As a German, I like to watch reaction videos about Germany. Because when you've lived in this country all your life, you often forget how good you have it and understand other people's views better.
Thanks for your reactions, here's the money I earned at work while watching this video.

11:15 The night of 1,000 bombs, also known as "Operation Millennium", remains a gruesome memory. During the war, an estimated 1,900,000 tons of bombs were dropped on Germany. In a total of 31 heavy air raids alone, around 1.5 million bombs fell on Cologne. It is assumed that one in every 10 bombs remained in the ground as an unexploded bomb.

22:30 About 25 different styles of beer are brewed in Germany, home of the Purity Law. Within these beer styles there are around 6,000 different types of beer in Germany. The German brewing industry consists of more than 1,500 breweries including craft beer breweries, which, including non-alcoholic varieties, produced around 87.8 million hectoliters of beer in 2022. In terms of output figures, German breweries are in fifth place behind China, the USA, Brazil and Mexico.

11:51 Unfortunately, there are accidents with old bombs from time to time. While most old ordnance can be rendered inert or safely detonated (for people but not the infrastructure around it) on site. In some rare cases, people have been killed by 80 year old munitions.
Here are three cases that came to mind very quickly.
In 2006, a construction worker hit an old bomb with his machine on the Autobahn 3, killing him and tearing the heavy machine apart.
In 2010 in Göttingen, the chemical timer on an old bomb managed to kill three EOD workers and injure another of their colleagues.
In 2014 in Euskirchen, a Blockbuster bomb hidden in a concrete block killed the excavator operator who broke that block apart and shattered most of the windows in the city.

1:18 Yes, these are mainly pictures from Germany. The picture for example is from Munich, at the city hall of Munich (left).
4:30 This is the Berlin Wall.
    5:30 That should be Frankfurt.
6:09 More precisely, you can drink at the age of 14, but only under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
10:35 You can get very high-quality iPhones and other smartphone brands here, for example if you take out a mobile phone contract with one of the mobile phone providers. There it costs e.g. 1 € (follow-up costs must be taken into account).
11:21 But this is not a bomb defusing service from Germany. (Could be from Spain or Italy.)
11:30 That looks more like Germany.
12:21 Yes, escaping from prison is not a criminal offence, but only as long as something or someone is not harmed by the escape. (Damage to property, theft, hostage-taking, etc.)
14:40 Well, many were not built a thousand years earlier. A few centuries before. Neuschwanstein, for example, is not that old either. It's only about 155 years old.
19:50 We have speed limits, these are mostly in the motorway sections around a city (also because of noise). We also have accidents, but far fewer than the USA, for example. This is because we have stricter tests when someone is learning their driving licence and also the sensitivity to causing accidents at high speeds. There is a motto: "Don't trust the driver in front of you. He might make mistakes."
21:24 They forgot the car again (Karl Benz) (excerpt: Cugnot's (Frenchman) steam car is the first motor vehicle. Benz's tricycle (1886), on the other hand, is the first functional vehicle with an internal combustion engine). His wife Bertha was the first woman to travel over 100 kilometres in a vehicle.
There is also no mention of Zuse's first computer, the Z1 (1937).

There's a lot of good stuff on display. But Germany also has its dark sides. Poverty in old age, child poverty, many people can't afford all these great things at all. So it's not all gold that glitters here. Many people are also dependent on so-called food banks. That is, they are food editions of food that are put together in supermarkets in the evening and used to be thrown away. Yes, great. But I still love it very much, even if my pension is barely enough. And that's a bit cold. Otherwise is a beautiful area, beautiful country.
Greetings from Germany to Brazil. Have a good time.

Calling those "facts" "shocking" is a bit of clickbait.
2:08 "Germania" is the name the Romans gave the region, not the inhabitants, and the region shown in the map was at no point in time fully "Germanic" = inhabitated by Germanic tribes, even if those tribes moved within that region.
2:35 That was not the peaceful political process as suggested, but the result of multiple wars: Prussia had allied with Italy and some small states dependent on Prussia against the German Confederation and defeated it in the German War of 1866. It then annexed most states loyal to the Confederation in Northern Germany (except for Saxony) and forced the others to join the North German Federation presided by Prussia. The flag of that Federation was allegedly a mix of Prussian and Hanseatic colors, actually however rather a mix of the Brandenburg and Prussian colors - Brandenburg being the region around Berlin ruled by Prussia even before. Prussia forced also the defeated southern states (except Austria, which was still too powerful to be forced) to enter individual secret mutual assistance pacts before Bismarck provoked the Prussian-French war. After France was defeated, a new German Empire was proclaimed in Versailles near Paris, which was a federation of four kingdoms, multiple duchies, princedoms and minor states under the presidency of the Prussian king, who took the title of German Emperor (but not Emperor of Germany), using the same Brandenburg-Prussian colors in its flag like the late North German Federation.
3:55 There was not really an agreement about that. The four allies USA, UK, France and USSR divided Germany in four occupation zones. The US and the UK worked together from the beginning, France rather reluctantly, while the tensions between the USSR and the western allies grew. The western allies then reached an agreement to restore Germany and Austria as separate, but each united countries instead of rearranging them (as proposed at different times and in different ways by Churchill and US minister of finance Morgenthau). The USSR accepted the reunification of Austria in exchange for neutrality, but opposed the western plans for Germany, especially regarding the political and economic system. In 1949 the Federal Republic of Germany was founded in West Germany with a new, democratic and federalistic constitution; the former Prussian regions in the British occupation zone became two different states (to avoid preponderance, but also according to historic and ethnic allegiances), while the former Prussian regions in the US zone became part of Hesse and the former Prussian and Bavarian regions in the French zone became Rhineland-Palatinate. Four months later the USSR proclaimed the German Democratic Republic within their occupation zone, melting of the former states of Mecklenburg, Anhalt, Thuringia, Saxony and the remains of Brandenburg-Prussia into a centralistic state ruled by the "Socialist Unity Party", a forced merger of Socialdemocrats, Socialists and Communists.
6:03 Germany's rules about drinking age are not very unique within Europe. There is no minimum "drinking age" at all in Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, the Balkans, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Czechia and many other countries, only a minimum purchasing age. Spain had a minimum purchase age for alcoholic drinks of 16 until in 2002 the autonomous communities of Madrid, Valencia and Catalonia raised their minimum purchase age to 18, in 2006 Castile and Leon followed suit, in 2010 Galicia. Denmark raised its purchasing age in 2004 from 15 to 16 years. Switzerland has a similar rule as Germany: purchasing beer and wine from the age of 16, hard liquor from the age of 18, however no official drinking age. The federal states of Austria aligned in 2019 their drinking and purchasing ages to a similar rule as in Germany.
7:05 Those thousand do not only encompass grilled sausages (Oberschwäbische Geschlagene, Nürnberger, Thüringer, Rote, Schübling (6:54) and many other regional or local recipes), but also ones to be heated in water or broth (like Weisswurst, Bockwurst, Debrecener, Wiener and Frankfurter), ones used mainly as sandwich meat (Bierschinken, Bierwurst, Cervelat, Lyoner, different regional blood sausages, Liver sausages, Gelbwurst, Teewurst, ...) and dried sausages to be eaten as snack e.g. while hiking (Landjäger, Bergsteiger, Kaminwurz, ...).
There are also more than 3,000 kinds of bread registered by the German Bread Institute. And while only less than 600 different kinds of cheese are produced in Germany, Germany is the second biggest producer (and biggest exporter with a market share of 14.5%) of cheese from cow milk worldwide (2.3 million tons; the biggest are the US with about 6 million tons, France is third with about 1.7 million tons)
11:00 The iPhone has in Europe "only" a market share of about 23%, Samsung smartphones got about 30% (mostly with Android), other Android phones about 44%, WindowsPhones less than 0.3%: but iPhone and iPad owners seem to use their devices more often to get into the internet (mobile internet use is nearly 35% iOS, about 65% Android, 0.5% Samsung, 0.03% Windows).
11:56 Most unexploded bombs are found around railway junctions, main railway stations, older Autobahn sections and some industrial sectors where armaments were produced during WW II. In 2006 a bomb exploded during maintenance works at Autobahn A3 near Aschaffenburg and killed the driver of an asphalt milling machine. In 2014 a bomb exploded in Euskirchen at a construction site and killed the dredger operator. In 2019 a bomb exploded during the night in a field near Limburg, probably due to corrosion of the delay detonator; nobody was hurt. In 2021 a bomb exploded during construction work for a new railway tunnel in Munich (th-cam.com/video/-RFTXO2cNqI/w-d-xo.html).
12:18 Again: Germany is not unique in this, Austria, Belgium, Mexico and Switzerland for example have similar rules. Prison escape does not lead to additional charges, as long as you do not damage anything or hurt somebody during your attempt to escape - but you'll lose your privileges (if you had gained some before). You're not allowed to escape, but you'll not be punished only for trying to escape. It is however punishable for non-prisoners to help prisoners to escape.
14:15 That number is a somewhat exaggerated estimation, including some ruins nearly invisible to the naked eye as well as multiple 19th century estates built in historicist or neo-gothic style. Some of the "castles" were also built as abbeys, but confiscated during the secularization 1802/1803 (caused by the Napoleonic wars) and later adapted to be used as additional residence by some king, prince or duke or sometimes as garrisons, prisons or mental asylums.
19:00 It is only the Autobahn, and only about 2/3 of the Autobahn which has no (permanent) speed limit. All other roads have speed limits, even if there is no sign explicitly indicating it. And you can be pulled over if driving recklessly, even in stretches without speed limit.
22:05 The tuition rules are made by the states, and they have different rules if it comes to non-EU citizens (in some states there is a small tuition fee of e.g. 1,500 Euro per semester) and second studies if you have already a degree in another field (e.g. 500 to 700 Euro per semester) or longtime students (about 500 Euro per semester in some states). There is also an administration fee of some hundred Euro per semester (depending on the university), which includes however students' union fees and a free ticket for public transport within the region.
22:55 A bit exaggerated. Beer is important in Bavarian culture, but it is not sacred. Beer consumption in Germany is decreasing since years, including Bavaria. And to call beer "liquid bread" is more of a joke, not an official statement. Most breweries in Bavaria are also not to find within the original "Bavarian" part, but in Franconia, which was annexed by Bavaria during the Napoleonic wars.
