Who is still listening and enjoying this video today? Two brilliant musicians, checking their egos at the door, and just jamming sweet music. Doesn't get better than this. Sadly today, TH-cam and TikTok has sadly replaced this experience.

I knew Johnny and Edgar when I was a teenage girl. I was fascinated by them, I thought they were frost giants. It made John laugh..He was such a sweet guy. I miss him, but Edgar is still with us. I loved them both, they were just so special...

I met Johnny in the eighties, I was about 11-12 years old. My dad used to go down to a bar/grill on the lake. Townes van zany, Blaze floret, Calvin Russell, they would all sit around and jam. Nobody was there. I guess it was their hideaway. That’s when I first heard the blues, and have been in love with it ever since. Being young, I had no idea that I was sitting in on legends. But Johnny winter was different, he was nothing but rock n roll. After the gig was up I would water ski home

This was recorded on Nov 23, 1983 at CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario Canada for an episode of the legendary "In Session" series. I was fortunate to be the recording engineer for the series. Johnny and Dr. John were great to work with that day. Johnny actually went out for lunch with the crew. Told some great road stories about playing the bars in Texas as a teenager.

I found your posts when looking for music to practice and am a intermediate Blues player. I have lived in both Texas and Louisiana and soaked up as much as I could. You can’t go to either state without immersing yourself in both of these performers and their music. They were The Elite. Hey Paul, I did the same as you by taking the train from Flushing every weekend to get to The Fillmore East & see what new group was playing. I started going there in 1967 thru 1970. The first concert I ever went to was The Beatles at Shea Stadium c.1965 and the it was the Fillmore. I saw Johnny in 1967 at Hofstra University Sheba he brought his brother, Edgar up to join him. One of my favorite collaborations was Johnny & Rick Derringer...Wow. Two dueling blues rock guitarists going at it which was truly amazing. At 70, I look at the shit that is being played today and thank God I got to see just about every band, group & musician from the mid 60’s on. I wen to Woodstock also and that was another great experience in my life along with seeing Jimi play more than 2 dozen times up until 2 weeks before he died. (Randall’s Island, 8/70). Rock on, brother...

Legends never to be seen again but they left us this pure magic from the deep deep soul, it brought tears to my eyes. I have seen both of them . Saw Johnny Winter in Graham Central station in Arizona and he signed my Gibson Firebird. He as always put on an amazing concert. RIP both of you your music will never die.

Lucky to have seen Johnny several times but last time here in N Calif 2012. He was pretty sick but his hands still moved like lightning. 600 person club played for about 1.5 hrs and needless to say......The Man. 🎸🎸

Saw JW, I think, at Clapton's 2010 'Crossroads' concert. He looked to be very weakened and almost blind, but, Man, he had zero trouble still standing-out on that crowded stage. One-of-a-kind
