Wheelies for days!!!
🫡
cruiser boy here got to test ride a duke 790. Thing had me pulling off from a stop in 3rd gear. Guess this is the reason why
Very nice! 👍💨
I have a duke 125 I hope to buy an 890 in the future
Nice! You won’t be disappointed 🙏
Hi, i have seen all your videos in that duke and they’re absolutely amazing, you rock dude!!!
I have the same bike but in order to do wheelies i need to pull the clutch in second gear, however in 3rd it doesn’t work for me, even on track mode. How do you do to do wheelies on 3rd gear !!!without pull the clutch!!!! ??? it’s unbelievable. Keep rocking dude!!!
Thanks man! Glad you liked ‘em! Yeah I usually clutch on 3rd but if it works best for you in 2nd, just go for it! ✊💨
bomb!
🤙
what's your suspension settings? Mine doesn't wheelie that good
@@babyyoda4104 suspension is set to sport from the manual with original springs 👍
I am surprised it went up on 3rd gear w/o clutch :)
It’s only able to do so while I’m standing 👍 otherwise I’m always using the clutch on 3rd 😊
Hi. Great video thanks for making it. I read lots of comments in this video and tried your settings, track / super moto / wheelie off / tc=5. And bike behaves likes yours for wheelies. I also tested in Sport mode (where anti wheelie is always on as you know) and you can wheelie with an aggressive clutch up, it must override the system with a fast and big front wheel up movement. I tested the bike with stock exhaust and a system system like yours and it wheelies in all exhaust configurations no problems. Wanted to ask do you think the supermoto setting has any effect on wheelie or do you use that just so you can lock the rear wheel for other stuff? Just bought a 2023 model and have 350km on it so far. What a fantastic machine! Regards.
Hi! Thanks for the comment! Actually I only use supermoto to be able to lock the rear wheel if I want to, I’ve always ridden bikes without ABS systems and I don’t like when they kick in to help. Other than that I don’t see any difference in wheelies etc without without supermoto on!
Enjoy your bike and ride safe 👍🏁
Thanks, you too. Best.
Wheelie at 190kmph 😮
🫡
Hey brother, nice ride i buyed a ktm 890r but i try to wheelie and the tc keeps stoping me to keep the wheel up i have the bike in track mode and the anti wheelie off but i dont know how to disable tc can u help? Thank you 💪🙏
@@didizx10r55 thanks mate! As long anti wheelie is off you should be able to pop a wheelie, don’t know really if it still doesn’t work..?
👍🏻
wheelie2 good job
Thanks 🙏
0:36 No hate, just asking. I'm new (I got a 390 Duke and I've only been riding for a year) and I would like to ask you if doing the sign of the cross while touching your Soap (I mean the knee slider) was something personal or a way of blessing the ride hoping for the best as you go through the corners?
Hehe no worries man! There are actually more people that have asked me this and the answer will probably disappoint you 😂 the racing suit I’m wearing is a really torn and scraped one from when I ride at the track, so I’m just moving the kneepad a little bit. The one that looks like a cross is me just putting down the visor, I see why people wonder because it really looks like it and it’s hard to see from this angle but there’s actually not more to it than that 😂👍 ride safe and keep ripping that 390! Lovely bike 🙏
@@s.aracing5431 Oh ok nice 😂. Keep up the good work 💪
@@danieleterribile717 thanks mate 👍🏁
great video, it definitely power wheelies in 3rd @5k? I have to try.. is this standard map with decat? Thanks!
Thanks! It power wheelies in 3rd if I’m standing, otherwise I’m using the clutch 👍 Yes all standard but with decat and carbon shorty 👍
@@s.aracing5431
Thanks for answering! Do you have any advice to learn to wheelie safely? I see you have a good deal of experience also on the track. We have some wheelie schools here in the UK so I was thinking maybe to do a day there..
have the same bike btw, I power wheelied involuntarily a couple times accelerating in 2nd and that's it.. :)
@@shmod97 no worries! There are a few ways I think is pretty decent for a beginner. Let’s say you ride your bike in like 30mph/50kmh in second gear, start off with holding the gas steady and just press the clutch in fast and then release it. The bike will gain revs but since you’re not accelerating with the throttle, the bike will increase the revs pretty slow. If you think that the impact will to high to start of with, try in 3rd gear and a little more speed. Ideally where your powerband feels best for you. Do this until you get your front wheel up and just repeat. When you’re comfortable with this you can start to add more revs before letting the clutch out. If you want even more try to accelerate a bit while using the clutch and release it in different speeds. In my opinion this is a safe way to start it but it takes time. I did this for 1 years before getting any height of my wheelies. It sucks to crash a bike so slow and easy is my tip! Hope this helps and good luck! 👍
@@s.aracing5431 Thank you for your advice, I'll defintely try with the clutch in 3rd to see what happens, maybe when the roads are not so wet..:P
@@shmod97 hehe yes preferably 😂👍
Sweet wheelies, dude. Stock sprockets?
Thanks mate! Yes, stock sprockets and gearing :)
Grooooovt😍😍😍🤙🏽🤙🏽
🙏🤩
Amazing😮

With de cat ?respect bro 🤙🏼
@@vincenzogiordano3491 yes the bike is running a short Carbon pipe with decat 👍
Nice 👌🏼
Did you lose the plate?- I love kTm😁
Hehe yes I did… 😂
Nice

Could u maybe explain ur settings and how u do it. Cause i give a lot og throttle on my 890 duke in 2 gear But i does not wanna come up. Kinda weird cause i felt mt07 with 50hp less came up easy in 2 gear
I drive in track, with anti wheelie off and slip is on 4-5 i think. Mtc snd abs on
So from what you stated our setting are the same except that my abs is set to “Supermoto”. I’m using a little help from my suspension before starting my wheelie or doing wheelies out of turns. However if I’m sitting and just go full power in second gear the front will fly up like crazy..! Have you done anything to your bike or gearing that might be the cause? Because from what I’ve experienced riding this bike for like 2 years, wheelies in 1st/2nd/3rd is no problem at all!? Have you tried clutch up in 2nd aswell?
@@s.aracing5431 havent tried clutching up no. But the dealer did install rapid bike racing on my bike. I Wonder ig that fucks up my low end torque maybe. I drive in track, with anti wheelie off, launch control off, snd slip om 4. snd i literally have to be on like 6000rpm and max out throttle for it to even come up a little bit. That’s in 1 and 2 gear. In third gear no chance at all even when am standing. But I read that u have to make slip 1 and turn off mtc aswell? Do u turn off mtc and abs?
@@jurekbrysik1743 I would assume that the rapid bike box is the main issue here and that it got more top end power and reduced torque. I’m riding with MTC on and have tried with it “off” aswell with nothing happening regarding wheelies. I would assume that the rapid bike box is mapped and have reduced torque. Why, is another question.
@@s.aracing5431 yup, gotta be. I just tried with every possible setting off and everything in track. I tried power wheelie at every single different rpm in second gear. I gave full throttle and it would get up. Like literally full throttle with the wrist snap. At 6000k rpm, 7000k rpm, 5000k and 4000k. In first gear it hardly come up but it second gear no chance. Even if I stand up and kinda lean back with full throttle and everything off. It just accelerates real fucking fast
Fin kjøring! Hvilken gass respons kjører du, track eller sport? :)
Detta är track! Kör i princip alltid i track läge 👍
Sentite ilptpre ...poi non è la risposta .....se sei ciuccio o sport o trak non c'è la fai
I have an 890 r, do you deactivate the wheelie controls? anti-wheelie type
Nice! Yes I have turn the anti-wheelie mode off, it’s pretty much impossible if you don’t 👍
What throttle response do you use ? I can’t wheelie my 890 at all but you make it look easy 🫣
I have all settings set to "track". The most aggressive response. It is however able to wheelie in street mode aswell as sport. Keep practicing and you will get there! :)
@@s.aracing5431 cool thankyou, do you
Dab the back brake just before you come up or just twist and lean back ?
@@Oak-z8w mostly I just power it up, if I’m helping to get it up I’m using the clutch every time 👍 never used rear to bounce it 👍
how do you pull power wheelie in 3rd??? mine will only lift in 2nd
@@henrikwar4941 the ones in 3rd gear are standing wheelies so I use my body to get a little bit of leverage 👍 if I’m sitting I can only do power up in 3rd after a corner or such (help from suspension) 👍
@@s.aracing5431 aa okay, i keep improving my power wheelies, but i dont master it through 2nd yet
@@henrikwar4941 nice! Keep practicing and you’ll get there in no time! 👍
What is your configuration of mode track please ? ?
Track mode, throttle is set on track, supermoto mode, slip set to “5”!
does anyone know Will the ktm 790 radiator work on the 890 R?
@@RetroCarGeorgia I would assume that it does, but I can’t guarantee unfortunately
790 first gen is smaller. 790 2023 yes
@@generalebeta97 I used the 790 radiator on the 890. There is a slight difference in size, but there is no problem. works very well
12-165 In a tenth of a second 😅
😂🤙
Can you do balance point wheelies?
On my old supermoto I could but haven’t trained on this one since I enjoy just riding around with it. With some training I might be able to but at the moment I would say no.
Hello psb-1 ?
@@mattrgv Hi! Not changed, stock one! 🫡
original transmission ?
Yes! Engine and transmission is all stock! 👍
This makes me realize how utterly wasted my 890R is on an old fart like me.
As long you enjoy riding it, that’s all that matters 👍
What pipe on the bike ?
Mivv Carbon short pipe with decat 👍
What throttle response do you use?
Track! The most aggressive one 👍
