What a beautiful performance. The dancers are superb but so is the setting. A big THANK YOU to the set designers and the wardrobe designers and all who work with them. Without you good people the show just would not have the impact that it has. The costumes are beautiful and so colourful. And of course, a resounding applause and standing ovation for the orchestra, without whom nothing happens. Thank you so much for such a captivating and brilliant performance.
You are exactly right. The Craftsmen and women who helped put this all together do not get the accolades they deserve. for without them, the production is nothing. As an ex-Scenic Artist, I have to say that the set design is geat, but the scenic painting and flats are superb.
I watched this video three times, and every time I think the Coppelia performed by the Bolshoi Theatre is really wonderful, showing a unique charm and temperament, it is a treasure on earth and a gift from heaven.

My parrot likes to watch this too. I work in a assisted living facility and on one of the residents was once a famous Russian Ballerina, how much she talks about missing being able to dance and perform.

OHLALA! 😅😄quel bonheur d'écouter/voir ce ballet de Coppélia ! infiniment MERCI de l'avoir partagé en vidéo ! j'ai 66 ans aujourd'hui et cette musique a bercé mon enfance entre 6 et 11-12 ans ; les parents n'avaient pas la télé, nous n'étions évidemment saturés de rien, ni d'images ni de musique, tout pouvait sembler sensationnel ! et un jour mon père est arrivé à la maison avec un électrophone et quelques disques...parmi eux : la 9è de Beethoven et ...Coppélia ! j'étais amoureuse de cette musique et l'ai tellement tellement écoutée....je ne l'avais plus écoutée depuis ce temps, et n'ai jamais eu de ma vie l'opportunité de le voir ni en vrai ni comme çà, dans une transmission filmée...j'en ai les larmes aux yeux de bonheur, je n'aurais jamais pu mieux imaginer le ballet, les danseurs sont très talentueux et la mise en scène et les décors splendides ! 1000 mercis, je le reçois comme un vrai cadeau d'anniversaire !!!

I have never even heard of this ballet performance before (that goes for much of it, seeing as there was never so much exposure to it in childhood). Beautiful, elegant, wonderful music, and even a bit of cheeky humor, all in one package. So lovely :)

Natalia is certainly one of the the best Russian Ballerinas, just as Marianela is the best Argentinian Ballet Dancer and Lauren is our best English Dancer. They all perform wonderfully, in their own particular way, and fortunately, we have them all dancing for the Royal Ballet. God is good!

Magnificent performance! I've always loved Delibes' music for this ballet, but had never seen it performed. The Bolshoi always puts on such a grand show. If anybody in the USA ever finds out why PBS stopped showing ballet, please let me know. I guess it was a fad thing, like everything else here.

I’ve just finished watching this, this evening, and it has been wonderful. The Bolshoi theatre looked sumptuous, The Orchestra magnificent, the production and presentation and excellent filming perfect, and of course, Osipova being a force of nature…. I’ve really enjoyed watching this, with my Jack Russell Terrier, along with whom, it is a first time for watching this lovely Ballet. He may agree with Tchaikovsky, who said that after Hearing Delibe he couldn’t have composed Swan Lake, but he likes Offenbach’s “papillon”, especially, and “often barks” when he hears the music!
I like Osipova because apart of her technique when she dances you can see a healthy girl full of life and energy . She is not a dancing skeleton as some other female dancers.
Yes she is beautiful full of energy an amazing dancer. As for the other comment you made about skeletal dancers, I find that a little unfair. I have dated a former professional prima ballerina, yes, she is very slight & beautiful nonetheless. These angels have a tough life to be where they need to be. Some go through things like anorexia to think they are too big to dance. There are psychological issues some dancers have. Please don’t think because they are skin & bone, they’re all beautiful.

I think many young ballerinas are excellent athletes but don’t really qualify as dancers. Technique is a part of dance but without embodied interpretation of character and music there is no dance.

I have had the enormous fortune and good luck of going several times to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, really an unforgettable experience, both watching several classical and modern ballets and also seeing numerous Russian operas, some of them very well known -Eugene Oneguin, The Queen of Spades-, some quite strange to non Slavian audiences, such as Ivan Suzanin, Iolanthe, Héroidiade, Jovantschina, Mazeppa, etc. I think the Bolshoi is something unbelievable beautiful.
Great job by everyone involved and bravo as well like those in the balcony were screaming! lol Enjoyed this immensely and texted my grown daughters and granddaughters who are partly of Ukrainian Russian descent to watch this famous beautiful ballet, too! I'm a former retired NYC fashion illustrator and studied the history of costume so my eagle eye was watching all the costume details as well. One of my favorite coloring books when I was growing up was a book of ballet costumes which I adored! I'm also a painter and have worked on sets for local theaters before which has always been fun! Love those stately trees , the sets were great, too! And I've played pieces from Coppelia on the piano and am a composer of piano pieces in a classical/folk and Broadway vein and am the composer of an American light folk opera which has been performed publicly. So anything that has to do with music, dance, theater and art is right up my alley as well....thanks and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year 2023 as well, blessings to all! ♥🎼🎵🎹🎨🖌🩰🎭♥

Qué hermosura el vestuario y la iluminación. Me gusta toda la puesta en escena y la música. Me trae recuerdos de la versión hecha por el Ballet del Sodre y la Orquesta en el Palacio Peñarol en 1998 en Uruguay. Menos vestuario y decorado adecuado a un estadio deportivo pero logró un encanto particular. Esta obra está hecha por todo lo alto y con la calidad del Ballet Bolshoi sin duda alguna, muy bueno que la hayan subido y poder disfrutarla.
Tremendo recuerdo de 1975. Estudiaba en el inco de puente alto y nos llevaron al teatro municipal de santiago de chile a ver esta gran obra de balet. Gracias señorita dina mendieta profesora de musica gestora de este regalo

I have had the enormous fortune and good luck of going several times to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, really an unforgettable experience, both watching several classical and modern ballets and also seeing numerous Russian operas, some of them very well known -Eugene Oneguin, The Queen of Spades-, some quite strange to non Slavian audiences, such as Ivan Suzanin, Iolanthe, Héroidiade, Jovantschina, Mazeppa, etc. I think the Bolshoi is something unbelievable beautiful.
This is a stand out performance. Thank you, spasibo Bolshoi!

Great job by everyone involved and bravo as well like those in the balcony were screaming! lol Enjoyed this immensely and texted my grown daughters and granddaughters who are partly of Ukrainian Russian descent to watch this famous beautiful ballet, too! I'm a former retired NYC fashion illustrator and studied the history of costume so my eagle eye was watching all the costume details as well. One of my favorite coloring books when I was growing up was a book of ballet costumes which I adored! I'm also a painter and have worked on sets for local theaters before which has always been fun! Love those stately trees , the sets were great, too! And I've played pieces from Coppelia on the piano and am a composer of piano pieces in a classical/folk and Broadway vein and am the composer of an American light folk opera which has been performed publicly. So anything that has to do with music, dance, theater and art is right up my alley as well....thanks and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year 2023 as well, blessings to all! ♥🎼🎵🎹🎨🖌🩰🎭♥

вы простите,что в этом храме позволю себе вольность,но слушая 5 минут ведущую вспомнил сценку из квн(имени меня)где пара,на юбилей,зашла в магазин для взрослых и впечатлившись увиденным попросила инструкцию к одному изделию. и... - а вы знаете,нам и инструкции достаточно..
вот так и я,разинув рот, слушал 5 минут Екатерину Новикову.. БРАВО!!
Qué hermosura el vestuario y la iluminación. Me gusta toda la puesta en escena y la música. Me trae recuerdos de la versión hecha por el Ballet del Sodre y la Orquesta en el Palacio Peñarol en 1998 en Uruguay. Menos vestuario y decorado adecuado a un estadio deportivo pero logró un encanto particular. Esta obra está hecha por todo lo alto y con la calidad del Ballet Bolshoi sin duda alguna, muy bueno que la hayan subido y poder disfrutarla.
Tremendo recuerdo de 1975. Estudiaba en el inco de puente alto y nos llevaron al teatro municipal de santiago de chile a ver esta gran obra de balet. Gracias señorita dina mendieta profesora de musica gestora de este regalo
El ballet sobre todo estas bellezas de interpretación con capaces de curar todos los males del mundo

Exatamente Romilda, você está certíssima! Osipova vive neste personagem a expressão de sua perfeição, como virtuosa absoluta que é. Ouso dizer que gosto mais dela aqui de Swanilda do que em outras memoráveis interpretações, como Giselle, Kitri, Jeanne ou Nikya!
