In actual greek mythology Hades is the only one of the three who actually does his job and isn't a complete dick. It's completely baffling that he's always portrayed as villainous in pop culture. I blame christian cultural influence (death, underworld → must be bad...)

Thank you! Finally someone clearing things up! Of course he wasn't a saint. No greek god was. But as you said, he did his job and he was always fair doing so. He maybe wasn't the most pleasant to be around, since he was mostly described to be bitter and gloomy, but to be honest: who wouldn't be, if your whole family is constantly picking on you, you get the worst job and your aren't even worshiped as much as your siblings by the people? And like it was already stated in the comments, he was basically the only major god who was actually faithful to his wife, not like a certain unnamed god who repeatedly runs around raping young women whereever he goes (*cough* Zeus *cough*).
@@flusel4949 If I remember correctly Hades never really did anything too bad in the myths. He was generally kinda chill. Like when Heracles went down to get Cerberus Hades was kina just like, "Sure go ahead, I'll be impressed if you can actually get my dog out". Or like with Orpheus, where he just sorta let it happen and the only reason Orpheus failed was cause he failed the one stipulation Hades gave him. And then yeah, the fact that he was actually faithful to his wife because he loved her, and that's why he MARRIED her! Like the other gods it's a bit iffy on why they're married and whatnot, but I think Hades was literally the only one to have had actively seek out the woman he wanted to marry cause that's the only person he wanted lol.
How are you so good at this? It seems almost every single person you cast in all these videos is so perfect or nearly so! You should be Hollywood's Go-to-man for this stuff. You obviously know what you are doing.
In response to people saying that Logan Kerman should be cast as Poseidon, I think that he should be cast as Triton, Poseidon's son and heir in the undersea court
that sounds so much better!! honestly he doesnt have the look of an aged god yet. and with being triton, he still gets to be the son of the sea god. makes so much more sense than casting him as apollo like other people have been suggesting
Honestly, I'd try and divorce this from the movies (which didn't go over well with the fans). If any of the actors involved were to be approached about returning, I feel like either Pierce Brosnan reprising his role as Chiron or having Lerman play Poseidon (which would mean skewing Poseidon significantly younger than Zeus and Hades, which is obviously not how the mythology works) would be the way to go, but it shouldn't be something anyone should be jumping to do,
I’ve got a a pet leave with how they clothed the gods. In the books they wore modern clothes which corasponed with their character. Putting them in armour made them all seem the same. They also cast pretty similar looking people so it’s harder to know who is who. Obviously this is a small thing in comparison to what the other things the movies got wrong but...
@@sarahchamberlain7062 that's a very interesting take, Hades as Ozai xDD I always pictured them in normal clothes, Poseidon in a hawaiian shirt /i think he wore hawaiian shirts in the books too, tho i dont remember/, Zeus in a suit to represent authority and wealth and all , idk about Hades but I remember I pictured Ares in leather
@@sarahchamberlain7062 While both Poseidon and Zeus wore more modern clothes, Hades was described to always be wearing robes that looked like they had the souls of the damned sewn right into them.
Usually actors work for a set amount of money per hour of work If they show up in only a few scenes, like zeus and hades do in the first series, then it could work After the first book those two barely show up
I honestly disagree with Josh as Zeus he's a great actor but I think that he would be a good Chronos because he of all the reasons you said and I think that he'd go to far with Zeus. I personally would've cast Ewan McGregor, he's a phenomenal actor and he can convey a wide range of emotions from trainspotting, I also think he brings enough of a presence to be noticed and seem in charge, he does also look like Zeus was described in the book.
I really like the choice of Luke Evans for Poseidon, I literally love him in every role he played and I want to see more of him. The other two I am not 100% down with but I don't hate them either.
I agree, however they don't necessarily have to be greek actors. In the books, the gods move with the seat of western power and they appearances and personalities change accordingly. So for Percy Jackson, casting Americans make perfect sense
All perfect choices for the Big Three. I was especially surprised when you chose Fassbender for Hades, but he’s just perfect for it. Brolin is a great choice for Zeus. Looking forward to the next one
I'd love to see you do something similar to this for the Eragon series of books, the one film we got was so disappointing and I feel like that series needs an incredible adaptation
Great casting in this video! Josh brolin would make an amazing zeus. Luke evans is so underrated (also he played Zeus in immortals lol). And I can’t get enough of Michael Fassbender.
I wouldnt mind him being in the show. The fan cast is mainly because hr mentioned somewhere that he wouldn't mind joining the new show as someone. So people are like, "yes! poseidon!"
I don't get why ppl want him in the show. He is a great actor, but the adaptation he was cast for was an abomination. Him having a cameo would be a reminder of that show
@@eli-boy7473 a lot of people would have grew up with him as Percy tho in the films, a lot of people would have been fans because of the films, then went on to read the books and realise the films are garbage, like me. Even tho the films are terrible I’d still like to see Logan as Poseidon and Alexandria daddario return as Athena, it would be a nice touch
@@cainewbank6929 i mean, coms down to taste i guess. I personally thought Logan Lerman is a great actor and i wouldn't mind a smaller cameo. For Alexander Daddario... i mean, she is super popular, saying anything against her is going to raise pitchforks, but i really hated her as Annabeth, she felt really cringy in the role
I am happy there is a Percy Jackson series coming. I hope for you’re next video, you pick a casting for Nico who I think deserves more credit alongside Thalia and Luke. Also I hope this series succeeds because I want to have a series of Heroes Of Olympus with characters like Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Hazel, Reyna and Octavianius. I really love the heroes of Olympus series as well so I really want Percy Jackson to succeed
I feel like Robert Sheehan (Klaus from the Umbrella Academy) would make an amazing Hades, he’s who I imagine when reading. His ability to be serious and kinda scary in his performances while still being very comedic and chaotic. He just embodies the character so well. He also looks like the description in the book.
If we can have Patrick Page as Hades (from Hadestown) play Hades again on screen, that would be amazing! His voice is deeper than the depths of Hell sooo... I could see it.
This comment is seriously underrated! Patrick Page would be perfect! For anyone not knowing who that is: Listen to the Hadestown album. Trust me, you instantly recognize Hades' voice.
@John Onnembo Very good ideas dude! However I would change a little the order of the movies, having the FF and Spider man movies coming first just to test the public reaction so then next movies can slowly build up for the avengers. "And spoiler. Spider-Man turns down the offer of avenger. But will be there if hes needed." That would be awesome, althoght, just to make a reference to Avengers EMH, when the avengers meet Spider man, they would give them a avengers card so they can call him when they need help. Then Spider man would say "Cool! Does this give me a discount anywhere?" and all the avengers just look at each other like "Did we just made the right choice?" "The depictions of the characters will be similar to the comics, avengers emh and X-men 90s series. " You could also add Spectacular Spider man (in my opinion the best version of Spider man ever).
@John Onnembo For the phase 2, I think the movies that could build up for the Masters of Evil are : Fantastic Four 2 It would be based on the "Negative Zone arc", having the FF going to the negative zone and being capture by Annihilus, who accuse them of invading his dimension after his cosmic rod. As the heroes try to escape they discover that the true invader is Doctor Doom, who wants to obtain Annihilus cosmic rod so he can become a god and take over the world. In the end the heroes are able to defeat Doom and return to their dimension, sealing Annihilus and his monsters in the Negative Zone forever. The post credit scene would have Reed reciving a message from himself, or rather a alternative version of him, warning to beware the Incursion, a event that will put in risk not just Earth but the whole universe. Spider-Man 2 It would be based on the "Nothing can stop the Juggernaut" storyline, with Juggernaut being replace by Rhino and the whole story would be Spider man try to find one way to defeat a enemy that is strong as him and able to resist all his attacks. Iron Man 2 The Demon in the bottle It would be based on "The demon in the bottle" storyline (my favorite comics of all), with villain being obadiah stane AKA the Iron Monger (with Madame Mask, Whiplash, Living Laser and Blizzard as henchmen). The plot would have him trying to take over Tony Stark's company, manipulating events that cause Tony to go on spyral and suffer with his alcoholism. But with the help of his friends, he would be able to overcome his personal problems and would defeat Obadiah Stane. The post credit scene would have Madame Mask being recruited by Zemo Hulk 2 Gamma World Based on Avengers EMH episode "Gamma World" it would be the "Arkham Asylum" of the Hulk, with Banner being contact by SHIELD to help them stop the Leader, who took over the Cube, a prision where they kept all criminals who have powers with radiation, and is using it's technology to create a device that turns people into gamma monsters. From that, the movie is the Hulk trying to destroy the Leader while fighting against his hechmen like Abomination, Absorving man, U-men and Zzzax. In the end, the Hulk defeats the Leader but, to stop a gamma bomb, the Hulk absorbs it's energy resulting in him dying in a explosion. However the end reveals that Banner is alive but now afraid or returning to his friends. The post credit scene would reveal that the Leader is alive as well but stuck in another dimension talking where he would see a weird green door, teasing the Immortal Hulk storyline for the third movie. The second post credit scene would have Zemo recruting Absorving man. Thor 2 Love & Thunder It would have Thor having balance his life as protector of Asgard and his relationship with Jane Foster and his role as hero of Earth. The villains would be the Enchantress (with Skurge and Fafnir as their henchmen). In the end, she would be defeated and would disappear in explosion, however the post credit scene would reveal that she was captured by Surtur, teasing him as the villain for Thor 3. The second post credit scene would have Zemo recruting Skurge to the masters of evil, promising him the change to take revenge against Thor for the "death" of Enchantress Captain America 2 Basically would be the plot of Captain America Winter Soldier, with a post credit scene of Zemo recruiting Cross bones to be part of the Masters of Evil. Avengers 2 It would be based on the Under Siege storyline, with Zemo creating the Masters of Evil (Zemo, Crossbones, Skurge, Madame Mask, Absorving man and Titania) and attacking the avengers one by one, forcing the heroes who escape to find a way to save their friend and defeat this group of villains. The post credit scene would have Kang arriving at 21st century. How would be the phase 2 of your MCU?
@John Onnembo I think they could be like this : Fantastic Four The movie would be a epic adventure film, based on FF first comic book apperance, with the Fantastic Four as family of scientists who gain their powers after a adventure in space. Back on Earth, they would learn to use their powers and would go on adventure to save the world from a invasion of underground monsters lead by the Mole Man, embracing their roles as family of heroes. The post credit scene would introduce Doctor Doom. Captain America Basically the same plot as Captain America First Avenger, with one major difference : Besides Bucky and the Howlling Commandos, Cap would also have as ally a certain canadian soldier. Iron Man Basically the same plot as the first Iron man with one difference : The villain would be Anton Vanko, one of the scientist who Stark fires after his decision to stop making weapons. Angry at him, Vanko would make his own armor and become the villain Crismon Dynamo. Thor Similar to the first Thor movie, although in this version, Thor is not banished from Asgard. He comes to Earth and after saving a group of humans from a street gang and falling in love with the nurse Jane Foster, he decides to stay on the planet, believing he can make a difference there, which causes some arguments with Odin. Taking advantage of his brother absent and Odin falling in the Odin's sleep, Loki would steal the Odin force and use it give power to the street gang, turning them into the Wrecking Crew, so they can kill his brother while he would take over Asgard's throne. While Thor deals with the Wrecking Crew, Balder, Sif and the three warriors are able to save Heimdall and use the Bifrost to bring Thor to Asgard and they would team up to defeat Loki, who is seemsly killed in the battle. However, Loki survived and would be found by a group of aliens know as the Chitauri, who he would convice to join him in his plan to conquer Earth. Hulk I wouldn't change much from the Edward Norton movie, which is one the most underrated MCU movies of all, although I would keep Hulk's origin like in the comics, with a atomic bomb and the movie would also have Rick Jones and Doc Samson (who at first would be working for Ross, believing that the goverment wants the Hulk so they can cure him, but in the end he would discover that they want him to turn the monster into a weapon, causing Samson to help Banner). Antman and Wasp It would showcase the relationship of Hank Pym and Janet, as these two go from scientists who discover the Pym Particules to a couple of super heroes, using their powers to fight against Whirlwind. Spider-Man It would be based on the Spectacular Spider man series and the villain would be Electro, who would start as Peter's friend from school, who suffers a accident that transform him into a monster of eletricity. He would then try to cure himself using any means necessary, forcing Peter to fight him before he hurts anyone. Avengers (v. Loki) I would keep the same plot as the movie, with the main difference be that instead of Black Widow and Hawkeye (the first one would have her own movie in the phase 2) it would be Ant Man and Wasp instead. The post credit scene would showcase Kang witnessing his future being destroyed and most of his allies, including his wife being erased from existence. To save his people he would decide to travel back in time.
@John Onnembo The second X-men movie could be a adaptation of the "Mutant Massacre" with the x-men fighting against Mister Sinister. During this movie there would be the introduction of three new members : Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde and Wolverine. However, Logan's first apperance would be in a TV series with his first season adapting the animated movie "Hulk vs Wolverine". It would have Logan being sent by the canadian goverment to hunt down the Hulk after he caused some destruction in the country. But, as the plot progress, Logan discovers that Hulk is actually being hunt down by Weapon X, resulting in the two rivals teaming up so Logan can settle some old business.
@John Onnembo The first x-men movie would be based on the "Giant size x-men 1", having Kitty Pryde acting as the surrogate character, as she discover her powers and joins the xavier school, meeting the x-men, both the teachers (Xavier, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast and Storm) as well as her classmates ( Angel, Iceman, Nightcrawler and Colossus). The movie would be a My Hero Academy with the X-men, showcasing the young heroes learning from the old generation how to become the next generation of x-men. The villain of the story would be Krakoa, who, much like in the comics, would kidnap the original x-men, minus Cyclops and Storm. In order to save their friends, the two would lead the young heroes in a mission to defeat Krakoa and rescue the older x-mens. In the end, they are able to reunite with their teamates and discover that Krakoa is not evil, just a poor desperate mutant uncapable of controling it's powers. This adventure would make Xavier decide in the end to reveal the existence of his school to the world, resulting in many mutants now knowing that there's a place where they can find help. As for the Agent of Shield TV series, I think it should be a series or movies focusing on heroes who work for SHIELD, like Black Widow, Hawkeye or Spider Woman.
I have loved you videos all along. With Percy Jackson, which needs to be redone, the topic hits my wheelhouse of interest. Even within the books' spin, the Big Three are still in their proper birth order. Leaving out the three goddesses/sisters, it goes Hades, Poseidon, and then Zeus. Zeus is actually the baby of the "family". Hades is the way he is even in the books because he got shafted in the dispersal of realms. All this is to say, Hades should look older than the other two, while Zeus should be the youngest looking of them. By all means they should look relatively the same age range. Beyond my nitpicking, I am enjoying your take on casting.
i honestly think oscar issac should be possiden he has that kingly look and he looks Mediterranean look and fits the dad role very well as we see from dune
For me, I would love to see Mads Mikkelsen as Hades. His work as hannibal has proven he can play cruel but has the range to be gentle like hades can be in the books.
When I read the books as a kid I've always imagined russell crowe as poseidon he has the look for me and the calm soft fatherly demeanor but he can also be strong and regal and even threatening feel
I am IN LOVE with your casting ideas for Zeus and Poseidon. But I am not too sure about Hades. The actor has definitely experience in playing a character who's just like hades, but he just doesn't look Hades-like. In my opinion he'd need darker and longer hair, lighter skinn and his headshape doesn't really fit the picture I have of hades. But Zeus and Poseidon were just *cheffs kiss*
I really love how you think everything trough and do all the researche. I would love if Rick sees your videos and actually considers to try to contact these actors (with normal auditions conected to it)
personally i would have chosen jason mamoa for poseiden. i know it’s sort of a cop out with aqua man but the dude looks like greek god. his voice is amazing and he has the range for funny caring serious and strong
I'm not so sure with Poseidon... Percy constantly say that the only think he remembers of his father is the sensation of a embracing and warmth smile... and the only actor who came to my mind is Santiago Cabrera
Honestly, my first choice for Hades would be Adam driver. But now that you mention it might be a little young for the role. Michael Fassbender is an inspired choice though.
Quick Suggestion: jon bernthal as Ares. He seems like an actor who can do cool guy, kinda like Lee Iacocca in Ford v Ferrari. However, when the mask comes off, he is the punisher... so he can do anger and war.
Poseidon - Luke Evans, James McAvoy , Jude Law or Hugh Jackman Hades - Bennedict Cumberbatch or Mads Mikelson Zeus - Josh Brolin or Gerard Butler (Sean Bean if he hadn't already done it) Apollo - Bradley James Hermes - Grant Gustin Hephaestus - David Harbour Dionysius - Danny Devito or Jack Black Ares - Travis Fimmel Hera - Jennifer Connely
Roles that need to be cast (Spoilers ahead because I give reasons why we need to see these characters cast) Based on previous list I posted last episode, but I have tried to trim it down to characters that are important or require a significant presence on screen. Campers: Nico di Angelo (He plays a major role in the 4th and 5th books as well as multiple series after this) Clarisse LaRue (plays a major part in 2nd & 5th books) Tyson (Influential character in both 2nd & 4th books) Background Campers & Nature Spirits: Selina Beauregard (She was a spy for Luke but lost her boyfriend to the war and eventually sacrificed herself to stop the side she was spying for) Charles Beckendorf (We need to see this character alive for his sacrifice to mean something) Michael Yew (He was one of the major deaths in The Last Olympian) Connor and Travis Stoll (The sons of Hermes who lead Hermes cabin after Luke's betrayal, they are not twins despite what some sources would have you believe) Juniper (Grover's girlfriend) Lee Fletcher (Head of the Apollo cabin until he died at the battle of the Labyrinth) Will Solace (The head of the Apollo cabin after Michael Yew went missing, he was the one trying to heal Annabeth from the stab wound in The Last Olympian) Hunters of Artemis: Thalia Grace (Prominent roles in books 3 & 5, her original death is a major plot point) Bianca di Angelo (Aside from her major role in TTC, she also appeared as a ghost in BOTL) Zöe Nightshade (Her death in TTC is one of the first in the Titan War, and she was a lieutenant of Artemis) People who sided with the Titans: Luke Castellan (Major role in all books, becomes host of Kronos) Ethan Nakamura (His conflicted nature is an extremely interesting plot point) Atlas (2nd Antagonist of TTC) Hyperion (Flashy and arrogant character who was defeated in an almost anticlimactic manner, needs someone who can portray all of that) Prometheus (Fairly brief role in TLO where he shows himself to be calculating but admits he has a grudge against Zeus, he needs to steal the scene he's in) Gods: The remaining 10 Olympians (Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Artemis, Apollo, Hermes, & Dionysus) Hestia (She should be in the background multiple times at CHB throughout the books, and her role in TLO needs to show her tolerance, and practical wisdom while maintaining an appearance of youth) Pan (mentioned throughout the series, he dies in book 4 in an important scene) The Fates (Mostly a cameo role, but they are important) Monsters & miscellaneous Antagonists: The Furies (Mrs. Dodds and her two siblings) Medusa (The first major monster Percy meets on his quest in TLT, an ex of Poseidon who Athena cursed, she really needs to give all that character in the scene she's in) Echidna (Mother of all monsters, has a personality like Umbridge, she should appear way more powerful than we assume, her appearance is one of the few times that Percy objectively loses a major fight - sure he has had to evade monsters because they are clearly going to win in a fight, but this is a scene where he tries to fight and just gets completely outclassed) Circe (her island appears in SOM,a powerful sorceress, she needs to have the faux kindness combined with ruthlessness, much like Medusa, but she needs to have some age since she is the aunt of Medea) Polyphemus (The cyclops who had the Golden fleece, 2nd antagonist of SOM, needs to be a slightly comedic role) King Minos (Both for the dream sequence and his ghost, 2nd antagonist of BOTL) Miscellaneous Characters and Mortals: Sally Jackson (Percy's mother, she needs to look at least a little like the actor you chose for Percy, she is intelligent and perceptive) Chiron (The original mentor character, he needs to seem very wise and aged, but not yet have gray hair) Rachel Elizabeth Dare Quintus a.k.a. Daedalus (We need 2 actors for this role. One for the 5th body who appears in modern day, and one for the one from ancient times) Calypso (Her character is tragic, and she needs to appear peaceful but willing to hold a grudge, and intelligent yet slightly naive) Paul Blofis Hercules (He appears in a couple flashback scenes, and Percy gets compared to him multiple times in TTC, before rejecting the comparison, so Hercules needs to have that arrogance and the strength to back it up that define him)
Hey maybe after recasting Percy Jackson you could recast video games like GOD OF WAR UNCHARTED TOMB RAIDER LAST OF US MORTAL KOMBAT MEATL GEAR DEVIL MAY CRY RESIDENT EVIL
Oh, and I thought of a new topic. This is just for fun and a bit of a hypothetical, but recast the MCU, but if made in the mid-60s to early 80s. I got this topic when someone asked what if Adam West's Batman, Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman and Christopher Reeve's Superman, crossover together and formed the Justice League? I mean think of all the possibilities. Also, creating such a project can actually change film history for good, especially when all the production comes to place, a series like this in the time period would require so many practical effects, matte paintings, multi-pass exposers, and whatever visuals possible. Maybe green screen doesn't need to be used. As for casting, this would lead to even more possible ways to influence movie history. So lets start of with Iron Man. If you're interested in this first casting I'll go further with more castings like Captain America, Hulk and Thor. So Iron Man: Tony Stark/Iron Man: I went with Charles Bronson. He's in his 40s at that time and I know he's known for playing in westerns as vigilante characters but maybe this time he can allow himself to break type-casting. And in his roles, he plays characters who have confidence like how Tony Stark would. But also, I'd like to see a version of Tony Stark who is on a mission but feels he needs others and would in the future be a teacher for Peter Parker. James Rhodes/War Machine: I went with Sidney Poitier. Ever since he did In The Heat of The Night, he shoulds that he can be a leader and make friendship with others even when they don't agree. Happy Hogan: I went with a comedian for this role, Rodney Dangerfield. I know he's known for only late night TV at that time, but I think if he did something like this at that time, he probably would be incredible, though he would need to get in shape for the role. I don't want the series to be humorless and I think this character can brighten up things. Pepper Potts: A hard one, but I went with Mareen O'Hara. I remember her from Miracle on 34th Street and The Parent Trap. But throughout most her career, she shows she can play characters that have the passion a character like Pepper Potts has. So there you have it, for right now. If you or anyone sees this as interesting, like and comment down below your thoughts and I'll continue and do Iron Man villians and then the other Avengers.
After reading the heroes of Olympus series with the roman camp, I've always imagined Daniel Sunjata to be Hades, especially when he's clean shaven. Kinds looks like the evil magician in the princess and the frog. Something about their tall lankiness and the biracial mix.
I’m glad you understand the characters because most creators messed up characters trying to make them more iconic I really want you to cast the new avatar series or Percy Jackson reboot
I would've loved mediterrenean actors for the gods, some spanish men like Banderas or Bardem or some italian or portuguese men, but i love these choices. (although i would LOVE Lerman as Poseidon, considering he's grown out his hair and it is the perfect mixture of grey and black hair)

Also I always imagine hades as ozai from avatar the last airbender
@@sarahchamberlain7062 that's a very interesting take, Hades as Ozai xDD I always pictured them in normal clothes, Poseidon in a hawaiian shirt /i think he wore hawaiian shirts in the books too, tho i dont remember/, Zeus in a suit to represent authority and wealth and all , idk about Hades but I remember I pictured Ares in leather
@@yonicorn1641 yeah he did wear Hawaiian T-shirt’s
@@sarahchamberlain7062
While both Poseidon and Zeus wore more modern clothes, Hades was described to always be wearing robes that looked like they had the souls of the damned sewn right into them.
@@Blitzvonic Percy had inner monologue that some of the souls ended up being Hades' underwear.
Me: Fassbender as Hades would be great
him: *casts fassbender as Hades*
me: wait can you hear me
What about Ian Somerhalder?
@@-cosmixnebulae-7398 He would be a great choice as well
The real question is can they afford these actors with whatever the budget ends up for the series lol
Usually actors work for a set amount of money per hour of work
If they show up in only a few scenes, like zeus and hades do in the first series, then it could work
After the first book those two barely show up
It's Disney they have unlimited moneys
@@Skuldug but will they spend their money on this series tho... that's to question
@@andreluiz6023 if they market it right and make it good they have nothing to fear, so yeah they're in the clear
@@Skuldug Came here to say exactly that!
Lance Reddick as Zeus
I really like the choice of Luke Evans for Poseidon, I literally love him in every role he played and I want to see more of him. The other two I am not 100% down with but I don't hate them either.
Toby Stephens for Poseidon
Me when you were recasting sirius black: James Mcavoy?
You: Luke Evans
Me when you were recasting posseidon: James McAvoy?
You: Luke Evans
😂😂
James McAvoy is just a less attractive Luke Evans but a better actor.
James Mcavoy could be posseidon could be hades. I like he be hades a lot tho
@@SanFranFan30 yeah deffinetly
Have to admit, I’ve never gotten “godly vibes” from James McAvoy. Love his acting but he just doesn’t have that chiseled look
@@Wydrobb fair enough
Josh brolin as Zeus sounds AWESOME! It's just to bad there aren't that many famous Greek actors.
I agree, however they don't necessarily have to be greek actors. In the books, the gods move with the seat of western power and they appearances and personalities change accordingly. So for Percy Jackson, casting Americans make perfect sense
True, only one I can think of is Jason Mantzoukas, but he looks more like Hades from the original movies.
Logan Lerman could play and adult Percy Jackson. He was perfect for the role but he didn't have the right age and a good screen writer.
All perfect choices for the Big Three. I was especially surprised when you chose Fassbender for Hades, but he’s just perfect for it. Brolin is a great choice for Zeus. Looking forward to the next one
imagine gordan ramsay as zeus
Zeus: Everything is perfectly balanced.
@@elijahvo7550 Lance Reddick as Zeus
I'd love to see you do something similar to this for the Eragon series of books, the one film we got was so disappointing and I feel like that series needs an incredible adaptation
Not to mention Chronicles of Narnia.
Yes!!!! Do eragon!!!!
I love your casting of Zeus and Poseidon
Great casting in this video! Josh brolin would make an amazing zeus. Luke evans is so underrated (also he played Zeus in immortals lol). And I can’t get enough of Michael Fassbender.
already see Josh Brolin as Zeus and can already tell: great choice!
Lance Reddick as Zeus
I like the idea of Matthew Rhys for Hades, phenomenal actor.
Oooooh I like that casting choice. Perfect voice for the role too. I had Chiwetel Ejiofor, but this would be very acceptable.
If Keri Russell would cameo as Persephone that’d be great too. She could play a slightly scarier Persephone ‘the destroyer’.
@@noemiecansier8466 I had Emilia Clarke, so I think we both had the same idea LOL
Lee Pace. Just... Lee Pace.
I dont know why but for some reason I love the idea of Matt Smith as Hades
Wow, they really do look like they could be brothers! Good job!!
Adam Driver should be Hades, he can play a dark mysterious figure with an angry and bitter disposition
I WANT LOGAN LERMAN TO PLAY HERMES. BOTTOM LINE, 100% HE NEEDS TO. HE FITS THE DESCRIPTION PERFECTLY AND IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE.
Literally stopped what I was doing to watch these I really like ur videos
Me tooo
Also, THANK YOU. I hate the fan-cast of Logan Lerman as Poseidon
I don't think it's the best idea, but wouldn't be entirely against it happening.
Loving this, god I can’t wait for the new show!
Oscar Isaac would’ve also been a great Poseidon!
Oh I like that soooo much more than Luke Evans
It was between him and evans, I also liked Aiden Turner as a younger Poseidon
Aidan Turner and Oscar Isaacs are great choices, I feel they could balance both gravitas and goofy blowfish jokes.
Oscar Isaac could be Paul Blofis...
That’s literally who I picture when reading the books
Logan Lerman as Triton!
Now THAT is perfect
YES!!!
Yes!
Yassss!
DAM YES
Please do Artemis Fowl soon!! That "movie" was an abomination!
Let us not speak of that...thing. Let it be cast down alongside the PJO films and dragonball evolution.
It truly was.
It's as great a film as Avatar
As a long time Percy Jackson fan, allow me to pass down the wisdom we learned from the Avatar fandom.
What movie?
@@Jack-zz7bc
Excatly.
To be fair, Hades isn't the bad guy or really all that bad in the mythology.
Oh girl, YES I was just thinking about Hadestown, when I watched this! XD
This comment is seriously underrated! Patrick Page would be perfect! For anyone not knowing who that is: Listen to the Hadestown album. Trust me, you instantly recognize Hades' voice.
If Josh Brolin play Zeus, then I guess Percy's first adventure should be "Percy jackson and the Gauntlet Thief"
@John Onnembo Very good ideas dude! However I would change a little the order of the movies, having the FF and Spider man movies coming first just to test the public reaction so then next movies can slowly build up for the avengers.
"And spoiler. Spider-Man turns down the offer of avenger. But will be there if hes needed."
That would be awesome, althoght, just to make a reference to Avengers EMH, when the avengers meet Spider man, they would give them a avengers card so they can call him when they need help. Then Spider man would say "Cool! Does this give me a discount anywhere?" and all the avengers just look at each other like "Did we just made the right choice?"
"The depictions of the characters will be similar to the comics, avengers emh and X-men 90s series. "
You could also add Spectacular Spider man (in my opinion the best version of Spider man ever).
@John Onnembo For the phase 2, I think the movies that could build up for the Masters of Evil are :
Fantastic Four 2
It would be based on the "Negative Zone arc", having the FF going to the negative zone and being capture by Annihilus, who accuse them of invading his dimension after his cosmic rod.
Spider-Man 2
It would be based on the "Nothing can stop the Juggernaut" storyline, with Juggernaut being replace by Rhino and the whole story would be Spider man try to find one way to defeat a enemy that is strong as him and able to resist all his attacks.
Iron Man 2 The Demon in the bottle
It would be based on "The demon in the bottle" storyline (my favorite comics of all), with villain being obadiah stane AKA the Iron Monger (with Madame Mask, Whiplash, Living Laser and Blizzard as henchmen). The plot would have him trying to take over Tony Stark's company, manipulating events that cause Tony to go on spyral and suffer with his alcoholism. But with the help of his friends, he would be able to overcome his personal problems and would defeat Obadiah Stane.
The post credit scene would have Madame Mask being recruited by Zemo
Hulk 2 Gamma World
Based on Avengers EMH episode "Gamma World" it would be the "Arkham Asylum" of the Hulk, with Banner being contact by SHIELD to help them stop the Leader, who took over the Cube, a prision where they kept all criminals who have powers with radiation, and is using it's technology to create a device that turns people into gamma monsters.
Thor 2 Love & Thunder
It would have Thor having balance his life as protector of Asgard and his relationship with Jane Foster and his role as hero of Earth. The villains would be the Enchantress (with Skurge and Fafnir as their henchmen). In the end, she would be defeated and would disappear in explosion, however the post credit scene would reveal that she was captured by Surtur, teasing him as the villain for Thor 3.
The second post credit scene would have Zemo recruting Skurge to the masters of evil, promising him the change to take revenge against Thor for the "death" of Enchantress
Captain America 2
Basically would be the plot of Captain America Winter Soldier, with a post credit scene of Zemo recruiting Cross bones to be part of the Masters of Evil.
Avengers 2
It would be based on the Under Siege storyline, with Zemo creating the Masters of Evil (Zemo, Crossbones, Skurge, Madame Mask, Absorving man and Titania) and attacking the avengers one by one, forcing the heroes who escape to find a way to save their friend and defeat this group of villains.
The post credit scene would have Kang arriving at 21st century.
How would be the phase 2 of your MCU?
@John Onnembo I think they could be like this :
Fantastic Four
The movie would be a epic adventure film, based on FF first comic book apperance, with the Fantastic Four as family of scientists who gain their powers after a adventure in space. Back on Earth, they would learn to use their powers and would go on adventure to save the world from a invasion of underground monsters lead by the Mole Man, embracing their roles as family of heroes.
The post credit scene would introduce Doctor Doom.
Captain America
Basically the same plot as Captain America First Avenger, with one major difference : Besides Bucky and the Howlling Commandos, Cap would also have as ally a certain canadian soldier.
Iron Man
Basically the same plot as the first Iron man with one difference : The villain would be Anton Vanko, one of the scientist who Stark fires after his decision to stop making weapons. Angry at him, Vanko would make his own armor and become the villain Crismon Dynamo.
Thor
Similar to the first Thor movie, although in this version, Thor is not banished from Asgard.
Hulk
I wouldn't change much from the Edward Norton movie, which is one the most underrated MCU movies of all, although I would keep Hulk's origin like in the comics, with a atomic bomb and the movie would also have Rick Jones and Doc Samson (who at first would be working for Ross, believing that the goverment wants the Hulk so they can cure him, but in the end he would discover that they want him to turn the monster into a weapon, causing Samson to help Banner).
Antman and Wasp
It would showcase the relationship of Hank Pym and Janet, as these two go from scientists who discover the Pym Particules to a couple of super heroes, using their powers to fight against Whirlwind.
Spider-Man
It would be based on the Spectacular Spider man series and the villain would be Electro, who would start as Peter's friend from school, who suffers a accident that transform him into a monster of eletricity. He would then try to cure himself using any means necessary, forcing Peter to fight him before he hurts anyone.
Avengers (v. Loki)
I would keep the same plot as the movie, with the main difference be that instead of Black Widow and Hawkeye (the first one would have her own movie in the phase 2) it would be Ant Man and Wasp instead.
Michael Fassbender as Hades is literal perfect casting. I'll never be able to think of Hades as anyone else.
Also Hades should have almost albino like skin, as described in the books.
I can truly imagine these characters as their individual roles
Jason Mamoa as Poseidon
...cause he is the freaking AQUAMAN lol
Always a joy to watch
Now I'm obsessed with the idea of Josh Brolin as Zeus thanks for that
Lance Reddick as Zeus
The hades that was casted in the PJO movie, suited the role of Dionysus more
i honestly think oscar issac should be possiden he has that kingly look and he looks Mediterranean look and fits the dad role very well as we see from dune
For me, I would love to see Mads Mikkelsen as Hades. His work as hannibal has proven he can play cruel but has the range to be gentle like hades can be in the books.
Love that you're using the compendium art !!!
When I read the books as a kid I've always imagined russell crowe as poseidon he has the look for me and the calm soft fatherly demeanor but he can also be strong and regal and even threatening feel
Oh, I love that. It would be great too
I love all three of these actors and casting choices
I am IN LOVE with your casting ideas for Zeus and Poseidon. But I am not too sure about Hades. The actor has definitely experience in playing a character who's just like hades, but he just doesn't look Hades-like. In my opinion he'd need darker and longer hair, lighter skinn and his headshape doesn't really fit the picture I have of hades. But Zeus and Poseidon were just *cheffs kiss*
Awesome choices!!!
amazing choices. Fassbender is definitely my favourite choice of these three
I have never seen a more perfect casting, they would absolutely nail those roles.
I honestly think they should do the Rock as Ares if you ask me 🙋🏽♀️
I like Luke Evans as Poseidon but I think Misha Collins would also be great in that role. But that's just my opinion :)
Toby Stephens as Poseidon
Chris Hemsworth as Zeus (if only because he's basically done the Thunder God job in the MCU).
I wanna see Green Lantern Corps next potentially
All three of these actors are amazing and I love them wholeheartedly
Agreed with posiden!!!
Please PLEASE do the Kane Chornicals recast too?
Don't forget that they become downright childish sometimes when they are arguing with each other.
This is the best casting I’ve ever seen you do
3:05 .....as he is in every other such role he's played😍
Can we all agree that Michael Sheen should play Mr. D?
gosh i just love these picks, they are fabulous
I really love how you think everything trough and do all the researche. I would love if Rick sees your videos and actually considers to try to contact these actors (with normal auditions conected to it)
I've always thought Joaquin Phoenix would make a perfect Hades
Keep this up man. You earned another subscriber. Hopefully you'll continue this series.
Great video!
Those three actors fit the Big Three roles like a glove!
Looking forward to future videos!
Alan Rickman (may he Rest In Peace) would have been the perfect Hades.
personally i would have chosen jason mamoa for poseiden. i know it’s sort of a cop out with aqua man but the dude looks like greek god. his voice is amazing and he has the range for funny caring serious and strong
I'm not so sure with Poseidon... Percy constantly say that the only think he remembers of his father is the sensation of a embracing and warmth smile... and the only actor who came to my mind is Santiago Cabrera
I was kinda thinking Orlando Bloom, based on his role as Will Turner
I’m new to the book series and this casting is perfect in all of my opinion
Wow....loved the caste
Honestly, my first choice for Hades would be Adam driver. But now that you mention it might be a little young for the role. Michael Fassbender is an inspired choice though.
I hope you get to Hero’s of Olympus after each book of PJO. I love this series and I like the picks you have so far
This was just absolutely flawless. Wouldn't have had it any other way
Your casting videos are always so on point!
Fassbender is the go to fan cast for so many iconic roles
I think Jeff Goldbloom could do an amazing hades, but josh broilin as Zeus is genius
Lance Reddick as Zeus
Quick Suggestion: jon bernthal as Ares. He seems like an actor who can do cool guy, kinda like Lee Iacocca in Ford v Ferrari. However, when the mask comes off, he is the punisher... so he can do anger and war.
Adam Copeland as Ares
You find the perfect fit for every role. I was thinking Josh Brolin as Zeus too.
Lance Reddick as Zeus
When it got to Hades, I almost thought you where going to say Red Skull lol. I think Hugo Weaving would been good too.
Poseidon - Luke Evans, James McAvoy , Jude Law or Hugh Jackman
Hades - Bennedict Cumberbatch or Mads Mikelson
Zeus - Josh Brolin or Gerard Butler (Sean Bean if he hadn't already done it)
Apollo - Bradley James
Hermes - Grant Gustin
Hephaestus - David Harbour
Dionysius - Danny Devito or Jack Black
Ares - Travis Fimmel
Hera - Jennifer Connely
I have a feeling next video is going to be ms dodds, Sally jackson, gabe, medusa, and possibly chiron, mr d, and luke
The moment you said Michael Fassbender you had me, my man.
Roles that need to be cast (Spoilers ahead because I give reasons why we need to see these characters cast)
Based on previous list I posted last episode, but I have tried to trim it down to characters that are important or require a significant presence on screen.
Campers:
Nico di Angelo (He plays a major role in the 4th and 5th books as well as multiple series after this)
Clarisse LaRue (plays a major part in 2nd & 5th books)
Tyson (Influential character in both 2nd & 4th books)
Background Campers & Nature Spirits:
Selina Beauregard (She was a spy for Luke but lost her boyfriend to the war and eventually sacrificed herself to stop the side she was spying for)
Charles Beckendorf (We need to see this character alive for his sacrifice to mean something)
Michael Yew (He was one of the major deaths in The Last Olympian)
Connor and Travis Stoll (The sons of Hermes who lead Hermes cabin after Luke's betrayal, they are not twins despite what some sources would have you believe)
Juniper (Grover's girlfriend)
Lee Fletcher (Head of the Apollo cabin until he died at the battle of the Labyrinth)
Will Solace (The head of the Apollo cabin after Michael Yew went missing, he was the one trying to heal Annabeth from the stab wound in The Last Olympian)
Hunters of Artemis:
Thalia Grace (Prominent roles in books 3 & 5, her original death is a major plot point)
Bianca di Angelo (Aside from her major role in TTC, she also appeared as a ghost in BOTL)
Zöe Nightshade (Her death in TTC is one of the first in the Titan War, and she was a lieutenant of Artemis)
People who sided with the Titans:
Luke Castellan (Major role in all books, becomes host of Kronos)
Ethan Nakamura (His conflicted nature is an extremely interesting plot point)
Atlas (2nd Antagonist of TTC)
Hyperion (Flashy and arrogant character who was defeated in an almost anticlimactic manner, needs someone who can portray all of that)
Prometheus (Fairly brief role in TLO where he shows himself to be calculating but admits he has a grudge against Zeus, he needs to steal the scene he's in)
Gods:
The remaining 10 Olympians (Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Artemis, Apollo, Hermes, & Dionysus)
Hestia (She should be in the background multiple times at CHB throughout the books, and her role in TLO needs to show her tolerance, and practical wisdom while maintaining an appearance of youth)
Pan (mentioned throughout the series, he dies in book 4 in an important scene)
The Fates (Mostly a cameo role, but they are important)
Monsters & miscellaneous Antagonists:
The Furies (Mrs. Dodds and her two siblings)
Medusa (The first major monster Percy meets on his quest in TLT, an ex of Poseidon who Athena cursed, she really needs to give all that character in the scene she's in)
Echidna (Mother of all monsters, has a personality like Umbridge, she should appear way more powerful than we assume, her appearance is one of the few times that Percy objectively loses a major fight - sure he has had to evade monsters because they are clearly going to win in a fight, but this is a scene where he tries to fight and just gets completely outclassed)
Circe (her island appears in SOM,a powerful sorceress, she needs to have the faux kindness combined with ruthlessness, much like Medusa, but she needs to have some age since she is the aunt of Medea)
Polyphemus (The cyclops who had the Golden fleece, 2nd antagonist of SOM, needs to be a slightly comedic role)
King Minos (Both for the dream sequence and his ghost, 2nd antagonist of BOTL)
Miscellaneous Characters and Mortals:
Sally Jackson (Percy's mother, she needs to look at least a little like the actor you chose for Percy, she is intelligent and perceptive)
Chiron (The original mentor character, he needs to seem very wise and aged, but not yet have gray hair)
Rachel Elizabeth Dare
Quintus a.k.a. Daedalus (We need 2 actors for this role. One for the 5th body who appears in modern day, and one for the one from ancient times)
Calypso (Her character is tragic, and she needs to appear peaceful but willing to hold a grudge, and intelligent yet slightly naive)
Paul Blofis
Hercules (He appears in a couple flashback scenes, and Percy gets compared to him multiple times in TTC, before rejecting the comparison, so Hercules needs to have that arrogance and the strength to back it up that define him)
Linus Roache would also be a good choice for hades I think. He played King ecbert in vikings
Hey maybe after recasting Percy Jackson you could recast video games like
GOD OF WAR
UNCHARTED
TOMB RAIDER
LAST OF US
MORTAL KOMBAT
MEATL GEAR
DEVIL MAY CRY
RESIDENT EVIL
So Iron Man:
Tony Stark/Iron Man: I went with Charles Bronson.
100% yes
I casted Andrew Lincoln as Zeus, Karl Urban as Poseidon and Jude Law as Hades
Karl and Jude are great but I’m not sure about Andrew as Zeus. Great actor but I just can’t see him as Zeus.
@@connorgolden4 I mostly cast him based on looks. Out of those three, he's the one that I struggled most with. Josh Brolin is a great choice though
@@connorgolden4 I almost went with Sean Bean again because he was one of the only good casting choices in those movies
I like it. I went with Richard Armitage or Idris Elba as Zeus, Ewan McGregor or Oscar Isaac as Poseidon, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Hades.
@@michaeloconnor5904 Good choices as well
I’m glad you understand the characters because most creators messed up characters trying to make them more iconic I really want you to cast the new avatar series or Percy Jackson reboot
thank you for this
Love the picks! Personally I would have gone with someone of Pacific Islander heritage for Poseidon, but Evans works great!
I would've loved mediterrenean actors for the gods, some spanish men like Banderas or Bardem or some italian or portuguese men, but i love these choices. (although i would LOVE Lerman as Poseidon, considering he's grown out his hair and it is the perfect mixture of grey and black hair)
This. Cast. Is. Perfect.
