I like SEUS more because of it's realism, also to mention that it's not an Ray Tracing option official from Nvidia, it's still just a shader with path tracing effect, and it still looks amazing.
The main difference between SEUS and RTX is that SUES just uses shaders to simulate RT effects with brute force, while the RTX version uses RT cores to calculate the output via path tracing using designated hardware. Which means that technically at least, the RTX version would always be more accurate and efficient. As for which one "looks good", is entirely a subjective matter.
Main drawback for the bedrock rtx version is the time it takes to update the light because it's all raytraced. When closing a door, or breaking a block it takes a while for it to essentially render, and you can see all the little grains of light update. Really undesirable for gameplay.

Minecraft RTX does bring some realism but I feel it is WAY too exaggerated with certain things like some surfaces being too reflective and in some scenarios I feel like it makes stuff way too bright and the gamma is like when you max out the gamma on the old minecraft xbox one edition; it changes the colours and makes them look washed out. The thing I do appreciate about RTX though is how well it does shadows and that one scene in the bedroom with the large window and the lantern had those areas that're brighter where the sun comes in just like what happens in real life. TLDR; I really like both Seus Ptgi and RTX and the realism they bring to the game, but I feel that RTX exaggerates stuff too much and can make stuff too bright, which also affects the colours, making them look washed out.

To answer this video's question: 9 times out of ten I picked...Minecraft Bedrock RTX. It looked so much more natural in most cases and so much better at improving the feeling of a room. The reflections are on point and the PBR makes it look so much better. Also, I'm pretty sure that Bedrock RTX is more optimized. I wish I could run Bedrock RTX, but unfortunately I do not have a good enough graphics card. SEUS would also destroy my computer anyway.
I prefer Minecraft RTX because it keeps the shading Minecraft-y if that makes sense. Sues is more for if you want it to look realistic, which looks nice but is unnecessary for the type of game Minecraft is. Sometimes simplicity is great.
stone looks like epoxy in RTX but in PTGI it looks like real rock. i kinda hate RTX because it makes some blocks look like they covered in baby oil but overall i like RTX lighting more
rtx makes it too vibrant for reality but it does fit the minecraft style more than seus so if you're going for realism go seus if youre just going for minecraft but looking better go rtx
Use PTGI, its free now and works on non RTX capable cards (tho you still need a good card) also its the lightest Path Tracing shader available (all others need better cards)
It should also be noted the renderer differences. Java is still running on OpenGL as upgrading to Vulcan would alienate a large portion of the playerbase who are still on older systems. But Windows 10 edition, which is how you use RTX, is able to run on modern renderers
I am playing Java Edition with Seus PTGI on my RTX 4080 Super in native 1440p & it's absolutely amazing, I'm getting pretty stable 120-150 frames per second. :)
I mean, considering Bedrock RTX only works best on PC, with things like the switch not able to really run it, SEUS PTGI is better by contrast, since even though it's locked to java edition, which is PC only, you can use it with Java edition mods and modpacks.
You can play Minecraft RTX with add-on (In mcpedl for free) and I don't know what do you mean by "with things like the switch not able to really run it". But it's true that the Seus PTGI is supported on more GPU than Minecraft RTX (and RTX come also with a lot of bugs like: crashes, weird rainbow colors screen, everything reflective for some reason, the dev must be very tired of adding millions of things every update lol). But with dlss Minecraft RTX have a huge difference in performance, 70 fps on Seus ptgi hrr and 90 fps for Minecraft RTX. And dlss is way less blurry than the classic TAA upscaling that use the Seus PTGI.
@@captainrick4513 Oh my Bad ! But it's normal since the Switch doesn't have rt cores, and for the ps5 and Xbox series X/S i don't know why it's not working .
rtx has better lighting, but i don't like how night time looks and water style and rtx has way too much fog for my liking, hopefully those should be customizable.
In my personal experience with both id say that seus is fantastic but obviously limited whereas rtx is a fully utilised ray traced experience I just use both interchangeably
Just btw Seus Ptgi isnt RTX-enabled, if it would, it would have texture reflecting the image itself by tracing rays (which it clearly doesnt) it's just having some good shading and basic light rays which are included in most of minecraft shaders that doesn't look like a sandwich that went bad for more than a month :)
Oh it does, you just need a PBR texture pack. Doesn't come with it by default but you can still admire a bit of it. Another plus is that you don't need an RTX card. I do have a 3050 but i can tell you that DirectX Ray tracing wouldn't run as good on it (unless the game has DLSS)
The SEUS E Family is So RayTraced and magical. but a new era of HRR Has come and now its time to make minecraft look so realistic as real life with HRR shaders in the future.....
RTX has more reflective surfaces, but that can be both a good and bad thing in my opinion (makes everything look wet). Seus has softer lighting in general, but can be darker at times. All in all, I think it's still up to personal preference. Edit: RTX also adds depth to blocks, but you can probably achieve a similar result with something like Vanilla PBR.
i was gonna say its kinda unfair how the rtx pack has reflective textures because rtx comes as part of a resource pack. im pretty sure you can do the same in java with the right textures. speculor textures or something like that.
For darkly lit scenes ptgi wins by miles. Rtx gives the scene too much light for the light source but ptgi makes the scene look like it's lit in real life. Rtx doesn't look good with soft lighting so for example if a cloud is covering the sun it looks unnatural which forces a "summer/hot day" look. Ptgi takes the light bouncing to a whole other level which means if it's a cloudy day and you're indoors with a window open you get that cozy look to the room because of the soft light from outside. I'm largely oversimplifying but if you take rtx and ptgi and recreate the scene in real life ptgi wins.
RTX: for you if you want good high quality reflections and plenty of light and frams Seus Ptgi: for you if you want a darker feel, and you dont want it to be too reflecty
It's because on RTX they are using PBR textures. Some texturepacks have PBR maps to make. 3D illusion or reflections. SEUS ptgi can have those reflections too, if you're just using the texturepack with PBR in it.
My main problem with shaders, especially Seus, was that they tried to look "Realistic" at the expense of looking good, or at the expense of looking like Minecraft. Minecraft RTX was less full fledged than I liked. (Seemed like it was more made for the demo, since not all light blocks even give off light with it on), but it at least really genuinely looks like minecraft, and has good colors. Seus looks like a raytracing verison of Seus. (it is ofcs) I'd take RTX if it was full fledged, and on Java. But for now, I use "Rethinking Voxels" and absolutely LOVE it. Plus, way better performance than Sues or RTX, with no real quality compromise.
And one thing Seus didn't have when I tried it, maybe there's settings, or I might have had a demo if there's a paid version for full features, which would also take points away if you have to pay, but colored lights. Blue torches should give off blue light. Works that way in Rethinking Voxels!
@@Pecola1FromScratch I have to say that I'm very impressed by Rethinking voxel, it's the only shader that can make god rays out of every type of light sources.
@@Vwave-official nice ill just stick with it then. The only reason i asked because I was interested in shaders in the hopes it was more performance friendly but sadly that doesn't appear to be the case... Thanks for the intel
I can only compare Continuum 2.0.5 and Seus renewed because Continuum 2.1 isn't free and comparing a path traced shader and a more classic shader isn't fair (everyone is screaming at me because I didn't put PBR on the Seus PTGI so imagine if a did a comparison like that) but I'll see for a Seus renewed vs continuum shader !
if someone say bedrock rtx is good its because it have own pbr texture while seus ptgi is just shaderpack in this video. but not gonna lie to u seus ptgi look better both indoor and outdoor u can start see it from here 1:43
Well playing in seus ptgi seems good because it got the look of Minecraft but playing in rtx looks different I mean it's looks more real the seus ptgi but we have to bear in mind that we have to make Minecraft look like Minecraft. So I think seus ptgi is good for Minecraft.
of course minecraft rtx is the king of rtx because its the only one of the two that uses rtx technology. people seem to use path/ray tracing interchangably with rtx wich is just straight up wrong. rtx doesnt mean ray tracing, its just a fancy word to describe nvidias approach to ray tracing. rtx just means that the game is using the rt cores of a rtx card wich were designed for ray tracing while seus ptgi does all of this with pure gpu power and not rt cores because java doesnt support rtx compatibility. when it comes to realism tho, seus ptgi is miles ahead. the water alone looks 20x better than rtx's water.
at least you can play with good performance on bedrock, java is a train wreck for performance and gets worse and worse the more you develop your base. STGI looks incredible and some of the resources packs looks great but it's all for nothing because practically nobody has the hardware to run it.
Dude my school computers ran vanilla minecraft at 60 fps. My current one has a 3050 and can run PTGI HRR 2.1 at 60-80 with 16 render distance and all other settings to max. Tho i use Sodium for performance and Iris for shaders on Fabric
I'm using Minecraft 1.19, and if your Seus doesn't have any RTX, make sure that you use the one named SEUS PTGI and the other RTX shader that you can see is only available in MInecraft bedrock edition if you have and RTX or radeon xt graphics card

minecraft RTX seems to have a more natural feel to it, while still keeping the minecraft atmosphere alive, however Seus PTGI just looks good and also kills your graphics card
I will say minecraft rtx even with its bugs Is the new king, however something I don't exactly like is minecraft rtx water shader (the texturing of the water Not the way light bounces and reflects on it) cause the minecraft water looks out of place and not very cool, but if you went underwater minecraft rtx would beat sues ptgi, I love how both of these look and I remeber a few years ago watching sues ptgi and wanting it so badly but my pc couldn't handle it, but I think rtx does some things better than sues ptgi, however sues ptgi does some things better then minecraft rtx, so it honestly depends on preference, they are both great shader packs.
While I absolutely LOVE RTX, it makes things a bit too bright for my liking. Seus is a good alternative if you don't have an RTX graphics card or don't like it.

I wish I could run Bedrock RTX, but unfortunately I do not have a good enough graphics card. SEUS would also destroy my computer anyway.
RTX feels so bare without additional vfx, PTGI without the vfx would look a lot like plain RT (its just PT after all)
SEUS seems more complete, with water, clouds, etc. minecraft RTX seems to work better with diffuse/ambient light.
Seems to me that SEUS is better at integrating the overall shader effect but Minecraft RTX has more exaggerated RT effects
how did you get the maps to work on bedorck?
I used an app to convert java map to bedrock
if minecraft shader packs could use ray tracing modules of rtx cards it would be the greatest thing ever
I prefer Minecraft RTX because it keeps the shading Minecraft-y if that makes sense. Sues is more for if you want it to look realistic, which looks nice but is unnecessary for the type of game Minecraft is. Sometimes simplicity is great.
Lol RTX is morr realistic without doubt.
Minecraft rtx is basically reflection and bouncing of light while shaders are modifications in Minecraft's lighting system
stone looks like epoxy in RTX but in PTGI it looks like real rock. i kinda hate RTX because it makes some blocks look like they covered in baby oil but overall i like RTX lighting more
Minecraft bRTX is very accurate but it lacks some visual effects that PTGI has.
rtx makes it too vibrant for reality but it does fit the minecraft style more than seus so if you're going for realism go seus if youre just going for minecraft but looking better go rtx
Rtx is amazing and I wish I could use it but I really don't want to switch to bedrock for that
Use PTGI, its free now and works on non RTX capable cards (tho you still need a good card) also its the lightest Path Tracing shader available (all others need better cards)
It should also be noted the renderer differences. Java is still running on OpenGL as upgrading to Vulcan would alienate a large portion of the playerbase who are still on older systems. But Windows 10 edition, which is how you use RTX, is able to run on modern renderers
I think seus looks better and if you want the 3d blocks just install vanilla pbr resource pack
I wish vanilla Minecraft was like this right out the box
@@Vwave-official I mean the Nintendo Switch.
@@captainrick4513 Oh my Bad ! But it's normal since the Switch doesn't have rt cores, and for the ps5 and Xbox series X/S i don't know why it's not working .
@@Vwave-official Exactly, lol.
Seus PTGI looks more atmospheric but it’s near unplayable. It’s just so dark and moody
rtx has better lighting, but i don't like how night time looks and water style and rtx has way too much fog for my liking, hopefully those should be customizable.
I am a big hater of bedrock, but I must say, the fact you can do a camera obscura with rtx is amazing and gets my #1.
In my personal experience with both id say that seus is fantastic but obviously limited whereas rtx is a fully utilised ray traced experience I just use both interchangeably
If only you can combine the 2, the seus has better lighting while rtx has the better reflections imo
RTX is better ngl though the reflections have some issues.
RTX has more reflective surfaces, but that can be both a good and bad thing in my opinion (makes everything look wet). Seus has softer lighting in general, but can be darker at times. All in all, I think it's still up to personal preference.
Edit: RTX also adds depth to blocks, but you can probably achieve a similar result with something like Vanilla PBR.
i was gonna say its kinda unfair how the rtx pack has reflective textures because rtx comes as part of a resource pack. im pretty sure you can do the same in java with the right textures. speculor textures or something like that.
did you use pbr textures with seus hrr?
this plays a very important role, reflections appear, and most importantly without RTX
It didn't work with Iris but in another video I tested It with PBR so you should definitively check It out !
RTX: for you if you want good high quality reflections and plenty of light and frams
Seus Ptgi: for you if you want a darker feel, and you dont want it to be too reflecty
I tried both with the rtx 3070 ti for a long time. rtx is definitely much better.
Minecraft RTX seems to make good use of reflections and specular lighting whereas the materials of PTGI all seem to be rather matte.
What assets would be the most demanding on performance? RTX or PTGI ?
Ptgi
@@Vwave-official thats worst for performance?
@@shreddykruger8741 Yes RTX is better for performance
@@Vwave-official nice ill just stick with it then. The only reason i asked because I was interested in shaders in the hopes it was more performance friendly but sadly that doesn't appear to be the case... Thanks for the intel
You definitely forgot to use a Normal PBR pack for the seus.
Hi, can you please compare Continuum 2.1 with Seus Ptgi or with Bedrock RTX ?
I can only compare Continuum 2.0.5 and Seus renewed because Continuum 2.1 isn't free and comparing a path traced shader and a more classic shader isn't fair (everyone is screaming at me because I didn't put PBR on the Seus PTGI so imagine if a did a comparison like that) but I'll see for a Seus renewed vs continuum shader !
I played Minecraft wit all of them and I like all but rtx trees looks like plastic at day time still the rest is insane
I feel the rtx still in vanilla but Advance lightning
Not exactly a fair comparison, PTGI should have had a PBR resource pack with it
if someone say bedrock rtx is good its because it have own pbr texture while seus ptgi is just shaderpack in this video.
but not gonna lie to u seus ptgi look better both indoor and outdoor
u can start see it from here 1:43
crazy how a shader made by one guy as a hobby is on par with something made by a team of paid professionals.
Well playing in seus ptgi seems good because it got the look of Minecraft but playing in rtx looks different I mean it's looks more real the seus ptgi but we have to bear in mind that we have to make Minecraft look like Minecraft. So I think seus ptgi is good for Minecraft.
Did you run both on default, it looks like so cause the ptgi does have an option for rendering a texture differently, like the rtx
RTX can't be run without PBR, but for the Seus PBR didn't work. But hey I did a video with PBR on for both, so go check this out !
of course minecraft rtx is the king of rtx because its the only one of the two that uses rtx technology. people seem to use path/ray tracing interchangably with rtx wich is just straight up wrong. rtx doesnt mean ray tracing, its just a fancy word to describe nvidias approach to ray tracing. rtx just means that the game is using the rt cores of a rtx card wich were designed for ray tracing while seus ptgi does all of this with pure gpu power and not rt cores because java doesnt support rtx compatibility. when it comes to realism tho, seus ptgi is miles ahead. the water alone looks 20x better than rtx's water.
Don't worry I know the deference between RTX, rt and ptgi I just say RTX to attract more people to watch my video. Great comment though !
@@Vwave-official yeah i figured its either one of the two
at least you can play with good performance on bedrock, java is a train wreck for performance and gets worse and worse the more you develop your base.
Something’s are brighter and darker in each comparisons so if this is reflective and it’s not in the other that how do we compare that?
rtx bedrock using Resource Pack with PBR, and appear reflections. Uses PTGI you dont used PBR, there were no reflections
Would you be able to share links to the pages you got these resources packs?
Links are in the description (for Seus go see the PBR comparison video tha I made : th-cam.com/video/B3ZzzuSpbzA/w-d-xo.html)
Seus PGI - Just because Nivida's RTX has so many issues on Bedrock RN making it seem like they just Forgot it existed
Minecraft rtx : Reflection goes brrrrrtttt!
Minecraft seus : Wow.
To me, ptgi is better for closed spaces, and rtx for open ones.
good video 👍
Whats the music in this video?
What version of Minecraft are you using, why does my device use SEUS and it does not have ray tracing like you?
I'm using Minecraft 1.19, and if your Seus doesn't have any RTX, make sure that you use the one named SEUS PTGI and the other RTX shader that you can see is only available in MInecraft bedrock edition if you have and RTX or radeon xt graphics card
@@Vwave-official Either version is fine, I use Tlauncher
@@Vwave-official Mine put a sheet of colored glass right next to the lamp, it only glows white, not glowing in the color of glass.
@@Short_Football It doesn't work in Seus PTGI try Redstone lapis and emerald if they make colored lightning you have the RTX version if not it's not RTX.
Redstone is still red, but over the glass panels, it is not of a different color
Dude, use a texture pack for the SEUS... And HRR3 please.
Pack, like AVPBR or Vanilla accurate x128
That version of sues wasn't out when the video was made.
@@wraithwrecker_ Also hzving tested both versions, 3 uses more ressources while adding not a lot. Heck SEUS said on the post for HRR 3 that he might need to rewrite it because the performance difference between E12 and HRR3 is no longer worth it
minecraft RTX seems to have a more natural feel to it, while still keeping the minecraft atmosphere alive, however Seus PTGI just looks good and also kills your graphics card
How does it "kill your card"? RTX is heavier.
RTX is not heavier. It actually runs a lot smoother
@@user-mb2yh9rq4fit's because it has dlss and runs on bedrock. And you also need an RTX Graphics Card for it to run.
@@DontBeAWaster Still runs smoother (?) and the seus shaders are using more resources
Seus ptgi makes the game like a horror game
While I absolutely LOVE RTX, it makes things a bit too bright for my liking. Seus is a good alternative if you don't have an RTX graphics card or don't like it.
Seus at all just darker and more soft when rtp gives a lot of light and shapes
