All those are pricey items. I will get there, Funny I say pricey, I bought an arrow exhaust and decat but because it took 2 months to get it I ended up getting the BW instead. The arrow is now a broken arrow still in the boxes brand new.

The 1290 to me, for 20k +, is just overkill...My 890R just rips, everywhere. And it wont scare the livin' shit outta me like the 1290. It sounds beautiful. I have one installed on my MT09 and published a few videos too. I wished you could do one without baffle? How loud is it with and without the baffles?
Not a bad idea :). No baffles would mean that they will turn into a true race exhaust with stereo sound. The neighborhood would be the one baffled for sure 😁.
Ok, So between your comment and now (15hrs later) I sold the bike. Exhaust and all. I will be making a short vid without the baffles before I take it in tomorrow.
Hello Mark, Decatting the 890 was just part of the choices I had to make when determining costs for additions to the bike and choosing the exhaust I wanted to use and install. For instance, I couldnt justify adding the track pack to the bike because I truly would not use the features. Instead I used the money and bought this exhaust. This exhaust allowed me to keep the factory ecu map as long as I kept the baffles installed. The exhaust is also only made for racing so decatting the bike and keeping the baffles was truly the best way to get more HP. Just a quick note that keeping or removing the baffles will not change the sound at idle but it will affect how lean the mixture gets at higher RPMs, The bike was definetly a winner, didnt pop on deceleration using 93 octane gas and idle was very smooth. Keeping the cat will restrict the gases exiting the motor and create a bottleneck on this expensive bike. Hope this information answered your question. Thnak you and careful riding.
Good! QUESTION- How LOUD are these cans? We can hear the TONE on the TH-cam clip, but how about the DECIBEL level? If you start it up in the early morning, are you worried about your neighbors?
The 890 sounds pretty amazing as it is. Just don't rev it up or you will be heard coming down the road. These are not as loud as an SC racing exhaust just for comparison sake. They have a race feel to them which is what I liked about them. My neighbors didn't mind plus I kept this horse under control while riding to the interstate. GP sound for sure, baffles in.
It is definitely a major improvement from the original silencer. In fact, without question this the exhaust system I would get for this bike. I wonder if there is a tail tidy that would bring the license plate and lights closer to the back of seat which would get the lights up and away from the exhaust.
Did the idle on the bike messed up after you installed those? I have a 2022, and I installed this same dual exhaust, and the idle goes crazy when removing the db killers.
BW said removing the DBKs would require a remap or tuner, I emailed them before installing mine. The KTM ecu, cannot compensate for the fuel mixture. I always had mine on or the bike would run even hotter (leaner). I would put the DBK back a do an ecu reset. Typically waiting 15min after a coldstart should do the trick. Just start and let it idle for 15min.

I have that exact same exhaust but I have the carbon fiber version. At higher revs they sound pretty awesome. Let me tell you that you do not want to run the Akra map from the dealer with this exhaust. You love the exhaust not, install that map and you will hate the exhaust sound. The increased RPM from the map made me hate the exhaust. I removed the akra map after a week because of how bad it made the exhaust sound at idle or when sitting at a stop light.

I tend to enjoy it more, Since a couple of hours is a good warm up time to go faster and pass everyone on the highway. It sounds great at 50/ 70 and doesn't cause noise fatigue at least for me. 75 / 85 is better.

Not according to Black Widow as long as the baffles stay installed. I think that the sound is very nice and tolerable with them on. I'm doing first service in a few weeks and the service dept claims I may benefit with a tune . They also said that on a first cold start just leaving the bike idle for 15min will cause the Bikes ECU to self tune somewhat. Right now. My setup is on Sport and I have done the 15min smart self tune routine and the bike is certainly more peppy and quick. I will ask the dealer for a before and after tune and post it here when I get it.
No remap, The bike is running perfectly right now. BW recommended a remap if I remove the baffles. I am considering that, but at the moment I would like to preserve my hearing intact. :)

Yes 230s, You could see them mounted on a bike on their website picture showing the part.

Didn't get a chance to replace it. I still have the tail tidy in the box.
I am going to take my black widow dual setup off. I love the sound but it is just too loud and starting to wear on me for longer rides

No remap or Power Commander. All stock. Just leave baffles on.
