All of my children were born tongue-tied. They all had their tongues clipped the next day after birth, except for my youngest, who had health issues, so it wasnt recommended. He's an adult now and still complains about his tongue because his is tied all the way to the tip of his tongue. I also have two siblings that are tongue-tied and they hate their short tongues. It's important for it to be clipped for social reasons and intimacy.

My DD is 4 weeks old and had her frenectomy 2 weeks ago. I have altered my diet for breastfeeding, she is on a reflux medication, and she's been to chiropractor but for all of that she remains quite fussy and never remains in a remotely relaxed state for exercises like this or suck training. Any tips or suggestions? Thank you and appreciate your videos!!!

When did body work and oral motor exercise become part of the scope of practice for a Lactation Consultant? This looks like more of what a PT or OT are better trained to do.

I’ve watched a few of these videos and I’m not trying to be offensive, but I was born in 1974 and no one came to our house for this. My parents were born in 1949 and 1950, and no one made a house call to do this with my parents as babies. My own son was born in 1995, and … you can see where I’m going with this.
    We all survived, though.
Speaking of “consent,” I saw a similar video a couple of months ago in which new parents were being “taught” to ALWAYS ask their baby for “consent” before doing ANYTHING AT ALL. Ask if it’s okay to change their diaper, nurse them or give them a bottle, ask if it’s “okay” to remove their clothes to give them a bath, then ask if it’s okay to give them a bath, and so on.
If you work outside the home, which is becoming the norm now, you’re certainly NOT going to have the time to ask for your baby’s “consent.”
When you’re confronted at work with “why are you 4 hours late?” Replying, “my new baby had other plans” isn’t going to be acceptable.

I don’t understand when older generations reflect back on the lack of resources they had as a good thing. That’s like saying it was better 100 years ago because they didn’t have the internet and how much better off they were. Or wasn’t great when we didn’t have ultrasound technology and we just took a guess at what health condition a person had? It doesn’t make any sense. My techniques and exercises are based off of decades of evidence based research both from a medical and therapy perspective as well as psychology. I’m glad you all survived as humans, but my goal is to help babies and families thrive.

    LMAO!!
NEVER ONCE, not ONE time have i seen a video where they ask the babies "permission" and the baby just FLATLY REFUSE!
    Meaning: its BS!!!
the baby doesn't give "permission" its just laying there doing what they all do.moving their mouths all over the place...has NOTHING to do with "permission" and if it did then why hasn't ONE VIDEO ever ended without babies "consenting" and giving their "permission"??!!????!!!!!!🤔🤨🤯such SILLYNESS.

I actually do have that video…. It’s further down in the series called respecting infant cues. Babies can consent to play. If the baby is crying, isn’t ready, turns their head away or won’t open their mouth, those are the signs they are not consenting and the goal is not to force the exercise but to wait and try again when the baby is willing to participate.
