Why not just use the axle shafts included in the 4RCWD kit? I know the axles in the kit are splined on the ends. All I did was file off the spline on top and bottom and filed them down to the size on the original HG P407 axles. I used a micrometer and with my micrometer on both of the flat sides measured out at 42 thickness. I filed the axles down to 42 and they slid right into the hub assembly. Very simple and easy fix. With the axle opened I went and inserted the pin to lock the axles. Greased everything up with some Mean Green WP silcone grease and I also replaced all the axle and hub bearing with sealed bearings. I purchased a complete sealed bearing kit for the HG P407 on ebay for about $26. The bearings are super high quality. HG P407 Pickup Truck Bearing Kit (45 Bearings) ebay listing. I am getting ready to do this very same mod today on my HG P407 so just file the RC4wd splines ends to fit do they have the same width as the front axle?
Like everyone is saying you should use the axles that come with it and the bearing needs to be inside the hex to keep its sturdyness or you risk snapping or bending the end of the axle, dont see this last long at all!💯
A bit late to the party. We all know the rear axle is wider than the front. So not space out the provided hex adaptrer, will narrow the rear track. That is a good thing though.
So, when you order the hex adapter set from RC4WD, doesn't it come WITH all the proper axles and everything needed to PROPERLY do the conversion for about $36.00? Then why would you want to ****** rig it? Damn, just use the parts that were engineered for the conversion and be done with it! IJS.

hey, just got one of these, think it can handle a brushless system?
I'm sure it can handle a crawler brushless system.
