As a behavior specialist with client's who have oral sensory needs (PICA, chewing, mouthing) this is very helpful information to share with the parents when they ask, "how do I get my child to stop..." Thank you!
I experience discomfort while speaking, particularly with words that include the 'd' or 't' sound, as my tongue hurts. I feel while speaking like my tongue is only responsible for speaking and there no such tension feel on lips while speaking. I feel like the total control during speak only on tongue. Please suggest some exercises for correction this problem
11 yr old boy doesn't chew hard or even normal food, only eats soft food. He says his mouth hurts .... Dentists confirm everything in the teeth gums jaw etc is fine. He just needs to chew and use his teeth and jaw

That's great to hear, Jennifer! I'm glad we can be helpful to you and your clients!
Sour spray! Woah! I couldn't EVEN - but maybe that means I need to practice that sensory stimulation more!
Great ideas thank you! What are some examples of how you document these exercises?
When you say "document," do you mean in a treatment note?
Thank you for this ❤️
We're glad it's helpful!
Thats great❤
Quick question can I use like a sour candy instead of the sour spray?
Sure! Always using candy that is safe for the child!

It would be beneficial to seek out a trained therapist who specializes in speech and oral myofunctional therapy!

Could be that he hasn't developed the strength and endurance throughout his oral structures! A feeding therapist might be good to look into!
For sensory seeker who is always smelling things like crazy???
could be seeking olfactory input!
