    It sounds decent and I like the divisis but if you already have Berlin strings I don’t really see the point in spending another 600euro (sale price). And as someone else said, the faster notes in the legatos don’t sound convincing to me. I’d have preferred a version with 3 or 4 mic positions for say a third of the price given the huge size of the library and amount of storage required. Also I’m a bit put out that OT knows people will buy Berlin series in the sale and then bring this out shortly after.

    Congrats on the launch! Was kind of hoping for something somewhat simular to the Ark series (Strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion) when I heard it was the biggest project so far. Sounds great though, but to be really honest, to me it sounds pretty much as great as your other string libraries (and I already own pretty much all of those). So it does feel somewhat like "yet another string library". For this reason the price and the HD space required doesn't make it really interesting for me personally.
    I do hope this library will make a lot of other people really happy!

    Man, I was really hoping for some stunning Bladerunner sounds. Of course it sounds absolutely beautiful but to be honest, it´s string library no 1572 that does it just a little better than no 1571. Still, fantastic work, no doubt about that!

    Does this library have same note rebow? or do we have to switch that up-down bow articulations to achieve that? @_@, and do this library have Portamento? I really love the sounds 100%, no doubt!, but hurm, I wonder can this library somewhat do what CSSS have been doing in the past 10 years? Sorry for asking alot, but I do appreciate if you guys taking the time to reply ~ I've been eyeing and keep coming back checking almost every week, I don't want my 100th strings library ending up not using it...

    Not sold yet. Tye fast notes in between the legato aren’t that convincing to me. And I’ve always had trouble with a library that was named after a particular artist…seems weird to me. lol. I also think the raw samples sound far better than the processed sounds, at least in solo. But I’m going to keep listening to more demos and rely on OTs reputation. The divisi is certainly nice to have, and a great option for smaller writing.

    I have to say/add now, that having now bought some of the Wallfisch strings, violas and cellos tutti, and having used them, I say they are really nice, among the most responsive feeling stings that I have. Aside from the standard mics they recommend I added the wide and one of the immersive mic positions and found those add a different dimension.

      Do you feel that this video properly represents the quality of the legatos? I'm having a hard time figuring out if some of the bumpyness is caused by the playing or if it's baked in.

      @@ToeShimmel I did/do seem to have one note that always played hot(louder) than others between octaves, I don't think it was me but I'm not completely sure. This was in the violas. I kind of felt it was baked in, on that one note, as others played very smoothly, again I can't say for sure.

    Very enticing for the most part. I have a question though whenever I hear the triple fortes for some reason I hear the mics hotter than previous dynamics almost boosted from a previous dynamic? Is there a reason why? I do appreciate the long 20sec sustains most definitely though.

    OK so I hear the legato isn't perfect but as far as the sound and stereo image and dynamic depth goes this is EXACTLY how I want strings to sound!

  • @ToeShimmel
    @ToeShimmel 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I do love the sound of the strings. However, sadly enough I still hear a lot of bumpyness in the legatos. I also hear parts where it's really good!
    I need the libraries that I'm still going to buy to have a certain level of reliability in the legato's and to offer a more realistic sound. Unfortunately that's not the case here. Maybe some more legato tweaks might help?

    The workflow of this library is probably one if not the best we've seen from any library out there, it's just a shame the sound quality, legato transition isn't on par with the highest tier sample libraries...

    I see tons of complaints and people dismissing this library as too expensive, boring, not sounding as good as Berlin strings, or even saying Berlin strings can sound exactly like this (which is complete nonsense) Now I’m not going to address the divisi, price, or non-looped sustains. I will say, using it in an identical manner as Berlin Strings, Berlin Sympohnic, and many others (CSS, spitfire, cinesamples, performance samples, Hollywood strings, etc) this library sounds a SIGNIFICANTLY more detailed and realistic, it’s not even close. The violins are my least favorite as they kind of lack vibrato, and the amount of detail is intense- they sound more like chamber strings than symphonic with the processed mixes. I just wanted to chime in and mention that the quality of sampling, dynamic range, and pure detail is truly head and shoulders above the competition- IF you can afford it and have a powerful system. It’s not for everyone but the sound is truly incredible. The rebowing is incredibly natural and makes the bumpy legato transitions not an issue for me- try triggering a new upbow or down bow instead of overlapping the notes.
    Not trying to convince anyone to buy it and I was also skeptical at first, but if you want the next level of realism (and will take the time to program it), this is absolutely it.

    The legatos needed a lot more work, and the spiccatos sound a little too rough around the edges as well. This is one of those libraries I really wanted to love, but for me a library is only as good as it's legato. Which means I'll sadly be skipping out on this one.

    Some feedback from a normal person. Neat, but not for a "sale" price of $700. I get it, but look what you did, and look at what's already been going on for the last decade+. Hyping this hard, announcing that there will be an announcement a month in advance? You got me here, even knowing your style. But it better be something more than "another string library" or at least priced attractively where I'll buy it anyway. Same arts, same sounds, but *divisi*. Seen it, or close enough, several times a year usually. Just not enough going on, sorry. You've priced yourselves out, again, in an ever-competitive world.
