Dior Homme, a powdery iris and woody scent for men, was introduced in the original version in 2005 and then later came the new 2011 version. The 2020 version of Dior Homme Eau de Toilette is announced with the slogan "I'm Your Man." The 2011 edition remains on the shelves under the name, Dior Homme Original.
The new Dior Homme is created by Dior in-house perfumer Francois Demachy who wanted to redefine masculine sensuality. The fragrance is intensely woody, warm, and sensual. A virile accord of Atlas cedar and the warmth of cashmere wood are pampered with spicy aromas.
"This new Dior Homme has an unmistakably virile signature that does not prevent it from developing tender, sensual accents. It basically draws the portrait of a modern man." François Demachy, Dior Perfumer-Creator
According to the perfumer, this is a fragrance overdosed with carnal woody notes, and it represents a return to the basics: classic and simplicity. It is clear, clean, gentle, and woody but also slightly sweet, and wears like a second skin.
The new bottle follows the architectural design of its predecessors, with a more prominent logo and perfume name on the plug. The face of the advertising campaign remains actor Robert Pattinson.
Dior Homme is available as a 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette with the accompanying grooming line, now available in new packaging.

I actually like the new one better and much more suited for my country: Brazil. The original one is great, very sophysticated, but I could only wear it on Winter times. Dior Homme 2020 is much more versatile. The new Dior Sport was also a great release in my opinion.
I sprayed the Dior Homme 2020 on my hands today at Macy's and I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I like it now. My girlfriend loved it too (but she even said the original DH is better). I guess I was more open minded tonight but I actually enjoy DH 2020 now. I think in a few years people will start to appreciate this more.

Was sitting in my office last week thinking, “Man, what smells so good?” Realized I had a card with a spray of 2020 on it sitting on my desk. I forgot I had picked it up at the mall. Could smell it for days. I am not familiar with the original, but this stuff smells good. It’s woody, clean and masculine. Not sure why they completely changed one of their fragrances, but I have a hunch this one will eventually be a good seller for Dior.
Same here 2 days later and I could still smell it. This stuff smells amazing IMO, was actually trying to sample the intense and liked this instead
I've ordered 100ml of it I've got edu toillete version is that only version of the new one or is there a parfum. I normally wear sauvage parfum but wanted the this for daily and gym wear.

I picked this up today along with Brioni EDP intense and I absolutely love both. This smells insanely well put together. And sneakily powerful. The Brioni is a straight banger as well.
Yeah brioni is intoxicating.
They reformulated it, which they did previously years back. I don’t like the new version, which is why I switched to Dior Homme Intense EDP. Hope they don’t ruin that one as well. The Intense is the heavier and more intense version. I even like the perfum version, but always sold out. This works best during the colder months, and not so much during summer.
Almost two years later and I LOVE the new version of Dior Homme. It just works and wears like a second skin, similarly to how Molecule 01 is.
Have the original Dior homme and intense and love them But 2020 is a work horse..At first I was unimpressed but the more I wore it the more I said I may need another bottle bc it’s so easy to wear
The originally was a poor seller in real life. The frag community does not work represent the real sales volume. Worked many years in the frag retail world never did I have a single person ask for original Dior Homme sadly. The employees did not like it either. The new reform is a huge star and guarantee will do better than the original.

@@javierayala4152 Absolutely! Prada Lhomme is my favorite fragrance. Ive owned so many fragrances over the years and I just cant something that is better and more appealing to my taste. I like this Dior Homme 2020 but dont love it. The opening is fantastic to me.

Do not be fooled by the word sport! Switch it for Elegance, so call it instead of Dior sport, call it Dior Elegance

Realized I got all the other versions of Dior homme flankers with that iris note so actually it was a nice refreshing change up to have a more woody masculine version come out that stood on its own. Now if I still want to wear that iris I’ll just go to my eau for man, intense, or parfum. Mind you I do also have the cologne and sport version of these too but still the 2020 differs from those as well. Thx man. PS In college I did a crisis management essay on the 80s coke reformulation and how they screwed themselves. That sure helped Pepsi our quite a bit. Haha
Dior Homme 2020 is not really bad... It is just not as good as the pre-2020 version of it. My 1st impression was: "Why Dior? Why?". Dior Homme is my signature scent... It is my baby. Thankfully, I own a couple of bottles of the good stuff, including a 2011 bottle and a 2007 bottle. Thank you for the great rebiew.
Kev, word is the OG Dior Homme is being discontinued in North America. Supposedly, it will only be available in Europe, or just in France.

Wooow i thought the same thing kev , that's crazy just got back from the mall. Macy's had this at the counter I sprayed it on , it was gone I couldn't smell it no more ....,4- hours...?what just happened to my favorite cologne is gone, why did they miss with it.
I will try it precisely because they removed the iris, it's a note that I don't like and actually always avoid.
That Dior is really good.
Truth is in hindsight Olivier Polge is the one who "gave birth" to the Homme of Dior with its signature iris note and Demachy merely improved on its flankers. Guess what? Olivier Polge is now the in-house perfumer of CHANEL. I know it may seem nothing to consumers but the signature of a perfume will always be tied to the master perfumer at its inception. Wih that said, i am very excited what Olivier Polge will bring to the men's line of fragrances and hope he will show his mastery with iris in mens fragrance.
Demachy always excel in dark oriental area, just like how he created Homme Parfum. Poor him, all his talent in oriental area just got wasted by Dior.

If Dior just released this under a different name, it would be loved by everyone. It's very good. If you want to smell like a clean cut man who has his life together, this is a fantastic purchase. If you like Dior Homme 2011, that's fine. But Dior Homme 2020 is excellent in its own right.
I've been wracking my brain 🧠 trying to get a sense of which Dior Homme to buy as a 1st Dior Homme buyer... & your comment (along with other youtube videos) might've tilted the scale.

I bought a 200ml Sauvage Eau De Parfum because I’d never heard anything bad about it. Kinda sad about it because it’s not as amazing as everyone says it is. It came with the 2020 Homme and I love it, even more than Sauvage. Is Homme Intense similar to the 2020 blend?

Never ever do that lol. That’s a huge mistake. Always try it on your skin. Get samples. Always get samples. They are your friend.
Savage was hyped up but didn't live up to it whatsoever. The women love it which gave it a boost but outside of that it isn't even in the top 50 best fragrances.
I don't like irish and lipstick parfume for men so I like DH2020 better. The dry down is vetiver, musky and woody. Imagine you mix terre d'hermes with montblanc explorer or club de nuit, that's what I had in mind when I smelled DH2020. Maybe it's so simple, not as complex as DH original but the smell is so addicting, makes me want to cuddle myself LOL.

Idk about these fragrances but he's definitely right about coke. I worked for coke and got a lot of free coke and it's stronger than Pepsi, almost makes Pepsi seem very weak.

I tried sauvage at the mall. It was a very light scent and I didn't understand what the rage about it was. I bought Paco Rabanne 1 million prive instead.
@@jaws2003 I tried both scents, the Dior Sauvage Eau de Toilette and Dior Sauvage Parfum at Macy's but I went with Versace Eros from the Fragrance Outlet. I definitely want to try Paco Rabanne 1 Million Prive and Paco Rabanne 1 Million Lucky as well as Azzaro Wanted by Night since I tried the originals.
I tried it at Dillards and was very disappointed. To me it was another massed produced wood based fresh scent. I would much rather wear Dunhill Icon.

I had worn Dior Homme exclusively since 2006. Bought the 2020 update after running out of my last bottle of original. Sprayed it on in the morning before work, went home and took a shower for lunch, and returned it to the store when I got off work. I’ve been scentless for weeks. Can someone recommend a good substitute?

I'm not a fan of iris, so this one hits pretty hard for me.. In 5 years when its reformulated to smell like a rose's ass some of us wi'll be looking for the Dior Homme 2020.
Kevin, I love your analogy with COKE, because I was thinking the same thing. I'm not sure if you are aware. I'm hearing that Dior Homme "Original" will be in select markets of Europe exclusively (primarily because that is where it is still selling the best), and will be phased out completely in the States in favor of the 2020 version. I am being told that the sales success of the safer "blueish" fragrance wave here in the states has prompted Dior to rebrand Dior Homme to capitalize on that because they were not satisfied with the sales here in the States. Only time will tell if this was a wise move, but for me it is a pass because I have plenty of dumb reach SAFE fragrances in my arsenal. Also because I respect the original so much, i wish they just launched an entirely new line altogether for this. Also it is unclear if they plan to replace DHI and or DHP with this new DNA..but my money is on that is where Dior is heading, so I already secured my backup bottles of the original(s).
