Chia seeds Flax seeds healthy fats instead of process oils...our family is Vegan 🌱 no 👎 animal foods no dairy We drink half of total weight...great video great information.....our family does not take any prescription drugs...may all have a happy 😃 and healthy day
I'm 69 and have been vegan for almost 25 years and was a vegetarian 20 years before that. Eating this way is what feels best for my body. However, everybody's body has its own unique requirements. Eating is definitely not one-size-fits-all. I have a few friends who would love to be able to eat fresh fruits and vegetables but unfortunately their body cannot tolerate it. One way of eating isn't any better than another, it's just different.
Me personally, I started losing the most weight after reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, a few things you are mentioning in this video are also in the book
I drink warm Lemon, Ginger, Honey water every morning instead of coffee, with a turmeric, ginger and black pepper supplement. Also Walk as much as possible daily.
I'm a coffeeholic, need that fix first thing in the morning then throughout the mid afternoon. I drink it black for years now try to be healthy mixing ghee, chia seed and moringa power in it. I must say the moringa taste like raw medicine, maybe that should be consumed with something else.
Eating healthy and nutritious food is important especially for people our age as we're prone to more serious medical conditions, and this affects how we are on a day to day basis. We really appreciate this tips as it is really necessary to consult your healthcare provider when you are experiencing serious medical conditions and since there really isn't any concrete formula for a diet for everyone but being knowledgable about the kinds of food that are great for your body is critical as well in figuring out which healthy diet is best for you. We'd like to thank Reviving Mind's Health and Wellness coaches for helping us out with staying healthy and helping us live life better.
No one mentions the cost of fresh vegetables and fruit when most seniors are on a very tight budget. It makes me angry when people act as if people have a variety of healthy options to purchase, prepare, and eat. They DO have options; however, they cannot afford them.😥
Frozen has proven to be just as good, if not better from being flash frozen after harvest. Whereas fresh has often been sitting on trucks and and warehouses and have started to degrade. Dollar Tree, Aldi, Walmart, often have frozen under 1.25 and even under 1.00
Not necessarily. If you follow the EWG (environmental watch group) list of the Dirty Dozen, those are the foods best eaten organic because of the tremendous use of pesticides on them. Also if you eat from the fruit and veggies section of your grocery store and NOT the processed middle section of your grocery store, it is NOT expensive. I am a senior and eating food made by God is NOT expensive and much healthier.
After saving for 3 years, we were able to purchase a freeze dryer last Fall. One of the first food groups we freeze dried was fruits. I snack on freeze dried apple slices, or FD blueberries in my cereal, and love freeze dried strawberries as a delicious quick snack. FD Bananas are yummy, too. My understanding is freeze drying retains a lot of nutrients. It's so much easier to open the jar of freeze dried fruits for snacks, and if kept sealed when not in use, they last a very long time. Still miss PopTarts and M&M's (haha), but I've lost eight pounds this month - and have also been working through Silver Sneakers exercise videos. Hitting 70 this year and doing my best not to petrify or become a blob.
@@kimchee94112 In moderation, it's do-able. I look at the 1/3 less sugars and carbs in 4 freeze dried apple slices versus a fruit pop tart. Husband is pre-diabetic (and sugar-aholic) so these help cravings for cookies and sweets. It wouldn't work for brittle diabetes, but we're just finding what CAN work for us. So sorry for your low sugar tolerance :-(
Great ideas! I love kale and have it streamed and we take a handful cold of it and put in oatmeal for breakfast and right on our plates for other meals. We love fresh salads made of spinach, red lettuce and red and orange and yellow peppers. Carrots, radishes and onions. We switch it up by changing the greens for next salad. Thanks
Get rid of processed junk food. Anything beyond that is personal based on what works for your individual body. The one and only thing ALL doctors agree on is to eliminate factory foods. Just doing that will add years and vitality to your life.

@@doubles1545 Farmers use grains to fatten their animals, but yet humans are supposed to have multiple servings per day and be healthy?? Does that make sense
Might I add that growing a few of these vegetables in as a potted plant helps sway the cost. I use mostly frozen vegetables as they don’t have the additives as canned vegetables have. White rice and pinto beans made at home. If canning 1/2 cup dry beans to a pint jar and fill the rest with water. Good luck friends. We aren’t as stupid as our kids think we are. 😂
Another great suggestion- become friends with your blender. Kale or spinach smoothies enable you to eat more veggies that taste great. Olive oil is a very healthy oil to also include in your diet- happy healthy YOU!!
Any oil is process lots of fat one table spoon contains 120 calories....going to to your arteries and clogging your system.....better eat the olive that contains the fiber. All oils are one of the causes for narrowing your blood circulation ....along with all animals foods ....all dairy 🥛 and process foods that also contain more oils....
I've been on the carnivore diet for six weeks now. All of my painter gone away.. I will have my blood checked next week to see if everything looks good.
I was on a kick to lose weight was I did many great changes, but raw vegetables were giving me extreme abdominal pain, difficulty digesting and severe diarrhea. I need to cook my vegetables. I suspect I have irritable bowel syndrome. Too bad for me.
Is there something else besides black pepper that can help my body absorb nutrients better! I have lichen Plantus and can’t tolerate that and hot spices or foods.
We need 120 grams of protein each day; like she said, it’s the main important ingredient in our diets! Plants don’t give the BCAA branch change n amino acids our bodies need.
Andi do you donate to your local food banks so the seniors citizens on tight budget such as of food stamps , can afford to buy these so called healthy food options you recommended? You do know seniors are on fixed low SSI / retirement incomes right?
You can also buy fresh and frozen produce. Frozen may have higher levels of vitamin C but other than that they have similar nutritional profiles. You could also plant a food forest or small backyard garden.
I have eaten natural UNPROCESSED foods all my life. That's probably why, at the age of 74, I have no health issues at all. I have no health insurance and don't give a flip about that. In the summertime I turn several cartwheels with my grandchildren on the back lawn and then jump into the pool and race them to the other end of it. I always win, but they tell me this summer they are going to beat me... we'll see. Live is a joy when you take care of yourself and eat right. With no health issues, it's a much better life.
Nobody talks about how expensive it is to eat healthy if you notice all the junk food and the foods we shouldn’t be eating are so much less expensive than the healthy things. And another thing with fruit and vegetables how do you keep them long enough that they don’t go bad before a person can eat them
I live close to a market and literally shop daily for my fresh foods, bring them home and cook them. This is optimal, but most fruits and vegetables will keep at least 3-4 days so you could just shop twice a week and be fine.
What if your eating habits improved but something ion your body is thwarting all the effort? Your hormones. Leaky gut. Insulin resistance. And eating meat isn't bad as long as the quality is good. And eating greens every day may not be good if you are taking blood thinners.
@@silversneakers Physicians know ZERO regarding nutrition! Or they usually refuse to address it. But they are good for giving out prescriptions of drugs! I have to laugh when you suggest talking to your healthcare provider! They get ONE whole course on nutrition in Med school. I’ wish you were not advocating including pork, beef, chicken and salmon in seniors’ diet. We gave up all animal-derived foods 4 1/2 years ago with only occasional seafood as a treat a few times a year (we live in a beach community). I’m 76, my blood pressure and cholesterol are low, my weight is normal for my age and gender, and I exercise every day. And I’m still working part time. NO ONE should be ingesting animal-derived foods. I would suggest you read The China Study by T. Colin Campbell as a start. Also Dr. Michael Greger, both of whom are giants in the plant-based world.
As humans have a very high degree of nutrigenomic variability, the diet that you personally thrive on could easily be a total disaster for somebody else. Ideology is a very poor substitute for biology.

Just be aware that vitamin supplements are toxic when taken too often. I don’t know if you take them, but if you do, be careful.

Yup, I think fresh fruit and veg etc should be subsidised or people who are most at risk should be given support.

Roll up a few leaves of kale at a time, slice it thinly. Then massage. Really takes the toughness out of it.
