  • Tigit Jon compares the Honda XR 150, Honda CRF 150 and Yamaha WR 150 in Vietnam.
    The three best 150cc dual-sports in Vietnam.
    A little bit of number crunching, but mostly just raw fun and enjoyment driving these three great motorbikes around in circles.
    The Yamaha WR 150 is the best machine, but is it worth the $3800 price tag?
    The Honda CRF 150 at $3200 used to be the best 150 in Vietnam, but does the WR 150 leave it in no man's land?
    The Honda XR, does it still hold its weight in gold at $2800, or is it time people started looking at spending more money and getting the better bikes.
    Within this video, we have a debate about fixing motorbikes and the issues of maintaining motorbikes without proper distribution.
    Check out the off-road gear we use to ride on our site: chrunix.com/enduro-adventure....

    hi jonathan, so I'm 13 and ive just had a suzuki ds80 and im trying to get into offroad dirtbiking but not to hardcore stuff I've found a really cheap XR150 for sale for about $500 nz dollars. Do you think that itwould be a good bike to start off roading. I know you already said it's good for begiiners but i think you were talking about adults so just wondering. Thanks heaps.

    • @Tigitmotorbikes
      @Tigitmotorbikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A point I miss in this video is that the XR150 has 17 inch back wheel. This means they are basically no tire chices.
      For this reason alone it is not a good choice of bike for getting into offroading.
      For plodding round a farm then sure, but if you actually want to "drive" then you need something better.

    I live in Indonesia and have the Yamaha MT15 (basically same engine as the WR, with some tuning differences I assume). I also have a CRF150L and of few months ago the new CB150X. As you can see i am a 150 "local" bikes guy. I just rode the WR for three days, I was really looking forward to it since I love the MT15 engine. Well this is where things went bit wrong for me with the WR and I would argue that for some it really is not the better bike. Since the engine comes out off a road bikes, it is not well suited for this type of bike, unless you go all out, rev it and keep it there. Not much happens below 5k or so, the engine lacks torque of the CRF motor. The variable valve timing does nothing judged by the seat of my pants. In my MT15 the engine is super refined, with the VVT you can feel the power continue to red line. In the WR engine produces, unpleasant, rod knock like noise around that 5K again. The first gear seems to tall for the low torque motor, I was doing lot more shifting riding the WR. Suspension, its still the the same inexpensive stuff, on my CRF with internal preload fork adjustment, thicker and bit higher oil level fixed the front end. In the back YSS shock. As for overall quality, the WR is bit cheap and unfinished in some areas. The passenger foot pegs don't have up locking provisions, just rely on friction of the bracket, side panels seem unfinished, exposing lots of the frame, electrical connections and such. There are hoses, thermostat, drain tubes all over the bike. Looking down at your dash, you get to look at exposed big electrical connection dust/rain cover........Yes there is lot more info on the cluster, yes there is a folding gear lever, nice touch. For all out speed/acceleration performance, yes the WR wins. But for tight trails, 'adventure" type of riding I think the CRF is not a bad choice. Last is the maintenance issue, CRF wins hands down. Air cooled, simple, valve lash adjustment is a 15 min job. It also features ingenious, centrifugal, internal oil filter, so oil change is 5 min. I really wanted to like the WR, but I will stay with the CRF.

      A lot of good points.
      And this is the reason Tigit has still not bought any Yamaha WR 155's. Infact, long term owners of the bike don't seem to particularly like it!
      I did pick up on the maintenance issue in this video (this video was at launch of the bike). I was correct, and people struggle to maintain it.

    • @weinosby
      @weinosby ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not think so, WR has a lot of power and torque than crf, I bought mine 2 months ago, I'm using it for hard trail, I just change the front sprocket to 13T boom a lot of torque coming out. one thing I like this bike has a liquid cooled. No worries in overheating. good for enduro and road

    Id rather go with the Hondas... Wr155 has lots of disadvantages on its category and its more expensive than the two, by the way mate, the XR 150 is more with an adventure dual sport type of bike... You shouldve only compared the Crf150l and the Wr155.

      I have pondered your question for a few days, and you have a point.
      Though, in my head, the statement is based around the idea of buying a WR450 or Suzuki DRZ second hand for around 3000/4000usd. But you are right, when it comes to a new bike. My argument falls flat.
