  • As of 2021, Bob has been doing this type of work for just about 30 years and in those three decades working in the trades I’ve seen some unbelievable sights.
One of the easiest things to do is add a gutter downspout, but what most people get wrong is when they cut the hole in the gutter. Without proper support and some easy, but careful planning, the aluminum could end up jagged with some very sharp and unattractive edges.
Bob shows you how to easily install a gutter downspout with a super easy trick that he came up with that makes the entire job a pleasure to do.

The screws that I use in the gutters are Philips with white heads to match the color of the gutters - amzn.to/3vX6umi
The downspout adapter I used is not available on Amazon, but this one is very similar and would work just fine - amzn.to/2U1XiQq
If you are looking for a good hole saw kit, look no further than the Milwaukee kit. This kit is the smaller less expensive version - amzn.to/3qrRADh
If you prefer to have a better variety of hole saws, you can always purchase the larger kit - amzn.to/3h2aPR7
For those wondering what camera I used to record the video; I use the OSMO Action Cam - amzn.to/3qvPa6H because GoPro has let me down so many times with freeze ups and malfunctioning buttons that I had to make a change.

I wish I knew that hole saw trick for the adapter when I installed a downspout last month. Great post!

This is the quickest and easiest way I have seen to make a proper down spout hole in gutter. I used to do it with tin snips and it was a pain in the ass. This is a grate tip Bob.
