I love swans, not for their "grace" but how they don't play. Ducks and geese will act goofy and friendly, but swans are business-matters only.
Actually,geese can get agressive too.They are just miniature,less beautiful versions of swans,a little less agressive however.

They're very territorial animals and will push smaller birds out of their area if there's a limited supply of food.
They're also very terrible at navigating suburban walkways and such, and prefer to live in the lakes and ponds that we humans just love to have dot our suburbs and cities.

There was a BIG, we talking MASSIVE Swan in like an outdoors pen just behind the football field close to the school I attended. Whenever you shoot the ball in to the pen, you had to get it... and you knew that you had to LEG IT!
This was no ordinary Swan, this was the thug swan of your nightmares. That bird had beaten up every boy in school, it attacked dogs and anyone that crossed its path. It had like 6 females he was protecting... And yes, he beat up big dogs too, even German Sheapards and rottweilers, that big-ass bird didn't give a f-! And the dogs had no chance... In fact, they all ran away when this white big-ass dragon was running towards them, sounding like a train coming at you at full speed with the horn at full blast! His wins were so big it blackened out the sun!
And what was the name of this Swan? "Pepe" ... yes, the same name as the psycho football player... but like 20 years before "Pepe" was playing at the highest level.

I don’t know what’s so scary about a hissing goose or a swan that makes people so scared but it is absolutely hilarious. You won’t be killed by one at most minorly annoyed and slightly inconvenienced
thought the same. I work on a farm and geese always hissing and pecking me, but its does not hurt through your clothes, and even on skin it just like a pinch. They can't bite you so bad like a dog or even a cat. It's all just show. Also in this video seems most of the people were teasing or annoying the swans....so they deserved it.
A swan can actually break your arm if he gets you right with his wing. They aren't that harmless.

Experiencing an attack by the big bird can be terrifying. Especially when it happens for you as a child when the bird is about the same size as you are. This happened for me once when I was 6 years old. I was on the vacation in the Canary Islands with my folks. While we visited for the local village, a peacock started to chase me furiously, just because I apparently went a bit too close to it's territory. Luckily, I managed to evade the bird with no injuries. 🙂
Sorry for the experience. I hope you aren't afraid of big birds now. The peacock probably was just protecting his loved ones. How is he supposed to know you aren't a threat? But a child wont be able to see that, so parent gotta be careful around wild animals. But as we can see in this video clearly a lot of parents aren't able to respect wild animals enough.

Can relate. I was attacked by a goose when I was about 3 years old. I still have a healthy fear of them.
Me and my brother got attacked by sea gulls when we were still children. We just ate our McDonald's menu outside on a table and we just saw two seagulls next to our table so we decided to give these two seagulls a part of our burger bun. But then a bunch of other seagulls that watched it all from somewhere else flew on our table trying to attack us for our food

Best way to approach is to keep your hands low and flat. Blink slowly and avoid direct eye contact, keep your voice at a higher, airy pitch. Just say things like "Hi, Hey. or Swan, Swan-Swan". If they let you get closer, don't try to tower over it, and if your lucky enough to be allowed a pet, pet the underside of their beak first. You will get bitten, but sometimes the swan will come back for more. They are delicate but fierce creatures that demand respect. Like cats.

Sometimes swans are jerks. I'm convinced those that live in parks or areas where they are used to regular people visitors, just rush at them to hear the screams. They know what TF they are doing.
But sometimes it is people who are the jerks. Sometimes swans are just minding their own business and people intrude on their space until they have to defend themselves. Especially if they have young ones close by.
I just wanted to do my daily walk and a swan started chasing me like crazy but it's literally the only path so now I'm too scared to walk there again and gotta plan a new route.

Swans are very aggressive and extremely territorial. They are most dangerous while in the water. They will whack you with their powers wings and legs while hitting at the same time. They are know to drown other animals including other water birds.
Wild animals are not pets. They are not here for our amusement. Animals are just minding their own lives, and trying to adapt to a life that is increasingly being made worse for them by the selfish blindness and stupidity of humans. Learn about animals, their behavior and needs, before you go anywhere into their territories. Learn what their needs are, and DON'T FEED, GIVE, OR LEAVE THEM HUMAN FOOD OF ANY KIND without first researching what their normal diet should be in the wild. Respect them as the independent creatures they are, and approach them with kindness and gentleness. They are our elder brothers and sisters -- they have been here longer than we have. They have a right to live their lives in peace, being exactly who they are... unmolested by us, and without our slapping any ridiculous expectations on them that they should be any different from what they naturally are.

I’ve hand fed several migratory Geese, Swans 🦢 but they never ever hissed or hurt me. They ate very gently, delicately from my hand & loved hugging!
They are defensive, protective when it comes to other people or animals defending themselves so the second they hiss or raise their feathers one has to move away! One has to respect Animals
I watched a couple of videos last night of paired swans doing their dance in beautiful ponds, I even cried a little cuz the music made me 😥 now i get this in my recommended and it's a whole new ball game. At least I know what they're really about now and to be wary if I ever come across any in my lifetime.
Some of those attacks could be prevented if people would respect the swans space.
treat Swans with RESPECT,
give them plenty of space,
don't shout or scream at them,
move slowly when near Swans,
NEVER go near their nests
or get between the Swan parents
and their precious cygnets
and IF you want to feed them
give them appropriate Duck/Swan food (NOT bread)
and not what you "think???" they "might???" like to eat.
