Mad as a box of frogs! But, he's such a lovely, genuine and interesting character and I love his work. I've only just discovered him but his my favorite artist by far.
@expatbritingermany Someone I know recently listened to one of Perry's talks. He said that he wouldn't normally choose to dress quite so extravagantly when cross-dressing, but it helped him gain a lot more recognition in the art world - if you look like a life-sized doll, people are a lot more likely to take notice of you!
Interesting,. ... As someone who actually did possess a "Box of Frog"s, I can imply that there is no madness attached to them rather more that there existence comes from situational change or immediate containment necessity,. and as such if relayed to the work of this artist is is simply a natural response to social events, obviously exceptionally well expressed ,but essentially just a natural reaction to social events..
id love to have a sit down and talk with him. i still cant understand the whole thing about how he dresses like that sometimes. i absolutely love the tapestrys he makes.
Have you noticed that all the well known artists are actually not that good at drawing art, but they are very good at drawing attentions to themselves. So, to make the "big time" it helps if you can talk the hind leg off a donkey and sell sand to the arabs. Give yourself a new name that sticks in the public's mind. Another big plus is to be a drug addict or a drunk. Being gay is fine, that's another plus. That then brings us to the actual art itself. How many art works have left you feeling better for seeing it ? How many have really impressed you, and you've said to yourself. That's really clever. It's taken skill to produce that tapestry, or that pot, or that painting ? It's worth noting that this bloke, in a woman's dress didn't make the tapestry. He just produced the design and another person produced the actual tapestry. I bet the bloke who wove the tapestry is never named and certainly didn't make as much money as the bloke in the dress did In closing I'm wondering what has happened to real men in the UK. Has the government put something in the water, or the food that reduces testosterone and turns it into estrogen ? There's definitely something going on
lovely to hear such a genuine sincere person talking about his craft. Inspiring to me. Thank you Grayson.
he is so eloquent that i totally forget about how he looks

9:25 "kinda like my god" he says. Paused here shows both images. Kinda says it all
he's actually intelligent in Contemporary art and not cynical like most of the other so called artists who are promoted by UBS bank and al the rest.

What is in the water in Britain? It is like a ship of fools who can't see the world is laughing at them.

I like his paintings more than I like his pottery work but to be honest, I don't really think much of his art
