I have just pulled my filter and DOC and had them cleaned at shop in the past. They charged me $200. You could also take them to a machine shop and ask them to run them in their block cleaner

I seen shops that can push the scr filters back & still can be cleaned without replacing the box.

I also agreed get the reman filters I bought them at freightliner in Orlando for $750 a piece 2 years ago. Better than sending them to get cleaned cause it could take a few days to get them back.

All well and good until you get caught. Not to mention once you delete the system dealerships are "technically" not allowed to work on them anymore.
@@foltzenlogel the fines are cheaper the the repair also, many dealer will work on it as long as it has nothing to do with emissions and when you own the truck the dealer is the last place I want to bring it. Once it’s delete the truck will be less likely to brake down anyway
Is 1.4 doc inlet pressure bad? I put used dpf filters and I don’t know if these dpf filters are bad or if the doc is gone and bad

@@la2toronto789 1.4 is bad for all years. Your DOC is clogged. Faceplug cleaning is necessary.
@@nattydreadlocks1973 spoke to a DPF specialist and he keeps saying everything is fine, I recommended a DOC clean and we ran regen and I noticed the 1.4 pressure, I am not sure how it finished at the end of the regen, but I was still concerned and he said no you don’t need it, the numbers look alright.
If the doc is plugged could that be throwing the nox conversion low? Or what are symptoms of bad doc?

Why are the SCR filters not sold as a separate item?
It is combined in the one box. You see the bottom cylinders. That is it
I guess my question is why not make them separate pieces like the dpf since the one box itself is such an expensive part.

Don’t leave the truck on idle. It produces more soot.
