Why don't we hear from him on the radio once in awhile? Dude, I am from LA. Not a country music stronghold. But there was one station... he was on it. Heard him in 1982 when I was in middle school. Sounded great. I could understand all the lyrics. He played the Cowboy Club on Lankershim. He is overdue for the Hall of Fame. He could easily compete with any of the newer artists. Not better, but different and just as good. He sang about relationships and people's feelings. I like that. It feels personal like we are talking at a bar.
I just found out Earl Thomas Conley kicked the bucket, and it's a damn shame. I literally just got into his music today. I read about his death, and I thought to my self, "Fuck it, I'm gonna see what this guy's music is all about.", so I decided to check out his music on TH-cam. This is some of the best music I've ever heard. Who gives a fuck about labels, Country Music, Heavy Metal, or Rock & Roll, great music is great music, and that's what stands the test of time. I'm glad that I've been turned on to Earl Thomas Conley's music. I know the circumstances for discovering his music aren't the greatest, but I can truly say I am now a fan of E.T.C's music. Let's crank it up and drink a few cold ones! R.I.P Earl and thanks for taking us along for the ride!
You've got it right my friend it's about the music if it's good it's good no matter what genre if it's good it's good I listen to everything from Frank Zappa to Frank Sinatra to Buck Owens Hank Snow to New Age and light jazz if it's good it's good
He's awesome! I used 2play music 🎶 & that was 1of my top songs 2perform each night & most requested 4a very long time. Still sing & play it 2day! Ty Earl 4a great 🎵 song!
This guy was true badass. His style and he was on point with everything. Lots of country singers of today try to edgy it never works for them. It came naturally to ETC.
He looked so happy here enjoying what he he did. I really liked his music growing up in the 80's and I got to see him play all his hits live in my little hometown bar in 2003 he looked the same and was so sweet. I stood right in front of him playing is guitar and he smiled so big for me to take his picture with those disposable cameras he was 63 at the time.
Why is country music from the 80's so forgotten. But you still hear country from the 90's still played. I like this sound of country music better than 90's county. I wasn't big on the cowboy hat boots and the annoying sound of the fiddle that dominated country music of the 90's. Today's country music has the same beats and all the songs sounds the same. Even the voices and the way they sing I can't tell them apart.
Modern Country for the most part has devolved into pop music with a fiddle or maybe the occasional dobro or mandolin. It is almost indistinguishable from any other pop music i can think of.The artists today are a dime a dozen.Nashville seems to crank out some new faceless hot blonde singer every few months.Country music long ago forgot it's roots in spite of the more traditional country artists who try in vain to remind them.I agree with you 100%.There would be no place in today's "country" music for an Earl Thomas Conley.Thank God we had him when we did.
I have a dear friend we used to dance to this song at the nightclub we never missed a beat we both love all his music all the songs are great the lyrics have meaning
Seen Earl Thomas Conley last time live when he did a concert here in Roswell NM. Also one late night while traveling across Arizona got to talk to his tour bus driver on my CB Radio while Earl was sleeping. He was for sure one of the best for many years. RIP and Thank you and your band.
I love Earl Thomas Conley he is awesome and sexy and handsome YEAH and a great DANCER he knows how to make his FANS HAPPY I wish he was still here with us but I will always listen to his music and all of his songs all of the time he is the best along with Chris Young AMEN
Love this song man was a class act never listen to a song that i didn't like sending prayers and blessings to earls family friends and band mate's there is a link death cannot sever.love and remembrance last forever god bless you all thank you for posting ❤
@MarcosBryant-gk1jv he had so many that I really like . But I think maybe holding her and loving you, and don't make it easy for me is the two that stand out
No one can even come close to etc loved him and his music saw him at pleasure island music fest pt arthur tx along with sammy kershaw the ragin cajun it was an unforgetable event and gary lee love announced tracy byrd had signed a recording contract that day along with clay walker tracys wife was standing about 4 feet in front on me and my daughter and the rest is histroy
Earl Thomas Conley never got the recognition he deserved. One of the greatest country singers of all time.
I agree. I never understood why he didn’t take off. He made others popular instead.
Him, Keith Whitley and Steve Wariner are my three favs. Nobody will ever sing like them three again. Ever.
@@MidnightVentures oh man I agree. Steve Wariner is unreal. Keith too. I miss them all so bad it’s unreal.
I agree
Don't forget Eddie Rabbitt
He made it look effortless. He , Kieth Whitley , Waylon ,Allan Jackson , Don Williams ,Vern Gosdin& Conway the greatest country voices ever
George Strait, Conway Twitty

One underrated country star. I feel he never got the recognition he deserved. Gone way before his time too?!
I wish I could go back to that era. Very under rated. R.I.P. ETC.
