Why (in my opinion) the F91w is the best watch in the world: 1) It's cheap to buy. 2) It's 100% reliable 3) It's extremely accurate. 4) You don't have to charge it up every night. 5) You don't have to wind it up 6) It doesn't need servicing. 7) It's so comfortable you forget you're wearing it. 8) It's as tough as any G Shock in real world conditions. If you damage your F91w, I shudder to think what state your arm will be in. 9) It's slender so it fits comfortably under the tightest of shirt cuffs. 10) No one wants to mug me for my F91w. 11) I'm not afraid of damaging it. 12) It has an hourly chime 13) It has an alarm 14) It has a backlight. It's not the best in the world but does a Patek Philippe have one? 15) It's low tech and that's what I like 16) It has a 24 hour option 17) It sit beautifully on the wrist & it's the antidote to the trend for watches the size of UFOs. 18) It's Japanese tech & Japanese tech is the shit 19) It's retro cool 20) The battery lasts up to 7 years and sometimes longer 21) When the battery dies, a replacement costs pennies 22) It's not conceited 23) If you lose it, it's not the end of the world 24) It's iconic 25) It comes in lots of different colours 26) It's far more water resistant than Casio claim 27) It has a stopwatch 28) It's a Casio Amen,
It is all the watch 99% of people will ever need. Cheap and cheerful. I wore one as my daily in the 90s. It lasted almost a decade until the strap fell apart, never had to change the battery. Bought a second F-91W for $12 a few years ago and gave it to my son. He loves it and wears it often.

I'm not a watch enthusiast or anything. At the time, I needed a watch for work (construction) so I was looking for something inexpensive. I fell in love with this watch and I wear it almost all the time. I've used the stopwatch function at the gym a few times and have even used the alarm to wake me up for work a few times when my phone was down. Yes the light isn't great but it does the job. I thought the asymmetrical backlight on my Casio F91W was broken, until he showed the same issue on a new one. That's just how it is. Still a great watch.
I’ve a modest collection of ten more pricey watches ($100 to 1000). I boughts a f91 on a whim last fall for sports and knockabout. Perfect time and function. My impressions went up huge after it accidentally went thru a full wash/dry laundry cycle in February. No effect and dry as bone inside.
When one of my kids asks for a watch they get one of these (or one of the variants). It's cool that it fits a six-year-old and they can wear it for the rest of their life if they want. The functionality/simplicity is great for kids as well.

I also think the Casio MW-59-7B is right up there with this watch. They both just look amazing on everyone. As a sidenote, this watch actually has great water resistance. I have taken it for the past three years to the waterpark with my kids and I swim with it and it’s been perfect. At least that’s my experience.
Yay, what a great review! The F105 and A168 both have a similar design but with a Super Illuminator backlight that is leagues better than the F91W. You should check out the SKX MOD metal cases/sapphire crystals that fit the F91W/F105/A168, or even the Casio LCW-M100 which has a sapphire crystal, titanium case and bracelet, 50 meters of WR, dual time zone, atomic and tough solar for under $200(!).
I bought a Ritche Canvas Quick Release Watch Band in black/blue trim that matches the Casio F-91W perfectly on Amazon for $19.99. It's the watch I wear most these days besides my modded Casio Royale. 😊
3:40 I'm among that 'lot of people', I make $150 a month working on a full-time job, so spending $15 on a watch is a big NO for me, it's just too expensive 🤷
I've been wearing them for ten years. I'm cheap. I'm on my third one. The first one went seven or so years, the second one I gave away, and the newest one which looks just like the first one, runs great.
I bought one and caved into the hype a few months ago, so no worries. It’s quite the cool watch and it matches the hype. I still don’t wear it more than my 5610, but I wear it a fair bit. Then again, I also impulsively bought a $1000 meteorite and titanium bulova lunar pilot 🤣 My impulsiveness usually works in my favor as a collector, we will see.
Bought them as first watches for my sons. Both were under six years of age at the time. It’s all the watch almost anyone needs. But the backlight is horrendous. And if you have old eyes it can be hard to read. Still a great watch which is why I have five different colors.
strange thing about this watch is that you're not actually allowed to hate it. even if you do hate it with every fiber of your being, you somehow lose "watch cred" if you say you hate this watch so you have to say you love it - at least in public. it's some sort of reverse snobbery juju.
I always thought it looks really cool. The water resistens is more than 30 meters. You can easily swim with it! Also the light is really enough to tell the time in thw dark
I've got one and for some inexplicable reason I still take really good care of it. Still use gshocks as beaters. But this? This one deserves to stay nice.
Golly, I think you might really enjoy a Freestyle Shark. Similar case shape to the f91w, and similarly ultralight and ultra affordable, but featuring a great backlight and a second time zone. But more importantly, check out all those colors! You love colors! Plus, it has a cool history of being an authentically important tool watch for a whole subculture (surfers during the Rad Era) because of a pretty elegant technical innovation--buttons that you can push underwater without compromising the water resistance. Lemme know if you wanna borrow mine (it's hot pink and neon green).
casio w-202 is also great watch, have used one for few years; I have also been so dum about 20 years ago that I bought omega speed master day date after graduation from high school which I sold a few years later; it was painful to keep over expensive watch on hand or maybe I was simply too poor to own one.
i got a clear blue f-91w and a silver metal bracelet a700w, wear them all the time for years. Don't have to think about them in the morning or baby them, good looking, cute on me bc im small (these work on anyone tho), simple, and let me save the other watches i got for when i have time to appreciate or laugh at them :) agree on wanting more water resistance tho, i'd be set
I’m lucky I have an iwatch (it was a gift from my dad for Christmas) but if I didn’t have an iwatch this would be my go to. That or an Ironman or gshock in the $40 range or less.

12) It has an hourly chime
13) It has an alarm
14) It has a backlight. It's not the best in the world but does a Patek Philippe have one?
15) It's low tech and that's what I like
16) It has a 24 hour option
17) It sit beautifully on the wrist & it's the antidote to the trend for watches the size of UFOs.
18) It's Japanese tech & Japanese tech is the shit
19) It's retro cool
20) The battery lasts up to 7 years and sometimes longer
21) When the battery dies, a replacement costs pennies
22) It's not conceited
23) If you lose it, it's not the end of the world
24) It's iconic
25) It comes in lots of different colours
26) It's far more water resistant than Casio claim
27) It has a stopwatch
28) It's a Casio
Amen,
Amen 🙌🏼

Yay, what a great review! The F105 and A168 both have a similar design but with a Super Illuminator backlight that is leagues better than the F91W. You should check out the SKX MOD metal cases/sapphire crystals that fit the F91W/F105/A168, or even the Casio LCW-M100 which has a sapphire crystal, titanium case and bracelet, 50 meters of WR, dual time zone, atomic and tough solar for under $200(!).
Nice, iconic watch. I am very tempted to get one own DW-290 it is a bit big for my wrist TBH.
I wish Casio would make a larger version of this. I have a few variants of this, I love them... But damn, I wish they had a larger one.
the W217H-1AV is technically the bigger model.
@@raziel3099 Yeah. But it looks weird. The height seems to much in the LCD and the numbers look stretched vertically. I don't like how it looks.
There are plenty of larger options. Not exactly like same but has the same features and most are better in all regards.
I bought a Ritche Canvas Quick Release Watch Band in black/blue trim that matches the Casio F-91W perfectly on Amazon for $19.99. It's the watch I wear most these days besides my modded Casio Royale. 😊
Your backlight capture is prefect... really nice camera my man. Thanx for letting us know that your wrist is $16 in size.
How much is that cm?
Like 2cm, I think. Maybe 300. Not sure.
Harrison Elmore just tested this bad boy and it can handle at least double 30m. Swim with confidence. You can even dive with it.
Watching this while wearing an F91-W. Downgrading from my G-Shocks just for the light weight form factor.
Bought them as first watches for my sons. Both were under six years of age at the time. It’s all the watch almost anyone needs. But the backlight is horrendous. And if you have old eyes it can be hard to read. Still a great watch which is why I have five different colors.
super fantastic watch for daily use
Another awesome video! I think I've put one of these in my "cart" like 1,000 times...
strange thing about this watch is that you're not actually allowed to hate it. even if you do hate it with every fiber of your being, you somehow lose "watch cred" if you say you hate this watch so you have to say you love it - at least in public. it's some sort of reverse snobbery juju.
I always thought it looks really cool.
The water resistens is more than 30 meters. You can easily swim with it!
Also the light is really enough to tell the time in thw dark
great kids watch but it’s small AF for anyone with in middle school. The g shock 5600 crushes this 🙌🏻
I've got one and for some inexplicable reason I still take really good care of it. Still use gshocks as beaters. But this? This one deserves to stay nice.
I had this watch until my little nephew decided it was the perfect gift for himself last Christmas. I've been missing it ever since! 😅
I wouldn't be too worried about the water resistance. I read in many places that folks swim with these and don't have any issue.
Don't have an F-91W but I have the bigger version of it. Absolutely freakin love it. It's my go to for a beater if im not wearing my smart watch.
I just don't know when/why I would put this on over a 5600.
I’ve tried a lot of Casios and the 5600 is the absolute best. F91w was an awesome gift for my nephew though
i got a clear blue f-91w and a silver metal bracelet a700w, wear them all the time for years. Don't have to think about them in the morning or baby them, good looking, cute on me bc im small (these work on anyone tho), simple, and let me save the other watches i got for when i have time to appreciate or laugh at them :) agree on wanting more water resistance tho, i'd be set
Please review the metal band version!
I’m lucky I have an iwatch (it was a gift from my dad for Christmas) but if I didn’t have an iwatch this would be my go to. That or an Ironman or gshock in the $40 range or less.
What is this 3rd person's wrist size?!?
I’ve collected 40 Casios, but no F91W yet. I’ve its big brother- W217H though.
Think this might be my favourite review of this fantastic watch 👍👍👍
My home from work ritual involves switching to slippers and an F105-can’t beat a resin Casio for comfort.
If you have to choose one digital watch, will it be this f91w or the g shock (which ever)?
I own both and the only real advantage of g shock for me is world time. F91 are more universal and I wear them more often
