Of course the military can call it anything THEY decide to after switching some components out. This HMMWV was originally built by AM General as a M-998 prior to calendar year 1988 when the original type (most dangerous) C.A.R.C. paint was still being used. . Yes, it does look very clean and well cared for ...perhaps you can thank a "1st Lieutenant Banda" for that as this was his ride!
Looking good
Oh - and you are exactly correct about the 12 volt system. I even run my winch of 12 volt that same way in rig.
Tire bleach works wonders on that military paint and also on the tires themselves I learned with mine
Cleaned up really nice!
I was hoping to see more videos of your HMMWV.
Me waiting to see how this build came out

That’s a nice seat upgrade! A couple sheets of plywood would still be better than the original.
Thomas Edison called…he wants his multimeter back! ;)
How much was it?
Would you consider selling and shipping that rear cargo canvas and frame brackets to Alaska?
Is it street legal AS-IS? You can register and get a plate for it?
It depends on the state you live in, there is a bunch of red tape to jump through. But where there is a will, there’s a way lol.
Dirt Legal does a great job with these getting a street tag - not cheap...but they can do it.
@@stewiesgarage1750 How long did it take to get it? After you purchased it.
