It’s awesome to see the fruits of your labor, well the vegetables of your labor 😂🤣😂🤣 I just love love your videos specially when you add your trips since I’m in America I’m learning a lot about the beautiful places on the other side of the pond!! 🇺🇸🇬🇧❤️ So happy to see your mom doing so well!! 🙌🏻🦋🙌🏻
Fab to see your Mum back. Loved your "Welcome to the jungle" moment in the woods at Wisley! Got loads of chilli's in my polytunnel, loads of tomatoes too but really not ripening. Plus onward battles with the bloody bind weed. Something has put a hole in the top of my precious melon too! Ah, the joys ! 😊 👍
I really felt the 'this isn't the year of' list in my bones. Every year. It's good when you get to the point where you know you know it's just the way it is.
Well done mom! Such great resilience and determination to get back to her feet, So happy for you both💕 been binged watching your vids Jessie, i was 10 episodes behind, having a baby and all... now it’s 9.30 pm, glass of wine at hand, chilling in the room, bub with dad, and I’m catching up with your vids uninterrupted, just fab! You’re my relaxation Avenue!😆💕 love lots from Sydney!
Lovely to see your Mum back on the plot…it must look v different from when she was last there…and she looks as if she needs “feeding up”…lots of lovely produce for her to eat😀😀😀
Aww when I saw your Mum back I had tears in my eyes. She has been sorely missed. Then you made me laugh with "wood pigeons are full of poo!" They're even worse when they eat blackcurrants, blackberries and mulberries because then its black poo and stains everything. I've sowed a lot of what you said last week Jessie.Torrential rain here last night, so all is watered. Have a lovely week.
Hhaha, thanks Jenny. So good to have her back! Eugh yeah, i remember last year when they discovered the mulberry.... gah! I'm so envious of your rain!!!
Glad you don't use much makeup, as your eyes are stunning. Your mum sure is funny, and I see you work well together. Pleasure to see family still bonding 😊
Can vlog, its so lovely to see your mum back, she looks so well, bless her. I'm going to pop more beans in too, thanks for the prompt. Have a lovely weekend. 😚
So good to see your Mum back on the plot and looking so well. Amazing!. Super trip to Wisley. Hope your Mum appreciated her specially picked courgette.
It was lovely to see Queen mum is back in her palace again much missed , your right Jess it's been a funny veg year stuff that's normally easy to grow has struggled and yet other veg like onions and spuds that tend to be weather reliant have really been good this year , probably that's why us allotment people are mad as hatters one straight jacket away from the lunatic asylum 😜😜
Flaming summer! So dry, so hot. Great to see Mum up and about enjoying the mulberry harvest. Brilliant to watch you trek through the jungle to find Johanna on the other side, it was so funny to watch! Love your vlog, keeping it real
Hey Jessie; Mulberries are like apples. If you lift when pick them rather than pulling on them, they simply come away leaving your hands and bags clean!
Yeah, mostly they come off fine but theres always a few that don't want to and then i've squished them and then don't want to leave squashed fruit on the tree so i have to fight them to get them off then.... mess! :D
Lovely to see 'Mum' back on the plot. Make sure she takes it easy there ! Perhaps she could re-dress your lady scarecrow . It is nice to have someone with you to do watering while you get on with other things, as the watering is so time consuming by the time it's done you lose the momentum to do what you went there to achieve.
Great to see mom again enjoying the plot 🥰. Definitely not the glut we all saw last year in tomatoes 🍅 but really everyone seems to be having the same issues. Have a great week 🐝 safe
" Just hasn't been a good year for the chile, or the bean, or the tomato, or the kohlrabi, the cabbage, or the swede, or celeriac, or the brussel sprout...." I apologize, because I know it's painful, but I laughed out loud. I feel your pain. Late start, drought, squash vine borer, 3 different kinds of pole beans - all failed, sparse tomatoes, etc. Looking forward to the fall garden and better luck.
Great to see your mum back. Tell her to go easy - don't rush her recovery too much. It was interesting to see some beds at Wisley; not much different to what we all endure this year.
Hi Jessie, it was so lovely to see your mom back at the plot. Good to see the A-Team back in action. Lol. Can you show us what you do with beets for supper. I’ve only grown beets to pickle so I’d love to see what you do. Thanks for all you do. I love my Tuesdays in the allotment with you. Take care. 👨🌾🇨🇦
Thanks Sue! Ah, those beats i peeled and quartered and put in a small pan with a little bit of water and butter and then just cooked them down on a low heat. Just topping up a little water when it all vanishes. They come out like little glazed jewels!
Fantastic to see mum out and about. For your swing cover, perhaps consider getting some clamps or binder clips to clip it to the swing. I use those to keep shade cloth and fabric on my structures and it works quite well. If the swing parts are too thick, you can clip to cover to itself.
So lovely to see your Mum back. It looked as if she really enjoyed it,. Would be good if we could have a bit of rain. Difficult to keep everything watered. When it does rain it wont stop!
@@JessieatPlot37 Yeah, there's always next year! 😃 I wouldn't say it's a bad year for chillies for me, but I've had better for sure. The weather is really taking its toll on the plants. But what has really become a problem over the last 2-3 years, is the arrival of the 'Brown marmorated stink bug'. I don't think it has made it to the UK yet, but it's only a matter of time. Nasty little buggers! Take care 💚 Hannes
Great mulberry memories! My cousin and I would go into the chicken yard where a huge mulberry tree was growing. We thoroughly enjoyed eating the ripe berries while the chickens were around our feet hoping we would drop a few berries!
Mum must be thrilled to be back, even if you did put her straight to work. Am I right in thinking you are an artist too. I would love to see some of your work.
Oh forgot to say, Wilko have a seed sale on at the mo, so might be worth taking a look. My sister lives in Stoke on Trent and has bought me about 18 packets of different seeds, some as little as 10p, 20p and 30p 😉
I loved the schematic of the allotment. It's hard from my side to see the layout via filming. I'm still jealous of your swing and love it's new place out of the fountain of poo. It looks like a very productive week and great to see your Mum with you again, wobble or no. Hope your week sees a bit of rain. 😊

Omg Jessie, the goji Berry I gave you is finally producing fruits for you ❤️ Just put it in a bigger pot for now and it will produce more branches, more branches mean more fruit. I love my goji Berry bush. It’s so lovely to see your mum back..she’s doing so well.
For one moment was thinking is Jessie really going to bunk in Wisley from the woods . Glad to see your mum back up there at the plot, so does that mean less chilling out on the swing :) . Oh this year grew my first long beans ,they sure have amazing looking flowers . Have a great week .
Hahahha, i went a bit off piste! Nah, i'm very much in favour of keeping up the 'chill on the swing' part of my gardening now. :D And yeah, bean flowers are beautiful aren't they!
Good to see your Mum is better and able to get to the garden. Not much growing here in Houston. Too hot and not much rain. I'm dreaming of a fall garden. Lil is adorable. Pigeon poop often contains a fungus called Cryptococcus. Be careful it is easy to inhale when dried out and causes a very serious illness. I would advise Mum not to go near it. Have a good week.
Morning Jessie from south Australia, love your allotment and glad mum is on the mend, why I love watching your vlog is that you have good and bad harvests ,same here ,we don't have allotment over here and so I have a veggie patch down the back of my garden all under cover of shade cloth that I remove in the winter, as we get very hot days of 45c it does get abit hard when you see what damage a hot day can cause, I live in whyalla and we don't get alot of rain one summer no rain at all ,but we keep going.anynway Jessie keep the vlogs coming ,hello to your mum ,wine time down the veggie patch ,cheers Jessie x
Morning Sylvia! Wow, 45º is just too hot really isn't it. 40º was bad enough here. And no point showing only the good stuff is there? Especially as gardeners we all know its never perfect hahaha! Cheers!
Great to see your mother back 👍 Good news from here too....I had no slugs this year 🎉🎊 maybe someone may think it's because we had no rain, no zucchini, no lettuce or beans, neither a friendly neighbour like yours but it can't always be a win win. Cheers 🍸
Another great VLOG Jessie learning so much from you love the away days at RHS sites. Nice to see your mum on the plot again tell her not to over do it.
Good to see your Mum about, she seemed fairly steady. Love mulberry..nothing like mulberry jam. Praying for rain for you and I, hope it comes soon, cheers. 🙂

WELCOME BACK MOM! Glad you’re feeling up to gardening again. 😃 Thank you for sharing your trip and plot with us. You made my lunch break lovely - I’d rather go home to gardening now than back to work.
lovely to see your mum back on the plot. I have a dwarf mulberry but the fruit has shrivelled this year. I have tried some Achocha this year ,the vines grew really well but I can't get enthusiastic about the fruit, maybe its an acquired taste. Tried a new cucumber from the real seeds, its called Boona Keema and is absolutely delicious, it turn a lovely orange colour when mature but the skin is a bit bitter at that stage, its nicer younger and amazingly crunchy.
Thanks Pauline! I know what you mean about the achocha. the first year i grew tham i didn't know what to do with them and they mostly went rotten waiting for action in the fridge. But the following year i just started shredding them and putting them in everything. Soups, Stews, Stirfries, Pasta sauces. anywhere i use a green pepper i chucked them in and ended up loving them! Thanks for the Cucumber recommendation. i've made note!
So glad mum is back!!! 💗 Always lovely watching your vlogs . Many have gotten contaminated soil - with nightshade herbicides! Maybe the cause of some of your "failure to thrive" - that shriveled bean leaf makes me suspicious.
Wow, I can't begin to express how happy I am to see your mum is doing well and is back at the plot. One thing though, much as it to see and hear you, I want to see and hear her much more. Please tell her she needs to put on a few kilos, she's so thin. Also we missed her so much. As usual great video Jessie!!
Hi Jessie, so lovely to see your Mum at the allotment, how amazing! Lovely to be part of your vist to RHS gardens and they had lovely gardens too. Lil looks very comfortable chilling ❤️ another great video, thanks for sharing and take care 🙂
Welcome back Mum . I too have compost bin envy after seeing the set up in Wisley, just added to my must visit list . PS ask your sister can I borrow her car ?
Great yo see your mum mobile again. rasberries go well with gin too. Tip... try growing ginger..... yeah, you guessed it .. it goes well with gin too! 😂
Awesome to see mam back at it. All you have to worry about now is making sure she behaves and doesn't do too much. If she's anything like my mam she thinks she's GI Jane and wants to beast it all the time!! All the best.
Had me rolling when you said you dont want to be a slug on this weather. Then I thought about it, and suddenly I felt exactly the same. Nice to see your mum back at it again!
She's back! Hooray!! So lovely to see the team back together. X Lots to do and lots got done as usual but always a joy to be allowed to join you. Love your vlogs Jess, no matter what you show us or what journey you take us on.
Wisley is a great visit , my best memory was bumping into Harry Baker ( many years ago ) and getting some expert opinion . He was a co-author of the Fruit Gardening book
Welcome back Jessie’s mum, good to see your doing well post op. Maybe Jess will let you have a rest on the swing seat. Ha ha at the end that’s just How I went summer in Aus last year (winter now) Boy is it dry here in South Devon too Jess we arrived late May to beautiful green lawns etc now it’s scorched brown. Rain they say never arrives. Hope we all get done soon mind more snow forecast for home in TAS they are having a super cold winter this year.
Thanks Tassie Girl! Luckily for me the swing seat is i little bit too low for her to get in and out of so i'm mine for a little bit longer hahaha! Yeah, i heard it had been cold out there! And wet! Fingers crossed we get some wet here soon!
My peppers (in pots) have been in and out of the greenhouse in this heat and they just stopped growing too. so not the year for pepper for me either. I would love to visit Wisley, those little veg patches looked all a veg patch actually are, down to the shriveled up plant in the cold frame. Good work making space for the swing, you earned a lay down. As usual its great see what you're up to on your plot. Some goodies to take home. How beautiful to see you and your mum on the plot. Have a great week
Good to see your mum back. We only have a small back garden laid mainly to flower and lawn, but we did have an area with a wooden 2 seater swing seat, unfortunately the only place it could be positioned was under a neighbours over hanging tree, which seem to house thousands of birds, especially sparrows who used the seat as a toilet and eventually the seat started to rot. So I removed it and used the area to house 10x30 litre containers, seven with 2nd early potatoes and 3 containers housing 18 runner bean plants (6 per container). The canes are covered in runner beans plants, but no runner beans as the sparrows are eating all the runner bean flowers! ?
I'm currently in my courgette and patty pan glut! So if you want to do a cooking video for them.... #contenthint 😉 I have 3 ball courgette plants, 3 normal courgette plants, a yellow courgette plant, 2 green and 2 yellow patty pan plants. And I'm the only person at home who eats them...
Tell your Mum we (Americans) are so happy to see her back on the plot. Cheers! 🥂

Always lovely watching your vlogs .
Many have gotten contaminated soil - with nightshade herbicides! Maybe the cause of some of your "failure to thrive" - that shriveled bean leaf makes me suspicious.
Thank you. :D
Yeah, theres so much of it about its always a worry!
Hahahah, she does need to put weight on but she's a right fussy eater. And she's not that interested in being in front of the camera.
Hi Jessie, so lovely to see your Mum at the allotment, how amazing! Lovely to be part of your vist to RHS gardens and they had lovely gardens too. Lil looks very comfortable chilling ❤️ another great video, thanks for sharing and take care 🙂
Thanks Christine! Great to have her back!
Welcome back to your mum!!!😍
Thank you!
Welcome back Mum . I too have compost bin envy after seeing the set up in Wisley, just added to my must visit list . PS ask your sister can I borrow her car ?
Hahahha, compost bin envy is real!! :D And i'll ask her. :D
I'm so glad your mum is doing so well 😀 and I always love seeing your girlies too 💗 I am so over this heat ,ugh! Cheers beautiful Jessie :)
Thanks Tamara! Ditto on the heat, we need rain!!
I am so happy to see your mum back in the garden - love seeing the two of you in your videos - and of course the gardens and the girls
Thanks Donna! Yeah, its great to have her back!
So nice to see mom.💕
:D thanks Gail
Great yo see your mum mobile again. rasberries go well with gin too. Tip... try growing ginger..... yeah, you guessed it .. it goes well with gin too! 😂
Hahahahah, its all about the Gin!!
Gin is good, it keeps covid at bay, especially the Strane 79% one😁
Awesome to see mam back at it. All you have to worry about now is making sure she behaves and doesn't do too much. If she's anything like my mam she thinks she's GI Jane and wants to beast it all the time!! All the best.
Hahha, thanks David
Welcome back Mom!
Thanks pam!
Had me rolling when you said you dont want to be a slug on this weather. Then I thought about it, and suddenly I felt exactly the same. Nice to see your mum back at it again!
Hahahhaha, it would be horrendous!!
She's back! Hooray!! So lovely to see the team back together. X
Lots to do and lots got done as usual but always a joy to be allowed to join you.
Love your vlogs Jess, no matter what you show us or what journey you take us on.
Woooo! :D Ahhh, thanks Wendy!! :)
Wisley is a great visit , my best memory was bumping into Harry Baker ( many years ago ) and getting some expert opinion . He was a co-author of the Fruit Gardening book
Hahah, excellent!
The garden looked nice that you visited it's a pity you could not pic the plums for a small fee better than going to waist x
Really is a strange year for peppers!! I've had so many people say the same. very odd!
Thanks Joy. :)
Much love from a wobbly shelf. The last 5 years I failed to keep planting and seeding in the end of summer. Trying not to make the same mistake again.
hahahaha! Yeah, its so tough at this time of year to start thinking about winter isn't it!
Thanks Derek!
Hahahaha, bird toilets and swing seats don't mix! Good use of the space though :D
Yeah mums back I missed you mum
:D
wow so happy to see your mom
:D thanks Debbie
I'm currently in my courgette and patty pan glut! So if you want to do a cooking video for them.... #contenthint 😉 I have 3 ball courgette plants, 3 normal courgette plants, a yellow courgette plant, 2 green and 2 yellow patty pan plants. And I'm the only person at home who eats them...
Hahahaha, when i hit my glut (its coming!) i will Robert!!
Looking forward to watching this later. 😀
