A45 AMG - BUILD PART 3 - DOWNPIPE | DECAT | EXHAUST

A45 Project is coming along beautifully just as we expected. Since there is alot of talks about exhausts system we decided to devide this video into two parts for you guys to give you an idea of how eaxh exhaust modification changes the tone and sound of the system. While changing the downpipe we decided to heat-wrap the part for aesthetics as well as to retain the heat in the exhaust system and prevent surrounding parts from possible damage in the future. The next part will cover the rest of the exhaust system so make sure you have subscribed so you dont mis those videos.

Hi, Very informative, thank you. Can you please let me know if one installed a downpipe fitted with catalytic converter (say 200) then would it still need a 'lambda cheater', or in this case the light would not come-on?

It depends on your downpipe and the type of cat you’re using. Just use a lambda cheater to prevent engine light flashing up. They’re very cheap online anyway

Yeah the DCT transmission is the same from 2014 to 2019, so it should fit. If you're unsure send me the part numbers and i will double check fitment for you.

Two options: either a remap or lambda cheater is needed to bypass the engine light.

Not really no, but you will get an engine light. However you can bypass that by using a lambda cheater

No you dont need to replace the ecu, for downpipe youll either need a lambda spacer or ecu remap to get rid of the engine light. Lambda spacer is cheaper few pounds off ebay.

We haven’t tested the car power yet, once new tyres goes on and wheels are aligned it will be test to see what the BHP is before we begin the engine modifications

No they will not fit a200. Different engines but there are other down-pipes available for your car.

Yes you have to reprogram the ecu or you can get a lambda cheater and bypass the light that way
