    I've been out of the hobby for about 16 years, life got in the way then graduated to building and flying real aircraft. Getting back into this to teach my kids. Your videos have been very helpful getting my tx16s setup! Thanks👍 The technology and affordability today is amazing compared to what was available when I flew my models last.

    Interesting. I fly FrSky X8R and RX8R receivers with voltage and gps sensors. I have not yet made the jump to EdgeTX (still OTX). In special functions, I put telemetry callouts on a switch, so that I can hear speed, altitude, voltage (and other sensors, if I'm flying them), or I can turn off the 'noise,' if I don't want to hear it/them (especially when not flying, but with the aircraft powered up). I have a screen or two that're dedicated to capturing max/min (as applicable), to look at after the flight. Even with big text, I think that I'd prefer to listen for speed/altitude callouts, instead of looking down at the radio, especially if I had to page through screens to find the speed and/or altitude screens. With that said, though, I'm interested in loading this widget for a model and giving it a try. Thank you for adding content to the open source tools for us RC-ers!!!

      You've got the right spirit about it. There's nothing fancy going on, but maybe people will look at the LUA along with the file structure and decide they can build on it.
      I'm using a momentary switch to call out speed/alt which works fine, but it's fun to see the numbers on the screen especially if flying with friends who can watch the speedo.
      Anyway, have fun with it. Thanks for the comment.

    Hi John, I do not know anything about telemetry and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So it would be great to make a video about the basics of telemetry : what it is, which items we need and how to install them. Regards. Thierry

    i cant get it to work :( i updated the sensors but i cant see gspd why i have telemetry crossfire?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crossfire telemetry alone isn’t enough. This example used a crsf to pwm board which supports gps connection and provides gps telemetry over crossfire. You need to have a gps with gspd and alt telemetry working before this widget will work.

    Ciao, su un Aliante, quali sensori ocorrono collegati alla FC per misurare altitudine (barometrico) ? E per ascoltare un suono piu' acuto e più basso quando l'Aliante cambia quota? Sarebbe possibile? Grazie

    Just guessing but do I need to have a gps connected to do this? Reason why I ask, I'm using ELRS rx's and none of the sensors pop up, only with my quads that have a GPS. Please advise, thank you so much for your videos! I probably missed a video somewhere.

      You need telemetry sensor supporting lat long. Then you can add it as a value.

    Can we configure the radio, so it will sound the airspeed constantly, like every 1 second...

    hi sir, thanks for you videos about Radiomaster. As a newbie on Fixedwing RC , i really want to know how to get AMP CURRENT USE From my ESC .Just line OSD on my Drone , i'll know if the Amp Current reach on some point. how i get the telemetry for the esc amp sensors ? thankyou . Btw i use ER6 Radiomaster

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can't just pull telemetry from an ESC even if an ESC has it. You need something like a flight controller in the middle or if you have ELRS, you can use something like a Matek CRSF-PWM-C. There are some inline current sensors for other manufacturers but I don't use them as I'm told they're not very accurate.

    Good stuff! Any chance you could add a tutorial on Airspeed, not ground speed? I am currently fighting with my OTX radio trying to get both the Matek Digital pitot tube and FrSky analog pitot tube units to work. Not as easy as GPS ground speed. Thanks for all your helpful content!

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you install a pitot tube with telemetry, when you add your telemetry sensors, airspeed should be among them. Are you asking me to show how to get telemetry from a Frsky pitot tube?

    • @ElseysEmpireRacing
      @ElseysEmpireRacing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RCVideoReviews Hi John. The analog pitot's have a 4th terminal for "1/2 voltage divider " and the Matek manual talks about connecting it to the "RSSI" pad. No other info on the telemetry setup, however I have a Furious analog pitot with MPXV7002DP chip, (FrSky uses a MP3V5004DP chip) that I finally got working having connected the signal wire to the "ASpd" pad. Setting the OTX to Custom, 0A00, 28, R9mini, mph. Can you explain all this, there is very little on ASpd sensor setup or calibration on the web. (My digital pitot works fine) Thankyou.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can log telemetry data and use Companion to view it. It has a built-in chart generator. It also logs the data to a .csv file so you can pretty much do whatever you want with that.

    Thanks for this video and for the widgets. I was inspired and set up a plane with the Matek CRSF to PWM output with a Matek M8Q 5883 gps. I downloaded the lua scripts and installed them on the Radiomaster TX16S which has Edge TX installed. It all loaded and seemed to be working perfectly and was displaying speed when carrying the model. But soon after I got airborne, the speed reading dropped back to 0. I have experimented and discovered that it drops back to 0 as soon as the plane reaches 64km/h. I have tried a different CRSF unit and also a different Matek CRSF to PWM board. I have also tried several different gps units, but all with the same result. I would really love to get this working but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks again for all you great videos. :)
