      If I remember correctly, it was within a few hours. The holidays may have them lagging and behind a little bit. I did it right before Thanksgiving and I remember someone making the comment that it could take a little longer. I would 100% wait to have tunes loaded onto the EZ Lynk and loaded into the truck before you start removing any parts. That is just my recommendation, I would also make sure to drive it a bit to make sure nothing funky is going on with the tuning

    Do you just purchase the ez LYNK , or do you pay a subscription as well? And could you use a single unit for multiple vehicles?

    • @NRCThings
      @NRCThings  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey man, thanks for the comment! Make sure to like and sub to the channel! You purchase the EZ Lynk, yes. Although - you have to purchase the tunes through different tuning companies. Whether that company is Proven, AMPD, GDP, whoever. Once you purchase tunes through them and tell them you are tuning through EZ Lynk everything is linked through your VIN. Once you plug the EZ Lynk into the vehicle it automatically recognizes what tunes are made for that truck. You can plug and unplug into multiple vehicles and since it is all tracked through the VIN, each will pull up their respective tunes. The EZ Lynk also doesn’t have to stay in the vehicle. You can tune it and then remove the device. Hope that explains it!

      @@AxxcessDeclined69 being that I have had mine deleted for a good while I have had the chance to experiment with different tunes. I initially tried SOTF but caught myself constantly messing with the knob so I reverted back to a single tune and the truck likes it better. About four months ago I threw the truck onto a 200HP LBF tune and the fuel mileage got pretty bad. I switched back to a regular 120HP single tune (not LBF, not QR, not Hiss) and the truck loves it and gets about 17MPG on the highway. If you like the hiss tune idle, I think the tune once driving is the same as the non-hiss just turbo vanes are adjusted at idle everything else should be identical. I would recommend at least trying to go to a single smaller tune, unplugging the SOTF switch, plugging your sensor back in, and seeing how the truck acts. Majority of the people I have talked to have said they enjoy single tunes more than SOTF and so does the truck. Also - I saw that you subbed to the channel, thanks man!

      1. You can do both. I opted to remove mine, but be cautious as there are two bolts that are very prone to breaking off in the manifold. If you just unplug the EGR that will suffice, I know many of people that have done it this way.
      2. I did not order it online, found a local shop that had some in stock. There are a few websites you can find. All 5” exhaust and all 4” exhaust will be almost identical. If you want an easy way out, they sell a “4” delete pipe” that just replaces the DPF.

    • @NRCThings
      @NRCThings  ปีที่แล้ว

      Martin, thanks for the comment! When I first installed everything, I ran the SOTF switch. I found that I was messing with the truck too much while driving and decided to run a single tune so the truck wasn't constantly adjusting. I also found that the truck runs better on single tunes, in my opinion. I am currently running the hiss 120 tune, and have found the truck to like it as well. It feels like it has more power and is getting better fuel mileage over the LBF 120 tune I had previously. Everytime I tow, I tow with the tune that I am running daily. I would not recommend towing with anything larger than a 120, due to high EGTs.
      Monitor EGTs and let the truck tell you what it likes best, every truck will react a little different so it really is an experiment to find what the best combo is. Hopefully my comment will give you a starting point and some insight.

      @@martinsteflik1329 I have tried a few different trans tunes. I liked the older “medium” shift tunes that they had out, because it seems like the one I am currently running shifts a little hard when you are higher into the RPM range and in the power band. I am not sure if that is stock valve body issues or if that is just how high they are making the line pressures. Valve bodies are the weak point in these transmissions and are often replaced. I may be doing mine soon. Although, I can say that the trans tune I am currently running is probably the most mild. When driving regular or pulling, I have zero complaints. It’s when i’m really getting on it and it shifts 5-6 is when it hits hard
