This one is hard to fine in the 9 mm a lot of people want to buy them but they’re not available and I really don’t know why You would think if there was a demand for them they would keep making them Because this one has been real reliable

With nothing more than the name Bluegrass Pawn, Gun, Gold, and Jewelry it makes me want to visit! Thanks to them for sponsoring the ammo. That is a darn good looking pistol Al. I do love a good 1911 and I would rather have a .45 but a 9mm sure would make ammo easier if not cheaper. At least in these times. Great shooting too. Definitely need to bring it out again once the rear sight is drifted.

For some of us older shooters, 9mm in the 1911 platform is kinder on our battered old joints...from a steel frame, like the Tisas, 9mm feels like shooting a
. 22 ..& even with those tiny G.I. sights, the Tisas is easy to fire accurate groups with...like all 1911's mine seemed to need a break in period...2-3 stovepipe in the first couple of hundred rounds & flawless after that...I've since bought a Springfield 9mm 1911 that I carry daily and I keep trying to convince myself to sell the Tisas BUT it's just such a great gun for the money, I honestly want to keep it, it makes a great truck gun and I can easily see my grandkids getting years of use from it...

I've got the same gun. I put thin bushings and grips on mine. Couldn't see the front sight so I put some yellow oil based paint on it. Seems to make a good poor man's gold bead. Might order some white to paint the rear sight but I'm not sure yet. Had to file a sharp spot on the underside of the grip safety but that was 20 seconds of work. I've got some rubber shock buffs ordered for mine. Seems to feel much better and still run great with them in.

Here's a true story bout this gun. One of my church kids bought a truck he could fix up and when he was old enough to drive it, he'd have himself the means to get to where he needed to go. This isn't your everyday kid. Ya see, he comes from a gun loving family, he's got a younger sister and brother. When Christmas and birthday roll around, him and his brother and sister get money, but instead of a bike from walmart or a skateboard or video games, they head down to the local gun store. I'm talkin 9, 12 and 15 years olds here. Now, all these guns are in dad's name, but it's the kid's money. Well the 15 year old was saving up for tires, and the one's he wanted cost $400 each. Well, one day he went to the gun store with his dad and lo and behold, this gun was on the shelf, so he asked his dad if he could see it. Well, once it was in his hand, The lite bulb in his head came on. He thought to himself, hum, tires are $400 each and I only have enough for 1, but this gun cost only $400 and since I can't drive yet, this gun would be a wiser purchase, so he told his dad, the tires can wait, and since his dad wasn't spending HIS money, maybe dad though it was a good investment as well..
Ya shoulda seen the smile on this lad's face showing me his new gun ! Almost brought tears to my eyes...

I have one. I have WWII copies of the A1 thumb safety, slide stop, hammer, trigger and arched MSH and replaced the ones on the Tisas with those.
I also had a GI replacement slide that the army used their A1s. Its commonly seen on the CMP 1911s.
The only thing left to do is have it refinished. Then it'll be closer to vintage 1911A1.
    I paid $350 for mine.

    Tisas Model 1911A1 U.S. Army.
My review, the finish is not true Parkerizing, it is a coating? The ejection port is lower than a USGI pistol. The plastic grips aren't up to G.I standards and are cut for a ambidextrous thumb safety. There is no groove on the mainspring housing on the area above the lanyard loop. The loop is bigger than your USGI loop, so it doesn't affect anything. The magazine well has a small bevel, where G.I pistols don't. My pistol has a nice trigger pull and is very tight, like a National Match pistol. The recoil spring guide doesn't have the punch hole. I paid $395.00 and tax. The Tisas is made in Turkey by a military contractor, It comes in a cardboard box with users manual, one magazine, barrel brush, brushing wrench and cleaning rod. It is imported by SDS Imports and has a 5 year warranty from date of purchase.
