I just got my printer and I absolutely love it. The only problem is that 2 replacement toners are as much as the printer cost. It is cheaper to go get another printer with the starter toner. I won't be able to afford the toner. I know if I try to buy an off-brand on Amazon, it could void my warranty. As much as I love the printer, I'm going to have to return it, it's too expensive to own. I'd have to Ebay a kidney just to get a replacement high-capacity black one.
Did you end up picking another printer?
@@null169 I did. I got the Canon Maxify with the mega tanks for ink. The ink is cheaper and you can print almost 5x as many prints.
I just bought it today after being frustrated with brother inkjet MFC-J4335DW for not having high wuality prints like my old canon did.
Well returned it and buying this one
Don't be fooled with lower price, it has the most expensive ink toners in the market. sometimes double the price of competitors'. I almost fell into its trap.
I have one of those!
8/25/23. I have this printer and my only complaint it was not simple to connect or setup. Took 2 days!! Canon should be ashame of that.. and after getting it going. So far ok.. i am a computer geek.. but this setup was bad..

How can I connect it to fax? Is it a separate driver ?
I agree completely. Except I am no geek! So even worse.
I can not find the manual in Canon's Manuals site. I put in the number and it says "Could not find the product. Enter the product name correctly." There is not even a group starting with MF in their master list. What gives???

How print 2 sides

And once the toner is empty and needs replaced you can just toss the printer in the trash and buy a new one. It will be cheaper than buying the toner by about $50. Somehow printer companies get to call themselves green although they cause a lot e-waste by marking up ink and toner by 5000% making it cheaper to toss a perfectly good device as opposed to just replacing the ink or toner. So much for sustainability and waste reduction.
Well, it is one of the cheaper printers per page.
Thats crazy, I csnt believe there is a cheaper/better alternative. Had I known, I would have gone a different route.
What about 3rd party toner cartridges?
@@howardklopak628 Even they have a very large markup, but yes. Some of them are cheaper than buying a new printer. Although the cheap ones don't seem to last as long.
