@@maplehouseknives l know they put some in the solar kiln and sell some on their website, but l dont know what percentage they save. Your right that it can be a valuable market, the results wood turners can get from them can be amazing. The only issue is that lm not sure if they deal much with big old growth trees in their area, most of the area has been selectively logged for centuries so most of the burls are probably fairly small.

I watch these with my 5 year old daughter to inspire her. Got a woodland mills hm130 and old international 2500a to work with for now as a hobby. She’s been helping stack firewood since she could walk. We aren’t too far off in PA. May have to swing in sometime. She would get a kick out of meeting you all. I gotta tell ya, it's pretty cool seeing these three sisters rocking this lumber yard and saw mill. You gotta respect their work ethics. Kudos to their little brother too. Mom and dad has done a great job raising their kids.
At 2:12 in, your bar tip is shown entering a log behind the one your are bucking. That's asking for a kickback. Pull or roll your bucking log further away from the rest, so that can't happen and locate 4 X 4's under it so the chain doesn't hit the ground below. It only takes a minute or two more, but makes the chain last longer and prevent blade pinching. You can cut up from the bottom when the top will pinch that way also.
I would say the Boss lady knows what she's doing. If it were accidental, she would stop right away to avoid wasting a valuable log. My guess is, she's doing this on purpose. It looks like both logs are lined up perfectly (2:00) and this way she doesn't have to measure the second log, but just continue through these earlier cuts.
Not really smart. Hope it's just for the videos. Probably get by OSHA regs by being an Ag business, but let a workman's comp claim roll up... Wearing the right work clothing helps you work faster, because you don't have to worry about tearing up all that skin... just sayin'.

As a transplant Arizona Desert Rat, I hope y'all never get to thinking that your part of the country isn't just drop dead gorgeous. Sure winter is winter, but I still miss all that green. A firewood delivery in an air-conditioned truck must be a welcome break on a hot summer day. Em is very careful with that delivery rig. Her dad's trust with the equipment is obviously well earned.

Nice work kids, and keep on cutting, I am 62 running a LT 40 old style, no computer you figure out 4 , 5, 6, 8, quarter cuts, no resaw , do all the wood cuts on the same saw, bringing in your own logs, selling on line and fixing the equipment as needed, welcome to life as a cutter, your not the first, you just have a following. At the end of the day as old as I am or as young as you are the end result will be lumber,. I raised 4 kids 3of them were girls, they worked hard early, they now 20 yrs later have a life that will make them comfortable. The life of a family cutter is hard work . You girls should be proud, your dad will be the last memory for the rest of your life. God bless….

Emerald, I've ran a sawmill like you guys run except it didn't have any of the bells and whistles that yours does. So I can relate to how hard the work is. It's hard sweaty work and when the sawdust sticks to you sucks. I applaud you girls for being such great workers at such a tough job. Another thing I wanted to mention is related to your compost and soil business. Have you ever heard of Earthboxes? It's a way of container gardening that produces amazing results. There are vids of how to build your own on TH-cam. And you could make wavy siding enclosures for them. Lastly, I noticed that you ladies are listening to earbuds while you work. So tell us who listens to the better music? Who is better at the different jobs? Sorry for being so long but you guys do amazing work!

Honestly I had to freeze and double check your sister smile at the end because I’m pretty sure my entire living room just lit up with a God light. She is really pretty when she smiles. I was shocked I just haven’t seen it before and I mean that in the most respectful way. I was thinking about your father and how he has clearly busted his tail for a long time raising a family and providing for a lot of people and you girls are his legacy and one day he is going to retire and he will be able to because of your contribution. Just found your channel. I love to watch the mills cut up the big logs, something therapeutic about it. I was so glad to find out that the channel is actually about the milling and lumber and not about showing skin and pretty girls. Don't get me wrong, of course you are all pretty but you keep it modest and you really know what you are doing and that is so cool. Thanks for making these fun videos, I hope your channel is very successful.
The outfits and workers are cute and all, but real workers should wear gloves, long pants and shirt to prevent abrasions and future skin cancer. Dust masks too. It’s not an OSHA thing, just common sense. As a 75 year old former Oregon logger, I’ve learned these lessons the hard way. I’m guessing the outfits are for filming. I suspect they wear real work clothes when the camera’s not there.
No leathers, no gloves but ear protection ( good ) NOT A LOGGER MYSELF. just a carpenter by trade. You have given practical advice thanks so much, Safety is number 1. Priority and you demonstrate a working environment very well. Be safe thanks.

Went and Got my LT15 today, brought it to my property and set er down in the shade. It’s not at the top of my priority list atm, but it’s not low on it either. Came with a unopened box of I think 20 blades, 2 Cant hooks, and some kind of log roller-upper assembly that I gotta figure out… It only had 2 track sections, so I ordered another 1 section, gonna take several months before I get it from woodmizer…I really can’t wait months to try the saw out, I’m gonna have to set it up temporarily and play with it a bit…

The three of yas are an awesome team I've had a few lady pilers but never a lady that knows all the wisdom yous have collected as a team or individually,your all in spectacular shape that's what I love about working with wood the exercise and the connection with the earth gifted to us by the creator!
Please, stop with the glove worries people! Watch carefully how they handle the stock and you'll see why they don't need gloves. Grip...release...never slide the hand. However, it did creep me out seeing the chainsaw tip that other log.

Honestly I had to freeze and double check your sister smile at the end because I’m pretty sure my entire living room just lit up with a God light. She is really pretty when she smiles. I was shocked I just haven’t seen it before and I mean that in the most respectful way. I was thinking about your father and how he has clearly busted his tail for a long time raising a family and providing for a lot of people and you girls are his legacy and one day he is going to retire and he will be able to because of your contribution. I know that he’s proud of you and I am proud of you for him. You are good girls! Hard-working Americans! I hope both of you young ladies find the man of your dreams one day and I hope that he provides for you and gives you the respect that you have shown your father and your mother by mirroring what you have been taught. It doesn’t fall on a deaf conscience who spearheaded the Home school project. Mom deserves a lot of credit! Actually now that I think about it your mom must be really beautiful too if she made you two. And now that I think about it-check your analytics and see how many views eventually that this video gets because reality is reality and people want to watch beautiful young women get stuff done and I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way. Let’s be honest most people would rather watch a Bugatti pull a 20 foot trailer up a pass rather than a pick up truck if a Bugatti could actually do that.
Also your youth and durability along with your beauty has a lot to do with what catches a persons attention. I feel like if I did what you do I would need an ambulance at the end of the day. You’re tough girls and it’s kind of amazing and actually kind of nostalgic to watch and I hope that one day you will be able to understand that. I just hope you never have to do the things I’ve done. Finally emerald your professionalism and accuracy and very deliberate/careful use of words and your editing skills do not fall on an unappreciative conscience.
If Lil sis is OK with it get her in more of your videos I think it will help with the hits. Her stoic demeanor and deliberate action isn’t unnoticed. With that said don’t change the recipe too much I think you’ve got something good going here. The style the format the tempo and especially the audible narration.

Just found your channel. I love to watch the mills cut up the big logs, something therapeutic about it. I was so glad to find out that the channel is actually about the milling and lumber and not about showing skin and pretty girls. Don't get me wrong, of course you are all pretty but you keep it modest and you really know what you are doing and that is so cool. Thanks for making these fun videos, I hope your channel is very successful.
The outfits and workers are cute and all, but real workers should wear gloves, long pants and shirt to prevent abrasions and future skin cancer. Dust masks too. It’s not an OSHA thing, just common sense. As a 75 year old former Oregon logger, I’ve learned these lessons the hard way. I’m guessing the outfits are for filming. I suspect they wear real work clothes when the camera’s not there.
With women it's all the way around, skimpy clothing provides the best armor protection.

Personal protection is up to the person involved. About the only thing that scares me, a little, is their long hair flying around machinery.

Went and Got my LT15 today, brought it to my property and set er down in the shade. It’s not at the top of my priority list atm, but it’s not low on it either. Came with a unopened box of I think 20 blades, 2 Cant hooks, and some kind of log roller-upper assembly that I gotta figure out… It only had 2 track sections, so I ordered another 1 section, gonna take several months before I get it from woodmizer…I really can’t wait months to try the saw out, I’m gonna have to set it up temporarily and play with it a bit…

Been watching this channel for a couple of months now. Very impressed by the work ethic of the entire family. That aside, Emerald and Jade are both absolute gems! Please, stop with the glove worries people! Watch carefully how they handle the stock and you'll see why they don't need gloves. Grip...release...never slide the hand. However, it did creep me out seeing the chainsaw tip that other log.
