  • Hybrid action! Is it worth the extra cost? Or would you go with a gas powered one? Thank you to Hyundai of Trenton for allowing the channel access to this vehicle for review.

Your review was good but you omitted a lot of great features that are selling points for this hybrid vehicle. 1. The rear seats are also heated. 2. The vehicle can be programmed to where the tailgate can open by itself if the vehicle is locked and you approach it with keyfob in your possession. 3. The car battery is located in the rear cargo area on the left side near the sub-woofer. 4. The wipers when set in automatic wipers, operate whenever any amount of rain falls, automatically. 5. The back seats recline. 6. You can adjust the tailgate to open slow or fast, and adjust the height you want it to open. 7. When in reverse, a beeping sound will come on and stay on as long as the vehicle is in reverse. It cannot be turned off, as this is a feature to warn others around you that may not see or hear you, as most all the time, the vehicle is in EV mode, meaning there is no engine noise to be heard at all when backing. As soon as you put it in Drive, the beeping sound turns off. 8. Lumbar support for driver is a 4 way system..in and out, up and down. Most vehicles only have a 2 way system. I love my Hybrid Santa Fe. I have a 2022. There is virtually no difference with the 2023. My only concern is getting a flat tire, with that tire mobility kit. If it happens, I'm calling Hyundai Blu-Link or AAA !

I've had mine for 6 months & just realized it beeps when in reverse! I also forget that it has ventilated seats. all in all it has plenty of space, my big faults with all models of Mazdas!

I just bought the Santa Fe Limited HEV and it does have heated rear seats.

Great review...I have the same vehicle and trim in Portofino gray, and have to say it's a great mid-sized suv, great mpg for the size and very comfortable, and the features on the limited trim are outstanding. Glad I got this model before they introduce the new shape which is going to be a boxier design like a Defender...Not a fan.

I agree with you about the need for wireless Apple CarPlay. However, you alluded to the fact that the wired version can’t be used if the phone is in the charger. Can you not put your phone in with the connector up? I just bought my Santa Fe Hybrid Limited on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to explore it much since I came down with Covid the next day. This is my sixth Hyundai and my third Santa Fe. I’m looking forward to driving it!

I loved the review, well paced and covered everything that would be of interest to a prospective buyer. I would like to point out one thing that you might have mis-stated, I believe the hybrid models don't have a spare like the ICE ones do. That little boxy thing sitting inside the rear storage area is the air compressor. That and some fix-a-flat is what they give you for the event you have a flat. One other observation, just to nit pick, I've kept my privacy screens up in my 2013 Santa Fe Sport 95% 0f the time without any loss of tension.
I'm torn between this or the Calligraphy, with their dismay record of the 2.0T failures holding me back from buying the 2.5T for fear of another engine failure away from home. That, and the fact that my local dealer is tacking an addional 2K markup on his Santa Fe's.

    Great review man!
I have an SEL Premium Hybrid and whenever someone first calls me while I have wired carplay going, it freezes for a bit. For example, if I am looking at google maps, and I answer a phone call, it goes to the call screen and doesn't switch to google maps when I tap on it.
Can you test and verify if you're getting that.

No way this is a compact. Tucson and rav4 is compact.

2023 and USB A? Hyundai needs new design employees. USB C is standard now.
