They seem to have made a lot of design changes, but hardly any actual graphical improvements. They just made the art style resemble Arkham Knight a bit more (loots of cyan, increased sharpness on some textures, more reflections probably to resemble wetness, etc). Yeah PC still has the edge.
@@hareeshkota8431 remaining on PS4 are low Rez garbage, low lights, medium texture and low framerate. I play on both pc and PS4. PS4 looks like Atari compared to PC

I think its the fog removal and the cololrs being redone and their refusal to use AA for some reason for the jagged edges. Plus the sudden increase in light sources just make everything messed up
To conclude PC still looks better, because the dark tone that the version has really fits the atmosphere of the game. Meanwhile the remastered one looks too bright and it's missing some shadows in certain places and sure some effects look better on the PS4 one, like the fire inside the joker's mill at 1:30 and the church's Bell tower explosion at 2:16.
So... One version looks better in some places, the other looks better someplace else. Overall, I don't like the new art they did for the Remaster. The character models look so ugly now and all the dark mood that came from the expert lighting in the original is thrown out the door in the Remaster. More realistic lighting does not mean better lighting. Just look at some of the cutscenes. The lighting ruins them in the Remaster. Also, PC has PhysX, resolutions past 1080p, and 60fps (makes a big difference!).

I noticed that the parallax maps/bitmapping/ or tessellation on the rocks have been removed from the ps4 version. Not totally sure what the technique was used in the original, but the rocks on the ground in the original game had actual depth to them like at 3:08 but are just flat on the remaster.
The PC version of Arkham City had Tessellation as an Nvidia PhysX feature, so it's not surprising it's missing in the remaster. Maybe if they'd stuck with the original visuals instead of porting to UE4 and messing with the look so much they could have gotten the PhysX stuff running on console, I always thought the paper physics in the PC version was fun.

I don't know if it is on old consoles or on next gen consoles, but look at this carpet on PC version while Catwoman stands on it 😍 It moves so real, and I like this kind of details 🥴
Ps4 remaster definitely looks a bit nicer with its shaders, such as fire, neon and water, but the lighting seems a lot flatter in the remaster, and character models have lost their depth, especially in the skin textures. The moody feel of the original is also lost, now it looks more like arkham knight, which doesn't match the almost low tech, dark and cold experience that Arkham City offers. Looks a little prettier, but has lost its atmosphere and some lighting contrast.
Looks amazing. Much better lighting, draw distance and more detailed textures. All those dark and washed out colors from the original were there to hide those lowrez textures. UE4 sure does have more bells and whistles however some of the colors chosen are a bit too bright. Love the remaster cape. Looks great. Overall a good effort too bad it was not at 60fps. The extra snow & physx detail do make the remaster look a bit more jampacked with background stuff than can get distracting.
I think the remastered version looks better, although the atmosphere is gone from the old game, it still looks a lot better, lighting and texture wise. I think people are saying the lighting looked better in the old game because they used way too intense lighting to hide low resolution textures. I think they have fixed that and now people are complaining about it. I mean this always happens with remastered games. It is worth it if you ask me, even if you have the older games. The first impression is the PS4 version much brighter and have more vivid colors. But certain lights are better. Also certain surface reflections added. Seems Catwoman suit replaced with AK version, or a really high-res version of the original. Still, PC version has 60 fps and PhysX.
Honestly the batman in the remastered version looks better compare to PC is more dark-ish IMO, overall graphics the remastered has some part better than the pc not entirely, but i still prefer the PC version. Edit. Everything looks shinier and brighter, and less foggy in the remastered version, not a big difference.
The PS4 Lighting is def fucked but the textures and the game looks way better than PC. The only problem i have with remasters is that now it feels like devs don't have to try anymore and that they can release a game from 5 years ago with better graphics and get praise from a ton of people for it. This is a dangerous proposition that means the devs can just release old games and still get money rather than make original games. So for me, i would just get the old PC version and get a mod so it maybe looks like PS4 with lighting fixes.
I mean like the PS4 remastered version looks good but it's laggy. While the original one looks normal ( okay ) but it's quick and not laggy. The remastered should update the framework to make it quicker and smoother, and I think they should re-update the remastered version
Coming from the maxed PC version the new textures are great. Motion blur would have helped a lot for these games though. Not to mention better AA. Virtuous are morons but I am having fun playing through Arkham City again.
really mixed bag here for me cause some of the effects and textures look better on PS4 but you cant beat the consistency of frames and it still looks amazing on PC.
Idk why, even tho some lighting and textures on the ps4 version of indoors have improved the pc version resembles the eerie environment of Arkham much better. The PC version feels like 'fuck, Arkham is really scary' but when i switch to ps4, it's like 'ehhh, nice graphics improvement tho'
This right here is the proof that performance will always be more important than graphics and PC is the best platform to get it. Period. The remaster looks pretty on consoles but it performs terrible, and the original PC version still looks amazing while having a smooth performance. Now, this is a console remastwer, the only time when consoles may look better than PC, but in every game out there even a mid range PC will look and perform better than consoles. I'm glad we have the option for games like this but console exclusives kill awesome games with poor peformance. If only Uncharted 4 was playable on PC.
Crazy, there is really a lot of hate for pc players here, but only thing. All the Arkham series has been remastered on console and not touched the pc at all, So we need someone to have ago of modding the graphics and show them our Arkham remaster on pc

PS4 version looks better than the older version running on PC. But the PC does look a lot smoother and that stands out a lot.
Original Arkham Asylum is superior if only because of what they did to Batman’s face 😂
I mean like the PS4 remastered version looks good but it's laggy. While the original one looks normal ( okay ) but it's quick and not laggy. The remastered should update the framework to make it quicker and smoother, and I think they should re-update the remastered version
hey, i want ur intro music. it's little bit catchy :3
something tells me consoles will be beta testers of Red Dead Redemption 2...
I like both not gonna say which is better because they are meant to be different with higher standards on both sides
Just wanna highlight saying a game runs 4k at 120fps is different to saying YOU can run said game at 4k 120fps
even if the graphics are different it is still fun to play
both looks amazing
0:39 Kiss Of Death
The backgrounds look much better in the remaster, but they screwed up the characters, they look so bad in the remaster.
Crazy, there is really a lot of hate for pc players here, but only thing. All the Arkham series has been remastered on console and not touched the pc at all, So we need someone to have ago of modding the graphics and show them our Arkham remaster on pc
It's hard to say which one is better...
looks more like a mod then a remaster with all the artistic and lighting changes.
