    The lyrics are a reworked version of the poem Wenn Mutti spät zur Arbeit geht, released by Till in his book In stillen Nächten.
    The "dam dam" lyrics are taken from a 1965 song "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht" by Drafi Deutscher. The band liked the idea of using this phrase in a harsher context. 😉

    Hello, In a nutshell the child is loosing his 💩 over watching his sister getting killed on the job.
    Rammstein confronts us with our fears. Most of the times from a perspective (villain, stalker, etc) that we really don't wanna be confronted with.
    1st time I listened to the song (studio version), which is one of my favorites, I was stunned. Never thought that Rammstein would still manage to do that after so many years. Imo speaks to the quality and art they create. The song is soul shaking.
    With love from Germany ❤🤘🏻

    For me your interpretation is the right one...we must simply understand that the burning doll is the image of the youth of the child who is completely massacred

    the part where he tells how someone killed his sister, probably mother, black pieces of paper are blown all over the crowd.
    this makes the experience in the audience surreal as the sky actually seems to get dark at that moment... you can't really tell in this video but they blow a LOT of it in the air.
    during the very last song of the concert they do the same but with white pieces of paper

    The story is very simple. Young brother and older sister live together. The brother needs medication to stay mentally stable. The things are expensive and so that they can afford these drugs, the sister prostitutes herself. This all takes place in the apartment. When the customer comes, or sometimes two, the boy is locked in the next room so that he doesn't notice. However, the boy sees through the keyhole what the punters are doing to his sister and that will not always be non-violent. This disturbs the boy, who is already so menthal unstable. He acts out the things he sees through the keyhole with his puppets. One day, unfortunately, he sees that a customer is going too far and killing his sister. Now a future psychopath is born.

      In Germany, drugs wouldn't be expensive at all, most of the cost would be covered by the health care insurance, and they would be as good as free. She doses him so that he's asleep when her clients show up, not because he's not mentally stable. He only becomes unstable once he sees his sister getting murdered while peeping through the key hole.

    PHENOMENAL fannnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • @dawatcherz
    @dawatcherz 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    the way i interpret this story is this: the boy and girl are son and daughter... she got him at a very young age and/or out of wedlock. and 'in the old days' it wasn't uncommon to pretend to the outside world that they are siblings to prevent social stigma. the child would be told that his mother is his sister too.
    the medicine is probably not really medicine but something to keep him calm or get him to go to sleep so she can recieve 'guests' in the other room.
    this situation is already not good for the boy's mental wellbeing, and then he sees someone kill his 'sister' and he breaks. that's when the darkness really sets in, symbolised by the black paper blown over the crowd.

    Weird and creepy, I remember not liking the song when I first heard it, but it kind of grows on you. Seeing it live adds more to the horror vibe, and of course it is Rammstein, so fire is involved. 🔥

    for my perspective along others meaning of this song could be more sinister based off the carriage showing live that simbolisim his sister son in there which means the little child is uncle and at the end for blinding rage to saw his sister being killed he does the same thing with that baby i know is disturbing but knowing Rammstein makes sense imo.
