andrew rees thank you mate, it’s been a rough few months pal. That’s exactly what’s making me think it will be good to clean it, the idea of it being clean and making corals pop is a real plus 👍 great to be back buddy
It’s you’re tank if you like it as it is the who are we to say different. Attention to detail on you’re tank builds are second to non. It’s great to watch videos focusing attention on keeping cables tidy and placement of plumbing as well as the display tank.
Thanks t7ommy really appreciate the feedback and glad you like the videos pal 👍 the sump and cable management is just as important to me as the display buddy, I’m a bit OCD so seeing cables everywhere drives me insane 🤣 I’ve got some important videos coming work just keeps getting in the way but I’m hoping there’ll be a video ready for the weekend buddy 👍 thanks again for following the channel, I’m trying to build something open and honest so all of the likes, comments and subscribes really help 👍👍 what tank have you got mate?
Background is personal preference mate. If you like it purple, keep it. It’s about what pleases you when you look at it. Peoples opinions will always be different. Lovely tank 👌
Biker Rav thanks for the feedback mate 👍👍 I’ve seen a couple of tanks that were cleaned recently and the corals were popping so seriously thinking about doing it 😊
UK Reefer a black background does make the colours pop much more because of the stark contrast. I think you’ve already decided to do it 😁 Worse case it will grow back if you don’t like it. Don’t forget to post an update so we can see 👍🏼
Biker Rav i was in favour of keeping it as I know it could mess with the consumption of elements but after seeing these last few tanks I’m now seriously thinking about it just doing it and like you say, it’ll grow back if I don’t like it 👍 if I do it I’ll get a times lap video of it pal 👍
Such a shame about all the loses but you did your best to treat them and not let them suffer so fair play for documenting it, most wouldn't. I really like the natural look of the coraline on the back glass however that will be consuming your Triton so could remove it and save on the amount your having to dose? Other than that the tank looks amazing and all fish look really healthy. Cant wait for the next update.
Hubb's Reef thanks appreciate that, will always document everything honestly as I don’t see any point in doing it if it’s not honest 👍 good shout on the coraline, I was thinking it might make the corals pop a bit more against the black but I’ll have a think 👍
Nathan Willard thanks mate, been a rough time buddy but I look back now and think atleast we gave him the 3 years that not many would have, the fits just got him in the end :-( thanks pal means a lot coming from the fella that got me into the whole reefing game (anyone reading these comments please check out Nathan’s channel, he’s got 3 fantastic series of tanks and it helped me get into the game massively). What are your thoughts on the coraline?
snoggful thanks for the feedback, at the minute it’s still 50/50 on a clean or coralined backing 👍 no worries on the discount code they’re a great company to work with. 5% off tends to knock a good chunk off but I like the points you get back to spend on future goods 👍 Let us know how you get on buddy
jonny jones I’m a big fan of it so far 👍 only difference from core 7 to other methods I can see is the extra elements to help the refugium grow 👍 I’m on my second 4 litre pack now but the last 4-5 months have been brilliant using it 👍 it’s 50/50 on cleaning the glass at the minute, I have seen one completely clean which looked amazing but at the same time I do like the coraline, it’s a tough one
Hi josh, should have the next update ready over Christmas mate 👍 been crazy busy with work but almost finished on the update. Thanks pal appreciate that 👍👍 since the last update the sps has gone mad, got a few nice additions too 😊👍 thanks again for following the channel, all the likes, messages and subscribers are really helping us grow. Trying to think of something special to add for if/when we hit 1000 subscribers, any thoughts mate?
Keep the background the way it is. Looking very nice. How are you finding the Clarisea after time of use? I have a Reefer 250 and installed a Clarisea sk5000 3 weeks ago. It's nearly gone through the first roll but is pulling out alot of junk. Water clarity has never been better. Heatwave caused me a few casualties.
Dean Taylor Thanks for the feedback buddy 👍 I’ve taken the Clarisea off and gone back to floss pal. The new rolls were lasting ages which was brilliant however they didn’t dry out as fast and stank :-( i would walk into my office and it just stank of dirty water/rotting fish food so I took it off. I’m sure they’ll have sorted it by now but that was the early rolls. I did find when I started the Clarisea it used the first roll very fast but I think it’s just the start of pulling everything out 👍
@@ukreefer4907 Keep the videos coming mate great channel you've got going! Shame the Clarisea didn't work out for you. I haven't experienced any foul smells from my sump area and my tank is positioned in the bedroom. No complaints from the Mrs were all good 😅. I have to say not changing the filter socks for me is a dream and tank has never been so stable and looked good.
Dean Taylor thanks mate really appreciate that, it’s hard balancing it all with running a business and a 3 year old but at the same time it’s nice giving things back through the videos 👍 it only started as a mate badgering me to try TH-cam but it’s really starting to take off 👍 I’m sure my Clarisea issue was just the early rolls mate but I dreaded walking into the office, it was grim to say the least. On the plus side It did give me more sump room though 👍 really glad to hear yours is going well, I know if my Mrs got the slightest whiff of fish food I’d be on the sofa a few days 🤣🤣
@@ukreefer4907 😅😂 No sofa for me yet! Great videos mate like I say please keep them coming. I struggled with dosing when first setting up the reefer 250. Currently using the aquaforest balling method 1/2/3. All is pre mixed liquid which is convenient but I'm now having to dose large amounts (80ml a day) to keep my alk @8.8! Calcium 450 and mag at 1280! As corals grow this will only rise. And it's not the cheapest. After watching your red sea foundation video think I will give this a go. Still playing around with the dosing side of things to get levels where I want them to be. Nice one.
Dean Taylor no worries at all mate I’ll keep them going 👍👍 I’ve actually just bought the aqua forest balling set for our nano, how big’s your tank and what type of corals are you keeping? Red Sea was ok but that got expensive for me too, I moved to triton and I’ve gone from dosing 96ml a day Red Sea to 30ml a day of triton 👍
Hugo Hage for me it wasn’t enough pal, I found there was a definite shadowed area in the middle so I just bought a third bracket and added the hydra 26 that I had on the 170 to the middle 👍 now it works perfect 👍
MereReef thanks mate appreciate the feedback, my lights come on at 8 and ramp up for 4 hours to uv 105, violet 95, royal 123, blue 110, green 0, red 0, white 35. That stays at that setting for 4 hours and then ramps down for 4 hours 👍 I’ll try and do a video on our lights 👍
I'm a fan of a clean back, just makes the tank look cleaner and brings the colour in corals out more imo.good to have you back👍

Reefersam 89 thanks sam 👍👍 mixed views on cleaning it off at the minute it’s 50/50 🤣 cheers buddy
UK Reefer clean it off and then don’t like it let it grown back
Reefersam 89 lol I have thought about that to be fair, it grows really fast in here so it is a possibility
Be good to see the new video on the triton core7 as im thinking of going with the core7 other methods" id leave it natural looking buddy

has your salinity stayed bean stable " because few have said it does rise after wile using core7
jonny jones my salinity is steady as a rock at 1.026 pal 👍
