Thanks for the review. I have per-ordered one, but having seen reviews complaining about the light part of me is having second thoughts. This review though has probably tipped me into staying with the order and having one.
seems like you rushed thru this review lol but it was good. I have the basic kindle , the one before the new upgrade. I might buy this once the price goes down. I am in no rush
So is that weird gradient with the yellow tinge at the top of the screen supposed to be there? I've heard people say it's a production/manufacturing error.
I think they are missing one.. very important feature... "Text-to-Speech"... Which allows you to listen through an electronic voice doing the actual reading for you....so you just sit there and listen to it..like an audiobook... I don't see this feature on the Voyage or the Paperwhite!... like previous kindle versions.... Why did they remove it?.... That is why ... I haven't changed my Keyboard kindle version.. or my XD version...since I use the Text-to-speech quite often....specially when driving ...!
There are to many electronic readers on the market; I used to like B&N's Nook Glowlight, but returned instead to buy a different e-reader. I didn't end up buying any new e-reader and just ususe my old Nook HD tablet (I got in 2013 for my birthday).
One question, is it possible to turn off the touch-enabled screen? I hate reading on the iPad because of the touch screen; if I hold the screen it turns pages... I like my kindle 3 because it is not a touch screen. Thanks.
+vc07441 Unfortunately that is pretty common with frontlit ereaders. It varies a lot from one to the next, even the same brand. Amazon will exchange it if you ask them.

It's good E-reader and I wish Amazon make large screen voyage 9 inch maybe ?
6.8 would be big enough -want it to fit in my pocket

easier on your eyes to read.
You need the light unless you are in direct sunlight. It is front lit, so it's really not an issue. No eye fatigue.
