rosie giesler Right? The first (and to this day the only) black actress who's played Elphaba in a principle position. I'm waiting for this to finally happen on broadway, there's so many talented women of color who could play this role!
I’m rooting for you!!! It’s a bit sad that we haven’t seen more black elphabas and glindas but we are getting there! I’ll keep an eye out for you on the new cast lists ;)
She was my first Elphaba! She was the only cast member I met at the stage door! She was amazing and she was nice. It was back in July of 2009 when I saw it in London
@dalis902 The green makeup (they usually use) is Mac Chromacake in the color Landscape. It's part of their "Pro" collection, so you have to have a pro account to purchase it from their website, and it's fairly expensive. Some alternatives for the green are Paradise Makeup AQ, which is about $10. The powder is a theatrical setting powder which is translucent. Baby powder would make the makeup look chalky because it's white, and wouldn't keep the makeup from smudging. Ben Nye powder is also $10.
I love her! Saw her in the lion king when she played YOUNG nala, then she was ADULT nala when i saw the show again....then I saw her in Wicked.....and I saw her 2 weeks ago as Eponine in Les Mis!!!! She is such a brilliant singer/actress!!
I just watched her 2 nights ago and she's really good. I personally prefer her to Kerry Ellis (listened to Ellis on youtube). Khadime's powerful voice just reverberates across the theatre. Defo a must-watch.
heres a question I got for her. what was it like working with Rebecca Sugar? and does this actress still do wicked, or has she moved on to something else? the answer is probably yes since she was Sardonyx
Is anybody else but me aware that Alexia has also been playing in "The Lion King" in the role of Nala for roughly 4 years before she joined "Wicked"? She was the first African-British (Is that how you describe a dark-skinned Britan? I'm not trying to be racist!) to ever play Elphaba!!! WOW!!!!!!
i saw her about a month ago, really didnt want to see her and i was hoping i got the standby or understudy but i got alexia and i was glad i did she was great.
@LoveBroadway1510 It could be Pros-Aide which is acres stronger than spirit gum as far as adhering goes. Or it could be regular spirit gum - I don't know for sure though, I'm afraid.
@Merina2222 Hey, I saw her on stage last week. She is INCREDIBLE. She has a really unique voice - she has an amazing range and it's a really powerful instrument. Definitely go see her!
Because England is full of radically different accents. The north is utterly different in accent and dialect. There's no such thing as a general "English" accent just as there's no one "American accent".
She pretty much has an RP British accent. So you could just say English, because she has what is considered the 'proper' or 'average' English accent, but as MrSuperDecimal said, it wouldn't properly cover it.
sick!!! haha she is so cute when she snorts XD and shes so lovely!! its really odd, the wig, must get hot wearing every night!! is it two wigs for act I and II?really interesting how she has her own personal green, i love it :) hers is more minty than kerry's, which i love :) thanks for this, lexi is my fav elphie!!
She is so beautiful!!!! But what I don't get is if she has to glue her wig down, how do they do quick wig changes??? Like When she does the cat fight scene it's up in a bun and when she comes out to do no good deed it's curled out at the end???
I'd never seen you with out all the green. I thought you were gorgeous and green, good god with out green you're still amazing! I love your performing!,
@Beatully If you're talking about rachel tucker and lou dearman you must be out of your mind! Don't rate it before you see it coz trust me, they CAN sing.
I've seen Wicked many times with many Elphabas nd I am so thrilled that I had the opportunity to see her, but I was somewhat disappointed with how the West End treated her case. She is the ONLY black woman to play the role full-time in ANY production. That should be celebrated. It's huge, but when you see the show you can never tell, because she is covered in the green. When watching the show her skin is covered up so much that you can't even tell she is green. On top of that they made her wear the same wig that screams "I'm white under the green. Or at the very least they could've made the actress playing Nessa a black woman to indicate that Elphaba came from a family of colored people. Instead they took a beautiful milestone in black advancement and passed her off as a white girl as always. I hope they can learn for the next black girl to play her.
either both mics (main and backup) are kept right at the top of the forehead or the main is on the forehead and the back is placed on the ear. both mic packs will be kept together either in the wig or on the lower back.
She is my idol the first black elphaba gives me hope that after my training I could play her as a black girl

Third time Ive seen Wicked but first time seeing Alexia & Lucy and by far the best performance I hv ever seen!!! Absolutely incredible ❤❤❤❤
Everyone who plays her ends up being green. So why would skin color even be a factor for this character?
@doomslayer1984 People of color oftentimes don't get roles as easily as white people
So so happy to have her back as Elphaba next year! I've worked with her in The Prince of Egypt and she's the sweetest human being!
OMG her little snorts when she laughs she's so adorable
She was my first Elphaba! She was the only cast member I met at the stage door! She was amazing and she was nice. It was back in July of 2009 when I saw it in London

I just watched her 2 nights ago and she's really good. I personally prefer her to Kerry Ellis (listened to Ellis on youtube). Khadime's powerful voice just reverberates across the theatre. Defo a must-watch.

Yes, she's African American, that's exactly why she has a European accent.
South of England.
How hard is it to say English? An English accent.
Because England is full of radically different accents. The north is utterly different in accent and dialect.

I wasn't sure where she was from. My point was she's not African American
lexi looks amazing green ....... so does every elphaba

SARDOOOONYXX

THRILLIFYING NEWS: Alexia is returning!!!! She replaces Lucie Jones next year!!

Hello, Sardonyx.
@pjcp97 She's Black British.
