While some of her comments re C# were a little misplaced there is no denying her individual contribution to Women's BB. I also give her props for being one of the first to actually reverse her opinion of C#'s game. It's not her fault that refs decided to ignore a similar technical foul to C# guess that's how it rolls when you been in the league that long. It's not all her fault that USA team management took her for a sixth pity gold She still has five genuine ones. I was surprised at the one MVP. She needs to retire. She hasn't been that good for the past 4 or 5 years. I think the only reason she keeps it going is to pad and extend her all time scoring lead, 8 to 15 points at a time. At this stage in her career, she shouldn't be starting. She has slipped to replacement bench caliber. Skills diminish. Even Michael Jordan would have faded if he played until he was 42 instead of retiring at 30. I know Taurasi was a GOAT, but she hasn't been that for a long time now.
Or because basketball is what she does. Everyone knows her scoring record will fall, players are scoring a lot more now and they’re continually increasing the number of games in a season.

And she didn’t even give CC the traditional rookie cheap shot so she must respect her or recognize it wouldn’t have went down well if she did 😆 I think it was the committee/coach they didn’t want a “circus” and didn’t find the way Clark plays useful to the way they planned to play. In a certain way I understand the decision ( I would have brought her anyways) though the team they picked was still poorly selected even if you aren’t taking Clark.
