One of my all time favorite JW periods '91 to '92! His phrasing is out of this world crazy good and his vast vocabulary of licks are off the freakin' charts!
The Name of the Intro Jam is "Hideaway". He ocasionally played a different one that sounds quite similar (bit isn't) called "Succotash" (e.g. Helsinki 1986).

saw him in a small bar in Minneapolis in 92. Those Alligator Records releases he did were good stuff.

the intro is badass,Johnny is warming up his fingers.Incredible rhytm section of Jeff Ganz on bass and Tom Compton on drums.
Great trio...but I've always been a Jon Paris fan! (Most people don't know...Compton used to play with Ten Years After!) Check out their RX5 album.

yes, he is so loose on the slide, but still so accurate . And he can play slide without looking at it ... he must have had an amazing ear.
