I love hard trails 15+ km, no people wearing flip-flops, no noise, just nature, marmots and sometimes good people on trail. I will add this trail into my basket list, so beautiful views
I was chasing white-crowned sparrows at Fortress Mountain in June 1986. Orval Pall was conducting an aerial survey of big horn sheep in the valley. We had seen his plane on several occasions and on 06 June, I had him in my spotting scope on several occasions, and waved madly at the plane as I always did. On our way to work the next morning, we heard his plane had crashed and another was missing. It was the beginning of that terrible week of tragedy in the Kananaskis Valley.
Thank you for watching and commenting. It's a great hike/scramble. This was not a regular hike, once I touched the memorial, I felt like it was a great honour to be there.
It's 7.7k the way I went. If you take the shorter way up Ribbon Creek it will be about 7.3k. Keep hiking up the right side of the creek, it's a little steep but then you will get to the second waterfall. It's a magical spot.😁 and there is no scrambling as of this point.

I am with you there 100%. This trail is well worth it. We only passed 2 people on the trail, 2 older guys that have been hiking buddies for 40 years.😁

Such a tragedy. It's a great memorial to honour the men that died in the 3 plane crashes😢
Thank you . Very informative and helpful. Go🙌

Thank you for watching and commenting. It's an awesome hike😁
Wow those views were gorgeous!
This one was tough, but the reward of seeing all 3 lakes made up for it😁
Thanks so much for posting.
Thank you, for watching and commenting.
Pre flood you could bike to where it turned off from the old Ribbon Creek trail which made the first and last 4 km faster and easier
That would have been nice, the last 4k out was very long🤣🤣🤣
Just gorgeous :)
Thanks James 😁😁😁
Very nice. Memorial Lakes is in my heart as well. Got some vids too :)
Ya it's a great memorial to the memories of those that passed, such a beautiful hike. Are your videos personal or do you have a TH-cam channel.
Those waterfalls were stunning! The lakes are a bit outside my skill level though lol.
The hike up to the waterfalls is not bad at all. It's a destination all in itself. Add it to your list.😁
very nice scenery. how namy km. to that waterfalls where you said “if this would be end of the hike”?
