Obviously they always give the crowd favorite the win in a close fight. If the crowd would have been chanting Wei Xie name, then he would have got the decision. IMO, Wei won rounds 2 and 3. All Danny did was landed kicks. Almost no punches and nothing impressive from him. At least Wei was trying to finish the fight which is what is SUPPOSED to be the most important aspect of MMA scoring
But Wei got a point deducted for his illegal hits. If it wasnt for the foul i think he wouldve gotten the decision

The decision was a joke. How Kingad won being hit on the head, controlled on the ground, battered standing up? The referee should be fired.

Watched the whole fight and it's clearly we know Xie was the aggressor the entire fight and landed more punches and more take down. Danny landed more leg kick to the leg. If you let them fight another 2 rounds, I expect Danny would be knocked out. As such, I cannot see how is it Danny won the fight with unanimous decision. We need a re max and make it 5 rounds.

Xie Jie had to fight his opponent and the referee.
The headbutt was intentional, even if was such a minor thing. The next time the ref saved Danny was totally bias. Clearly you can tell Danny was moving his head and the resolve was instead of the knees to the front, it landed to the side, NOT back. Totally the REF was helping the home field advantage. To me, Xie should have won the fight. More take down and more punch landed to the head, not to mention more aggression.
@@yummytummy88 I don't think it's bias. It is clear that he was not moving his head but Xie was pulling it to hit using knee. More like the situation where two of the fighters was hitting using their knees while standing, pulling each other's head to hit accurately. I am filipino but I'd say Xie should have won this fight if weren't of his violations. I think it cost him that's why he lost. If there was a rematch I'd say Xie has a higher chance to win. And also it is clear that he hit the back of the head not the side. It even replayed twice watch closely.
I like Danny Kingad and I am from Baguio City. However, in this fight, the Chinese fighter should have won in my opinion.

That was close, i thought Danny lost when I watched live last night but when I watched it again today, Danny took the first 2 rounds already because of his kicks? Danny's striking was a bit off. Keep on improving and you'll find you way up. Go Super Team Lakay.

I noticed that too. His boxing wasn’t really effective or accurate that night. And whenever Xie pressured with punches, Danny would lose his balance. I’m happy Kingad won but theres some things he needs to work on.

Xie didnt see that he turned the head at 18:50. Fighters who strategicly turn the back of their head when oponent cant see it should take full responsability for that when get hit. If U turn youre head exactly as the other fighter throw his knee then U are a cheater because youre doin it in hope of getting the other fighter warned or disqualified.
