Terengganu adalah negeri yang sangat santai, tenang dan menarik untuk bercuti pada saya - Ikhlas dari anak Pahang
Nasi goreng ikan is very Terengganu. that's everyone childhood dish over here. it's not salted fish I believe. just fried fish that mixed together with simple fried rice after separate it from the bones. got strong natural umami flavour, hence the saltiness.
Usually we use left over fried fish to make nasi goreng ikan
so nice of iChang & Jimmy to get themselves locally produced baju batik to wear while savouring the local dishes. versatile outfits to be worn casually... especially when Raya Haji is just around the corner.

Last time i visit Kuala Terengganu, i ate homemade Nasi Dagang was made by BFF's mother. The most delicious Nasi Dagang i ever ate. After that, its really hard for me to eat Nasi Dagang by someone else. She made it so good.

Nasi Dagang, the rice is a mixture of glutinous rice and normal rice which make it rich n heavy. The nasi dagang must hv halba, ginger strips n onions with coconut milk
Keropok lekor 3 pieces for 1 ringgit is cheap compare to the City, its a kampong pricing, very smart move....going locally for food hunting. Watching both eating nasi goreng ikan, makes me hungry hahaha...enjoy!

You should try the keropok lekor without frying too. The sauce for keropok lekor in Terengganu is bit sweet. You're right the taste of keropok lekor depends on how many fish are added during the mixing process. Nasi Minyak is also another local Terengganu dish that you should had tried beside Terengganu Laksa which is best eaten with bare hand. Terengganu Laksa had two kind of gravy which is Kuah Mentah (white color) and Kuah Masak (red color). Both are good but I prefer the Kuah Mentah. Nasi Goreng Ikan is also another dish which I am grown with and had not had it for many years.

Just came back from Terengganu recently.
One thing that I will be doing if I went there either wait for sunrise or sunset.
If it's Terengganu the sun will rise from the sea.
It's worth the wait. Made a video of it,. no background music, just listen to the wave and watch the sunrise.
That's my kind of healing.
One thing you can try in Terengganu, is Nasi Lemak with ikan. The usual triangle packed nasi lemak in Terengganu always comes with either bilis or ikan. The Ikan ones are uniquely Terengganu, or maybe Kelantan too. And the Nasi Lemak in Terengganu are so good…. I miss it so much!

That's what we normally do when eating nasi goreng.. we eat nasi goreng with sotong celup tepung, keropok lekor with sauce, keropok keping..it's totally sedapp🤤🤤🤤 then, lepak or picnic at the beach while drinking ABC or ABJ..superrrr enjoyable 🔥🔥😍😍

Trengganu also has some beautiful islands. You should visit them. The closest one is pulau kapas. Just 15mins by boat from marang, a town near kuala trengganu. I dare you not fall in love with the trengganu islands ❤

Nasi Goreng Ikan is actually something you can find very common in a Terengganu home. It's basically just normal nasi goreng but with fish, because back in the days fish is cheaper than chicken or meat for us (historically Terengganu people used to be folks who just live simple lives so many people didn't have the "luxury" of eating chicken and meat).
In recent years more eateries start offering it as a menu because at some point someone realized, "Hey why can't you find any nasi goreng ikan in kedai makan?". And the reason for that ties back to the previous point - chicken and meat are considered luxury so they're the "better" ingredients to offer at your kedai makan. But after many years people realized that nothing beats the homely nasi goreng ikan.
Still, it's not very mainstream yet but I'm happy to see the place you found is actually nearby where I stay so thank you! I'll get to eat it more often soon.

In terengganu nowadays , there are variety of keropok lekor. There are original version with a lot of fish, crispy version, there are also hipster version such as they put cheese inside, black pepper.

Nasi lemak ikan Terengganu is the best nasi lemak in the world. It is a hidden food treasure but again, you got to search for the right one... Most are just so so in Terengganu nowadays I think.... Similar to nasi dagang Terengganu, it is extremely delicious if you can find the right one... Also again, most are so so nowadays in Terengganu, I reckon.
