Even if Sweet Baby can wash the s°°° stains of their hands and hide their involvement in things... I wouldn't buy certain games anyway. I boycot games where I see even a *SPECK* of what could be anti wh°teness.
As a Canadian, I'd like to do the Canadian thing and apologize for Sweet Baby Inc existing. It hurts knowing that this blight on the gaming industry was made in Canada.
I believe gaming is for anyone, regardless of what gender. It can be, should be, an inclusive hobby. But not every game needs to be for everyone, and existing franchises should not have their identities butchered in order to attempt to make them so. What a fucking timeline we live in, where they make games to appeal to tumblr mentality, the people who want to change games for us rather than thenselves, and definitely don't even intend to pay or play. It's just another feelgood project for them.
As an Indian person I can tell you right now how the story was decided in Ubisoft office. 1. They probably read the one Indian myth that was close enough to global concepts like Illuminati so they can easily export the game worldwide (the actual myth goes that Samrat Vikramaditya divided the knowledge for future among 9 immortals so they can slowly distribute it to humanity in times of need, think like 9 weaker Emperors of Mankind from warhammer 40k, each knowledgeable in a single field like economics, warfare, engineering, etc) 2. They then proceed to make their own bland story where changing the names and character skins would change the game to ANY other ubisoft open world game, with only passing references to Indian culture (Much like Asscreed Shadows) 3. Make the protagonist woman and have her kill men
@@pepinlebref7585 sorry for that then, but the point still stands. These self centered and arrogant "Creators" hijack everything good and corrupt it to forward their agenda
As a fellow brown man,.. I feel your pain dawg. They not only make pathetic attempts of a „game“ they also make people hate us who can’t see through their bs.
@@amargwari2431 Lets just hope that most people understand that the vast majority of us are also against this BS. And yeah.. the recent games are really terrible.
I wont shed a tear for Ubisoft collapse. Ubisoft decided to make the decisions that lead them here. I wont miss them after all the lying and cheating and attacking fans.
Not industry, just completely rotten thru top. Or bottom, depending on your point of view. There is more than enough studios making excellent games. In fact i mostly play indie games now, as they somehow tend to be better than AAA slop, for half or even third of the price. Not a single tear would be shed for none of those rotten husks. Their glory days are long behind them and they have nobody but themselves to blame. Between all the games in my Steam library, that i havent even played yet, EA games that get regular updates and new indie titles, there is more than enough of experiences for any gamer.
Gonna start a studio just to make anti-woke and “normal” games; make profit by catering to the consumers and then buy up all these cash printing IPs from these woke companies collapsing around us 😂
@@sjent Pretty much this. The only thing indies lack is proper marketing and brand recognition, while AAA studios only have those and almost nothing else...
This is why gatekeeping your hobbies is a good idea. If you don't people like this infiltrate it and ruin it for everyone. Gatekeeping is necessary for these very reason.
It really doesn't matter if they hide or not. We as gamers could tell something was "off" about games like "saints row reboot" and "forspoken" before sweet baby became a talking point.
@@mukamuka0 Exactly, this hiding themselves so they won’t be discovered won’t help. You only leave trails you left behind and they will follow what path you took.
My gut tells me cancelling work from home was to prevent further leaks as well. They need to hide what they're doing from their customers because they know it isn't right.
Their developers going on strike is the best to happen to Ubisoft. It’s the easiest way for a company to value your effort is to see difference in output when you don’t work.
@@BrekhaldWhat if the work is of NO VALUE? Like Ubisofts last 3 or 4 games? Then working or not MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. Does make it easier to know who to fire though.
It's too late for sweet baby inc now because what ever they bring new to the table is now pointless because the whole gaming community knows what comes with it 🤷
The woke doesn't get this: woke is boring, above being preachy and in your face. It's boring, it only creates apathy and apathy brings death to any franchise.
It’s so disturbing that companies will go to double, triple and even quadruple down on DEI, SBI, ESG…and whatever else is on the list. it’s like asking someone to cut off a limb and they thank you and ask for another, it’s wrong and what the hell is provoking them to worsen themselves.
The things is, if there are someone willing to offer you 1 Billion USD just for a single kidney from you, would you accept the deal? BIack Rock is making that kind of deal to video game companies though.
I’m honestly relieved to see this downfall. I used to be a big fan of their games, but what they've done to the industry is disappointing. The constant interference from activists, who have damaged so many studios, combined with corporate greed, has led to a noticeable decline in the quality and soul of their latest releases compared to previous ones. It’s frustrating to see them claim they’re trying to support the LGBTQ+ and people of color communities. These activist are like trying to play the hero in real life while forcing themselves into the narratives of the games. Ironically, many people from these communities don’t even resonate with the characters they create, which often end up as insufferable stereotypes. It’s not about making characters perfect or beautiful, but giving them depth, complexity, and making them interesting in their own way-without rewriting well-established ones just to fit a trend.
Wasn’t mentioned but another reason Ubislop would remove work from home is to make people quit. This is a tactic companies use to trim work force and depending on circumstances avoid severance pay.
they should quit. They don't deserve the job if they cant even turn up to work. This is just them weeding out all the laziest workers and its long overdue. I would say about 2/3rds of Ubisoft staff are just leeches that provide nothing to the company and they know it but its almost impossible to fire people these days. It all the pointless jobs and incompetent staff that are making them lose money. They desperately need to cut back to only game developers and one or two leads and fire all the pointless people like DEI specialists, social media people and researchers. Game devs makes games good or bad the rest are irrelevant.
It's not only to make them quit it's also so can fire them without paying anything for breach of contract (they don't have contract that let them work from home for the people that are asked to stop working from home)
I hate ubisoft but that take isn't fair. There are only rare exceptions where work from home makes sense. There is a lot of evidence that it has detrimental affects. It lowers productivity and efficiency. It also has more affects most peoppe dont consider. If you aren't there you dont have chances to get mentored. You lose out on those between meeting coworker talks that can produce unexpected things as workers cross communicate between depts. I could go on, there are actually a lot of downsides for both employees and employers related to work at home. It depends on the job and industry, obviously, to how detrimental these affects can be. If they wanna be taken seriously they need to have good faith arguments. "But I dont wanna, I can do this at home," is not a good argument. There are rare exceptions but most people are idiots and productivity takes a huge hit if someone isn't standing over their shoulder.
They should have asked writers in Hollywood how their strike turned out for the majority of them. And in a time where their stocks are in freefall no less lol.
I'ma keep it a buck but working from home should only be used to those that are special exceptions. There is no structure, leadership, or community. Granted it could work for smaller studios but if youre a larger studio it's unviable especially if you need tools and special resources.
@EndymionTv We always appreciate when you play trash games or watch garbage TV shows so we don't have to. I'm still working on that back log cause I'm busy working, working out and raising my son. We love you brother stay based!
Ok I need to right some wrongs because clearly, there are some misinformations here. I’m French and work in IT as a dev and used to work in video games. Not at Ubisoft tho, so I only speak from my experience. The direction doesnt want to cancel remote working, they ask for employees to be present at least 3 days a week in office. And tbh it makes perfect sense because no one is as efficient at home as in office, I’ve seen it multiple times personnaly and in other companies. Because at work you don't have as many distractions as you have at home. Your office is optimised for production. Most French companies (if not all of them) have reduced if not cancelled remote working because production was severly reduced. Granted they work with offices from around the world, so you could argue it wouldn’t make a big difference. But it does, as once again, working from home and in your office are not the same at all. You can never be as productive as home as you are in office. Now syndicates claim workers moved away from big cities and are too far for working 3 days a week in office. Well yeah, sucks for them but no one asked them to move away from their workplace. The company isnt responsible for its employees poor life decisions. Is it a move from Ubisoft to cut its workforce for free ? Yeah sure. The company is shitty and hasnt made a good game in years. But employees are also to blame here. Working from home is a luxury, not a right. Especially when you are garanteed 2 days of remote working
I agree with you about teleworking being less productive. I personally think people have gotten complacent and lazy due to COVID times and believe teleworking should be the standard. Doing meetings, collaboration, cooperation is MUCH less effective compared to in person. Teleworking occasionally is fine, or for a limited basis (i.e. you're on a waiting list for a babysitter/care center), but to expect telework as a standard is insane to me.
I am part of the Indian diaspora. I didn't care for that white woman's brown puppet when she was TEMU Yennefer. I have no desire to pay for her latest grift. Shame what the game did to her though because she is pretty.
I honestly understand point of working in office rather than from home. Office creates diffrent enviroment, making employee being focused on what he/she needs to do and making whole process easier to be overseen by superiors. Making games are no single person project. It should be done within specific space. I find such complaints simply as being lazy/disrespecting Your employment, with exceptions like being disabled person.
that is such an outdated bullshit take. I work in a position that requires a LOT of communication with my coworkers. I am most of the time in the office, with some days of work from home. I am surprised every time how much more i get done remote than in the office. simply because in the office people tend to walk up to me and interrupt my current task because they all think their problem is the most important in the world and must be resolved right now. when i am not physically there they are forced to use digital ways of communication, which allows me to keep better focus and prioritize more efficiently.
I got 'Timed Out' by Jorraptor Moderators for not having the same point of view about AC Shadows. Was told to Not Tell others their 'opinions' are wrong by chat. What a Clown World🎉🤡
To be fair and I don’t know what was said and what you said but if you were telling people that they are wrong then it’s like the same as telling them they can’t have an opinion because in your views they are wrong. But stay strong brother!
Yeah well it’s no secret that Jor is one of the biggest Ubislop shills. Needs those oh so precious early access tokens for these games so he can keep making content
@@bluelantern9 I told no one anything. Just had an opinion that's not generally their take...like Ubisoft being a bad company and making Buggy games for years. I probably just got reported a lot by opposition.
UBIslop is screwed. Thats what you get for having a company in France which is a VERY progressive country - if you look into how the whole french industry works, you'd be surprised that any company would want to work there
I'm French and I can assure you, not every company is like that. Ubisoft terrible decisions are on them and them alone (being in France has nothing to do with it).
Thank you for your continued coverage. As for 'Work from Home' I have dealt with that and the answer LOWER PRODUCTIVITY. Studies indicate as much as a 20% drop in productivity. The biggest culprit, btw, is SOCIAL MEDIA. Too many people screwing around with TH-cam, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Then come other factors such as people getting to work late (if at all), goofing off, hard to get a hold of, a bunch more.
Great job Brother and keep fighting the hivemind everyone, we are going to win if we keep up the pressure against these gaming hater people. ENDYMION great work Brother, ML&R Scott
brother, you told some simple truths and made huge waves. I consider game journalism in general to be sort of a ridiculous thing, but you are actually doing real work and causing real change. this is great.
Oh and Unknown 9? Ha.. if it wasn't SBI we hadn't even heard of it or was on our radar. It is one of those small games few hear off really. And well it being SBI'd... it is even deader then dead.
Imma be real, alot of these devs wanting to keep working from home are just lazy. We all got coworkers that are lazy, game developers are no different. I'm sure there's hard working game devs that just can't commute since they probably got hired remotely
Loyal and true fans who catapulted Ubisoft into Fortune 500 were taken for granted or abandoned. People who, in past, called us 'losers' cuz we were gamers or loved comic books - now smelled a chance for a quick buck and stole our platforms. I recently made a John Wick style montage using SC Blacklist stylish takedowns. Looks badass with music I chose. If only we got a JW game from Ubi. They had the right tools from SC and Watch Dogs. Too late now..
Thanks in advance for taking the Dragon Age Veilguard hit. Im hoping against hope that it will actually turn out good, but with the developer being what IT is...and the fucking scars. You know IT is the one who came up with that idea...well, like I said, im greatful you will be playing it first. My purchase will depend entirely on your review. You have gained my trust, and if I wasnt so goddamn strapped for cash all the time (motorcycles cost a lot of money. So does food, 13 year old daughters, boxing...i cant give up...etc) I would gladly become a supporter of your channel. You deserve it. Maybe when I get my bike paid off ill be able to afford some luxuries. And no, I dont consider video games luxuries. In this day and age I consider them necessities because aside from riding my bike, there arent very many ways to escape this fucked up world.
Its not a Bengali woman, thats "generic girlboss 628 shade brown". Funny thing is that India have a lot of legendary female warriors, especially in southern India. But they won't make characters inspired by them, cause all of them were feminine.
Is it girlboss slop? Let's consult the woke female protagonist checklist: Is she anything but white? Yes. Check! Is she masculine/fat/ugly/plain? She is incredibly plain. Check! Is she flat as a board? Affirmative. Check! Is she dressed such that her clothing hides her curves, or makes her appear more masculine? Clothing is definately hiding any semblance of houerglass figure. Check! Can she overpower men twice her weight with ease in a fistfight? That's a hard yes. Check! Is she into girls instead of boys? We don't know yet. QED. Does she routinely belittle, upstage, and or berate male characters for no good reason? We don't know yet. QED. We've got a pretty full card here i'd say.
Anecdotally, a few friends I have that have been working from home since covid, have become completely recluse. They used to have healthy balanced lives and now they never leave their house and now that they are wanted to return to the office, its like their entire world is falling apart. Its almost impossible to get either of them to leave their house. They stay home all day consuming media on the internet and have developed some kind of social anxiety. Im sure there are instances where people with families can benefit from working from home by its actually mentally ruined a few of my friends.
They’re gonna continue to panic seeing as even the employees are upset over their decisions. I can’t feel bad for most of them because they went along with a lot of the decisions this entire time. Besides all that, it’s all reaping what’s been sown.
Sweet Baby DEMANDS we support the latest dumpster fire? The thing about condescending demands, it just motivate people to either do the exact opposite or maliciously comply with it.
I just want to say that 50% of people when they "work from home" actually work not 40 but 25-30 hour weeks. I know because I work in IT and can see the results. Some employees even work less than 10 hours some weeks. And it's not often feasible to put some sort of quotas for the output. So the main reason corporations want everyone back in office is that they know that a lot of people cheat and work far less than they're supposed to.
Agreed - I worked in both corporate offices and at home. There is no comparison. I would actually say that people are 99% more effective in the office due to the environment being focused on the company's goals and targets of the job. Those that do work better and allowed to work from home are extremely rare, unique, and irreplaceable. Home office should never be a policy but rather special individual circumstances only that must be approved at multiple levels in the company.
I understand your point but what you are saying is very generalized with a lot of assumptions. There’s so many variables to consider. Productivity at home depends on your role, industry, company, and culture. It’s not a one size fits all, and studies vary. There are plenty of people who do far more then regular hours at home and use the flexibility to be more productive. If you’ve worked in a good environment with high performers this becomes apparent. That being said, a failing company like Ubisoft is implementing this structure to get employees to quit - which is much easier than mass layoffs. It is not a coincidence this happens at a time where their share value is low, all their IPs are failing, and there is a general poor management of the company in its entirety. I’m sure there are cases of productivity issues across various industries, but given Ubisoft’s poor reputation this is at best a last ditch effort. Once again, this is yet another excuse used to void years of poor upper management decisions that have destroyed the company. This policy is not going to have the impact you think. How the hell can you expect to retain your top talents with a lower quality of life at Ubisoft then industry standard. it is a results based industry and their choice to produce quantity over quality with continuous monetization schemes instead of quality games is why they are failing. Low Productivity for Ubisoft is a symptom of the greater sickness which is upper managements YEARS of terrible decision making - who have the audacity to gaslight people about working at home. Don’t believe me? Go and check all the successful companies across industry and ask yourself why they have hybrid schedules.
@@MrQuikz123 yes, I generalize. And in general, on average over 50% slack. I've known people who work more from home, and more efficient. But it is extremely hard for a company to determine who's who objectively. And then again, it's not like they can allow that for one person and not the other. So they want everyone back to office. Personally, I can work 60% of days from home, but I chose to come to the office 95% of days. Because at home there's a comfy couch with PS5 waiting for me, my PC, my Warhammer miniatures unpainted, cat unstroked, laundry not done, beer and food in the fridge, and no boss to keep an eye on me and make sure I'm not watching YT all day long. And while I am able to force myself to work - that's usually a day filled with frustration and an inner itch to do anything else but work. Now, I'm not unique, you see. I'm sure most people experience that at home, and I KNOW that a lot of them give in to that desire.
Work from home was a good idea but abused just like self checkout. Also, it is funny that kids and elderly suddenly disappeared so they could strike for the same amount of time they were asked to work in office.
The only thing you need for work from home to work is accountability, employees would know if someone was slacking, if they’re gonna crunch might as well save them a commute
The problem is it is not easy to fire people in these places especially on somthing as subjective as video game development where time required for somthing can very wildly. Many places the could not easily fire someone if they thought they were taking to long on a project.
Friends, let's be honest, SBI (sweetbabyinc) does nothing good for games, they only ruin them. We didn't come to games for the sake of inclusivity, did we? Games are different from reality because they are games, not because they are reality. And although most modern games try to get closer to realism, let it be in the form of new design styles and graphics, not plot and game mechanics.
The best part is that all these corpos telling us how they care about the environment and we should stop using our cars and eat the bugs and shit, yet they force their employees to commute to work every day, increasing traffic and burning gas. They really don't care about anything it's just pandering to increase their ESG score.
@@ThoraxetheImpaile100 journalists are part of the cult unfortunately. They are hired by their corporate overlords for their opinion and will not diverge. Must protect the system at all cost.
Kim Belair and the rest of SBI most likely lost their sh*t when they found out that it was two white guys(Jack “The King” Kirby and Stan “The Man” Lee) who created Black Panther.
As much as I hate Ubisoft, this is a joke. These staff members on strike are the reason Ubisoft in failing and still think its ok to strike? Not working from home is just what every single company is doing now as it has been proven without a shadow of a doubt that working from home caused people to work far less hard and get far less done. It has cost company's millions so why would they not switch back to normal? These workers are spoiled rotten and are throwing their dummies out the pram. Pathetic company with even more pathetic staff. I hope Ubisoft just fires everyone on strike and tries to go back to hiring on merit and not political persuasion. Most of these staff members are incompetent and lazy or they do jobs that have zero effect on the end product and are just leeches.
I worked for a company that had me working hybrid. Truth be told, I could do 100% of my job from home, there's no reason at all for me to go to the office whatsoever. The BS they fed me was "it's easier to support each other and you can build camaraderie and lasting relationships face-to-face." No, the reason is.… Exactly what Endymion said. All of that can be done from home. In fact, it would result in happier employees in the long run and a better sense of worklife balance. I hated that job.
the work at home trend just proved how many of those jobs were redundant and pointless. I worked as a teacher from home for a year and it was a disaster for education. there is a point to being together, otherwise the result is just the sum of parts, nothing more.
Teachers need to be in the classroom true it job that has done face to face, but I do think some jobs you can do from home. A good example is pure admin and paperwork, but the best I think is a mix of days at home and days in offices.
I worked from home 13 years until retirement. I probably could have worked well into my 70s. Low 6 figure income. IT in the banking biz. Software development. It was great. The company moved from 23 miles from me to 50 miles away from me. There's no need for face time 40 hours a week in what I did. The toughest part of the job was distractions. I never opened the blinds because of that, "Look, a squirrel!!!!". My sister works for an online education outfit. The students were remote before COVID. The outfit has existed in various guises for over 100 years and started as a correspondence school. Her office was 5 miles away. COVID starts. Work from home. Working that way worked out so well, they shut down the building and there's a for sale sign on it. There's no reason for top tier office space for cattle in a cube farm. I was cattle. The office was never in the high rent area to begin with. Back office people working in NYC is dumb. I have a nephew that worked in accounting for UPS in PA.. Didn't like it. Became a buyer for a small mom and pop defense contractor. Nice place, but mom and pop had all the top spots for the children. Applies for the same job at a Military Industrial Complex defense contractor in the DC area. Gets the job. Him and his GF (now wife) move to the VA 'burbs. He's a buyer for satellite parts. Lived 10 miles from the office. COVID starts. Works from the condo. Can't make enough to live decent in the DC area. Moved back to PA, still works for the same company in his house (which he can now afford). All he needs is an airport for business trips 3-4 times a year to the west coast. Has his security clearances and gets specs for stuff where he doesn't even know what it is going to be used for. He gets redacted documents. I'm mentioning that, because he is a part in your "sum of parts". That's how life usually works in the real world, and not the teaching profession.
@solarydays Nah but any job that requires communication is better when everyone is in person. Why am I going to bother answering my phone when i'm too busy watching a movie.
@@solarydays Don't BS. I know a lot of people that worked from home and they only spend about 2-4 hours actually working the rest of the time they're doing whatever they want. Thank you for letting me know that you're one of the worthless ones though... One of the reasons people site working from home is because they get to take care of their elderly parents or their children. So if they're doing that they aren't working...
Not arguing for or against work from home as a whole but I have question. Do you think there is a noticeable drop in the quality of products, industry wide, since the large work from home surge during and after COVID? As a consumer I would say Yes.
As always Endymion you are the voice of reason, you call it like you see it, no BS, no ethnicity, no sexual identity, just make a great game! Keep doing what you are doing, you are the light in the darkness…
My spouse was remote, work from home for 3 years, then everyone was forced to go back, productivity dropped by half. So they let everyone go back to remote, and now they rent building out. They had made so much money from rent, they renovated the building, and made spaces for workers to come in and work if they wanted to.
I think the best approach is a hybrid work environment where working from home is encouraged 80-90% of the time, and then going to the office once per week or when absolutely necessary. This should allow for less expensive building costs. For those that want to go to the office have a type of cube/office hoteling system where you reserve the day you need to go into the office.
My job has me come in twice a week and it really is the ideal for me. There are advantages and disadvantages of both working from home and in the office, and anyone who says one is universally better than the other is mistaken.
Just look it up. Working from home costs companies huge amounts as people will never work as hard from home. Every statistic available shows that the losses more than make up for any overhead costs a office creates. Working from home is a disaster for most companies. It also doesn't take a genius to realise that lazy people are a thousand times worse when working from home. Jobs are about making money for a business not something we have a right to, demanding that we should work from home is utterly ridiculous.
Great stuff as always @EndymionTv. Also, just a suggestion, can you book mark the games that play in your background....I'd like to know the name of the Japanese Yakuza game. Thanks bro. Keep up the great work. 👍🏽
When I was a kid I loved Asassins Creed 3 always dreamed on ubisoft making an ac game for the Philippines due to their common revolutionary history with AC3. But after seeing Ubisoft I am grateful we are voting with our wallets and not allowing a game like Shadows disrespecting Japanese culture.
No wonder they dont want to go back to the firm, They are scared to be surrounded by all the weirdos , and not understanding a thing they are saying, Sack the weirdos , Then enploy people who love and eat, sleep , and drinks Gaming.. NO DEI!!
There are only two kinds of employees left at Ubisoft. Those that support the agenda and those that are just riding it out as long as possible. Neither are victims.
The only victims are the people who funded these train wrecks without realizing they'd turn into this. Not the employees, and certainly not the companies.
On top of that, the Black Panther character was created a few years before the Party was founded in 1966 so if anything T'Challah inspired the name of the organization. Possibly.
Its disgusting that people can be this racist. I am not white, but i couldnt care less what other peoples skin looks like. Its like discriminating based on eye color, just stupid. We should judge people based on their character and ability, not be stuck in the same racist mindset as our ancestors.
What I find interesting about strikes, is that people dont, tend to think they could lose their jobs, under the pretense of causing damage to the company, and its properties. Which is the goal of a strike, Id say the only correct choice is firing everyone involved. Granted thats not realistic, sense if they did that, they'd have no one working for them. Personally if I owned a company, and I found out that an applicant, had a history of being involved in strikes, I wouldnt hire them. They would be considered a liability, and an advent trouble maker.
It will be funny if they are fired with cause for this. Not sure if that's possible in France but not showing up for work is definitely a reason to be fired
You only believe in ruling with an iron fist and lording over your employees, as though they're slaves that exist exclusively for your benefit? Remind me, why should I want to work for you?
@@jacobwilliams6365 first of all I dont own a company, that's a example scenario, second why you would you hire a known trouble maker, why would you hire someone you know, will cause trouble cause chaos in your workforce. Thats not a might thats a will, because they've done it before and they will do it again, its just a matter of time. So you're telling me that, you're looking at the applications, and your gonna skip the person who has a clean slate, and pick the person with a history of participating, in damaging actions against their former employers? I do not believe you would.
@@NoraIconiq I'd hire the person who can do the job. If that person is good, but has standards and expectations. Ones that s/he'd stand up for, then I'd consider that a cost of doing business. Productivity is why a business should function. Not the opportunity to hurt people for fun.
Everyone takes one look at these games and and how poor they look and their first thought is "what are they spending all that money on?" Seems obvious to me that these work from home devs all clock in and put in about an hour of work in and then screw off for the test of the day with all the ideological support groups they setup within the company. Coming back into the office will force them to do that on their own time. Its not just about paying for an office they dont use, its also about how inefficient their workers are at home for how much they are paying for them to act childish instead of putting actual work in
This is why I like the gaming community if there is something that is clearly wrong we will speak up about it and show the facts, also want to add when developers who have a agenda and push it into the game it is very clear to see I would ask that the owners of these companies seriously look inward and make decisions on whether or not they want to have a profitable company and start to actually hire people who have the expertise and experience
I do - competent navy, good air force , good soldiers and special forces, rly good military complex and civilian airliners are far, FAR better than boeing. They also sit between me and Germany, so if anything history taught us, that stronger France is safer Poland. XD
The primary reason why companies want their employees to work in one designated place have little to do with rent and more to do with basic logistics and basic operational security. Case in point, even something as simply as distributing office supplies becomes more complicated when you have to either send or "refund" whatever supplies used in dozens of locations instead of just one. The issue of communication is also not true. It is significantly easier to communicate with a person down the hall in person than doing it via phone or video call. The reason that they are taking care of children or the elderly is even more ridiculous because that is just admitting that they are not doing what they are being paid an exhirbitant amount of money to do. On top of that, people also seem to ignore that people usually don't like to work when they are unsupervised. This already happens a lot in the office, and it would happen even more when in the comfort of one's home.
If you employer says back to work its back to work and not we are striking. While i love that its hotting Ubisoft my industry rolled back the homeoffice overall and I understand why. If you dont have an agreement with the workers council supported by law its not your decision, end of story. The "T" in "Montpellier" is silent. Maybe the Ubisoft employees working from home are not working properly and being lazy ? Working from home opens the number of distractions, maybe that's the issue ? Or maybe they have communication issues that would be resolved by having people working in the same area ?
With Craig Duncan running Xbox Game Studios I can say goodbye in seeing Banjo Kazooie coming back unless if Toys For Bob or anyone under Xbox does it for them
To quote max0r’s Doom Eternal review: “In a world where major game studios try to pander to everyone (shows Ubisoft 😂) it’s refreshing to see a studio and its developers actually give a shit about what they are making and aim to do one thing the best.”
Seriously. It sounds like a bunch of adult children crying that they can't have what they want by staying home. Saying they have personal obligations like kids or whatever is nonsense, everyone in the literal world has to deal with juggling work and kids. Get tf over it and go to work like everyone else. As an Indian person I can tell you right now how the story was decided in Ubisoft office.
1. They probably read the one Indian myth that was close enough to global concepts like Illuminati so they can easily export the game worldwide (the actual myth goes that Samrat Vikramaditya divided the knowledge for future among 9 immortals so they can slowly distribute it to humanity in times of need, think like 9 weaker Emperors of Mankind from warhammer 40k, each knowledgeable in a single field like economics, warfare, engineering, etc)
2. They then proceed to make their own bland story where changing the names and character skins would change the game to ANY other ubisoft open world game, with only passing references to Indian culture (Much like Asscreed Shadows)
3. Make the protagonist woman and have her kill men
It is not a Ubisoft game, but definitely a SBI influenced one

It's bittersweet to watch the western games industry collapse in real time
It is needed to restructure and come back better
Not industry, just completely rotten thru top. Or bottom, depending on your point of view. There is more than enough studios making excellent games. In fact i mostly play indie games now, as they somehow tend to be better than AAA slop, for half or even third of the price.
Not a single tear would be shed for none of those rotten husks. Their glory days are long behind them and they have nobody but themselves to blame. Between all the games in my Steam library, that i havent even played yet, EA games that get regular updates and new indie titles, there is more than enough of experiences for any gamer.
Not all western game companies are involved in this stuff 😂
Gonna start a studio just to make anti-woke and “normal” games; make profit by catering to the consumers and then buy up all these cash printing IPs from these woke companies collapsing around us 😂

Racism toward white men that’s what is motivating them
The things is, if there are someone willing to offer you 1 Billion USD just for a single kidney from you, would you accept the deal?
BIack Rock is making that kind of deal to video game companies though.
That'd because it's never been about the money. It's about destroying your culture and the stories you love. It's about destruction.
They are being funded by shadow companies. There's a lot of behind the scenes things going on
"... paying someone to cut off a limb..." would be more accurate. Thats what esg and all that is. The promise of money for mutilating yourself.
The fact gamers are damn near universally rejecting giving this woke garbage by closing their wallets is friggin awesome.
Demand we buy Unknown 9.
Well I demand better game. See we both don't get what we want.
The modern audience can buy it
I’m honestly relieved to see this downfall.
This was my first thought as well and I’m almost 100% sure this is what it’s about.
they should quit.
@richbob9155 nah they're leaving the ship before it sinks completely. Ubisoft is a trash fire to the highest degree. As they say "get woke go broke"
It's not only to make them quit it's also so can fire them without paying anything for breach of contract (they don't have contract that let them work from home for the people that are asked to stop working from home)
Good point.
It's funny the title is 'Unknown 9' cause that encapsulates the number of how many moder audience that they're trying to find.
Anya Chalotra's face is nice to look at but the game is covering up her "assets" that got a double take in the witcher season 1 :D

As a Bengali, I am really disappointed with Unknown 9 Awakening's portrayal of Bengali Female Protagonist.
Too bad, according to them their cultural appropriation is OK.
Wait she’s supposed to be Bengali. What’s the story about.
Its not a Bengali woman, thats "generic girlboss 628 shade brown". Funny thing is that India have a lot of legendary female warriors, especially in southern India. But they won't make characters inspired by them, cause all of them were feminine.

Is she dressed such that her clothing hides her curves, or makes her appear more masculine?
Clothing is definately hiding any semblance of houerglass figure. Check!
Can she overpower men twice her weight with ease in a fistfight?

Anecdotally, a few friends I have that have been working from home since covid, have become completely recluse. They used to have healthy balanced lives and now they never leave their house and now that they are wanted to return to the office, its like their entire world is falling apart. Its almost impossible to get either of them to leave their house. They stay home all day consuming media on the internet and have developed some kind of social anxiety.

I hope more people walk out
I just want to say that 50% of people when they "work from home" actually work not 40 but 25-30 hour weeks. I know because I work in IT and can see the results. Some employees even work less than 10 hours some weeks. And it's not often feasible to put some sort of quotas for the output.
So the main reason corporations want everyone back in office is that they know that a lot of people cheat and work far less than they're supposed to.
Trusting human instinct is the worst thing a company could make
Agreed - I worked in both corporate offices and at home.
To be fair if people can achieve their work load in only 10-25 hours why does it matter?
I will be suffering right along with you🙏👍 Godspeed my friend

Pathetic company with even more pathetic staff. I hope Ubisoft just fires everyone on strike and tries to go back to hiring on merit and not political persuasion. Most of these staff members are incompetent and lazy or they do jobs that have zero effect on the end product and are just leeches.
Maybe Ubisoft should get used to the idea of not lasting much longer
I recall a newspaper article from the early 20th century. Buggy whip manufacturers were demanding that automobile owners buy buggy whips.
Bad time to go on strike, considering the state the company is in…they’re going to be making some layoffs real soon
And so close to holidays too yikes
@@EndymionTvyou know this is probably being pushed by Tencent to push Ubi to sell.

You’ve been on fire lately 🔥
Good job brother, wake these folks up to all the moving parts.
Keep calling out their bullshit my guy! I love the coverage and how you turned the tables on CDP red CEO. Good stuff man!
No wonder they dont want to go back to the firm, They are scared to be surrounded by all the weirdos , and not understanding a thing they are saying, Sack the weirdos , Then enploy people who love and eat, sleep , and drinks Gaming.. NO DEI!!
the ones striking are mostly the weirdos. Look at the videos, they even have their degenerate flags with them
I love that you put in FFXII cutscenes in the background. Please put more FFXII in the videos
Ubisoft panics, and us sane game players are celebrating.
Sadly, it's the employees at these woke companies are victims, no thanks to the higher ups.
There are only two kinds of employees left at Ubisoft. Those that support the agenda and those that are just riding it out as long as possible. Neither are victims.
Not at ubislop. There are only woke cultist left in there. All 18k of them. Otherwise there would be a pushback years ago.
The only victims are the people who funded these train wrecks without realizing they'd turn into this. Not the employees, and certainly not the companies.
They’ve been screwing over everybody who’s been buying their games for about a decade now, all of them deserve this
On top of that, the Black Panther character was created a few years before the Party was founded in 1966 so if anything T'Challah inspired the name of the organization. Possibly.
Frostpunk 2 > Unknown 9
I’ve seen that game on the market, is it a good game or does it have an agenda like the remainder of these games?
@@anonony9081 yeah I dont know about frances work policies, but over in the usa you can get fired simply for working too slow.
@@NoraIconiq I'd hire the person who can do the job. If that person is good, but has standards and expectations. Ones that s/he'd stand up for, then I'd consider that a cost of doing business.
Productivity is why a business should function. Not the opportunity to hurt people for fun.
Epic bit of news with this one! 100% on point!
Honestly, who cares what the French think
They always lose whether it’s a war or social change
@@EndymionTv I suppose they should transfer they’re assets to Ubisoft Quebec since they were part of the mainline Assassin’s Creed games
@@EndymionTvI wouldnt say that, fem°nism and w°ke ideology started from Fr*nce and judging by the current climate they arent exactly losing.

Those devs life in a dreamland and I wonder how many think they will end up in better jobs. Games industry is a very small business are compared banking for example, especially for specialists. I cant be the only one that thinks this isnt smart...
They actually took the "Women hate to see men relaxing and being happy" thing to a whole another level.
Ubisoft did this to themselves
lets be real, wfh productivity for most case is lower
The "T" in "Montpellier" is silent.
Maybe the Ubisoft employees working from home are not working properly and being lazy ? Working from home opens the number of distractions, maybe that's the issue ? Or maybe they have communication issues that would be resolved by having people working in the same area ?
Looks like the delay might become indefinite too. This one is likely the final, finishing blow.
With Craig Duncan running Xbox Game Studios I can say goodbye in seeing Banjo Kazooie coming back unless if Toys For Bob or anyone under Xbox does it for them
Keep TFB away from Banjo and Kazooie.
To quote max0r’s Doom Eternal review: “In a world where major game studios try to pander to everyone (shows Ubisoft 😂) it’s refreshing to see a studio and its developers actually give a shit about what they are making and aim to do one thing the best.”
So they came to the office to protest but can't do that to work?
Seriously. It sounds like a bunch of adult children crying that they can't have what they want by staying home. Saying they have personal obligations like kids or whatever is nonsense, everyone in the literal world has to deal with juggling work and kids. Get tf over it and go to work like everyone else.
Funny enough them striking is very likely just gonna sink ubi and push it right into tencent's hands, where they'll all get fired anyway.
@@stryker0ae it is France. Pretty sure they only have a 4-day work week to start with. I definitely wouldn't want to try and run a business in that country.
