The competition is tough out there esp if all he can offer
are COVERS
He needs an original that will suit his voice.
Count thr many many 1st place winners who had one day/1 week/ even a month of FAME thanks to BIG TIME singing competition,
WHERE ARE THEY NOW??
Selling insurance or doing cruise line venues, weddings
& mall openings
& ZERO record breaking
sold out concerts
& no record deals anywhere.
If RA can't produce anything that will evem make it to the
TOP 100 Billboard sellers
he'll just be known as another one time AGT sensation dur jour.
He'll be lucky if gets to be a regular feature in the Phil's

How come you guys feel wounded or persecuted if told the truth?
or given a little tip on where there's room for improvement?
Though he's got a good instrument & knows how to use it
RA is far from perfect.
If your attitude is he doesn't meed any coaching
then he'll never improve.
No wonder you haven't produced ONE talent who made it to the Billboard
Top 100 or even Top 1000
Except Shariz I think.
She rose like a meteor but dropped like one overnight.

Your sentiment encourages him to be better but he needs more than your cheers.
He has to take this competition seriously & take steps to polish further his amazing but raw talent.
Don't take criticisms as attacks. They're meant to push him UP to make it to finals.👌

I don’t think he is that nervous. I guess only a bit. We’re talking about AGT. I guess he’s just settling in He’s very emotional at the start. He walking the stage to me is owning the stage. He has a great voice yes. It’s a god given talent. But more than the power in his voice the passion is why many loves him. Once trained he can be a great singer. Thank u for the support

Now again true to the practice of AGT, they present the life stories of contestants in the most melodramatic frame. Abante though just like another AGT alumnus, Marcelito Pomoy, comes from a most humble beginning. The ease and confidence in his performance tell everyone that he has been around in the music industry, peripheral though at most but wretched no more as before. Thanks for your reaction. You are absolutely right, he was extremely nervous, and even before he started singing, he kept holding his chest, showing that he was not comfortable and after all nervous because it was his first time performing on a bigger stage in front of an English speaking audience and on a very famous TV show. Despite the fact that he is already a member of a national TV singing competition in the Philippines.

It’s normal for anybody to get a little nervous at the start. This guy does not know that Roland already got an exposure in the Philippines because he joined a national singing competition, got invited to a local radio station and joined a band. But we can see that he has that self confidence when he got into the stage.

RA is used to perform only in front of his mostly brown, short & supportive countrymen in rather small venues.
Suddenly he's faced with a really huge audience of mostly whites plus black, Hispanic, & other races
much bigger than him & quite judgmental of unknown foreigners.
I'm sure he was also very aware of the worldwide EYES watching him & waiting to criticize his every move.
All that will make any
NON-PRO experience butterflies in his tummy
as they say.
Which is normal.
He was almost hyperventilating tapping at his chest before the soundtrack kicked in.
It took him a while to steady himself & give the go signal ti start.
Simon & the other judges
sensed his NERVOUSNESS
& so did we.
Why do you seem OFFENDED by people's observation of his early jitters?
Are you his mother? or wife? or lover?
It's just an audition.
Let's see how he does in August when the real competition begins as he faces tough & equally talented contestants.

it's not that he don't understand, HE CAN, he may not be able to speak fluently but he totally understand, he just can't express himself fully.... and also Roland wanders around everytime he sings its not because he's very nervous, yes he is nervous having to sing infront of everyone but he's been able to perform in a lot of audiences every once in a while the difference is just that he's there to audition and there are judges watching on top of that there's Simon too..
