You know the tune because every sports stadium in the world has played this song…or the crowd has chanted it. It was unavoidable.
I love white stripes. Anything Jack White does is amazing
Jack White is a genius. This beat has become an anthem for football. You should also look up the Black Keys if you like this. OK Go is another great band you’d love. Look up their video for ‘Here it Goes Again.’ You’ll be shocked
Yes! The Black Keys have so many good songs. Good recommendation.
Amend that to **musical** genius. He's made some amazing music, but otherwise he's dumber than a box of rocks.
Ok Go is a great suggestion!
Two people making all that HUGE sound; INSANE! 🔥
It's hard to believe it's just him and his ex-wife. This was a pretty big song and very different when it came along. They really have some talent, another from this album is Ball and a Biscuit that really showcases their writing ability.
Seven Nation Army is played in every sports stadium in the world. From College football entrances (See: Penn State) to European Soccer clubs (See: Belgian team Club Brugge). I don't think you could have missed it through the years.
This is the biggest "come at me, bro" song I can imagine. And it's insane that it sounds so amazing and has so much energy with just one guitar and one set of drums. 🔥
I’m not sure if you noticed, the drummer, Meg White, is female. She is widely respected in the female drummer community (and beyond) as one of the tightest drummers around. The open hats in the chorus are genuinely 🔥. Love you & your channel, love from a lady drummer in 🇿🇦
You may appreciate another lady drummer named Nina "The Queena" Singh of the Canadian band Grady. th-cam.com/video/KQ0c_bQDf08/w-d-xo.html
I'm a drummer. She's TRASHED in the community. And all I ever say to those people is "FUCK OFF!!!"
She deserves MAD more respect than she gets from drummers. 💯
*This song is basically about gossip, the lies ppl tell, and the way ppl react to it all. It's also about the frustration of being stuck in the middle by having to watch and listen to ppl stab each other in the back. I've been in that situation (many have) where you have friends but those friends don't like each other. Then they come and complain to you about the other person but that other person is your friend too so you're stuck.*
Very interesting - have listened to this many times but never picked up on that. Great comment Preesh
Not even close.
@@Vejita12 "White recounted in greater detail to Rolling Stone's David Fricke where the lyrics came from: “Seven Nation Army started out about two specific people I knew in Detroit. It was about gossip, the spreading of lies and the other person's reaction to it." So go tell Jack White he's wrong about his own song....
@@stephanieclark9849that’s not what you said before you went on to add other stuff and your own interpretation to it how he said it could mean many things
I'm from the Detroit area original and I know that he uses the Michigan "hand map" to point at "Detroit" on his palm below his thumb when he sings "I'm going to Wichita far from this (soap?) opera for ever more" and that supports the original commenter. Jack said he left Detroit because of the infighting, jealousy and backstabbing, so yeah, could be.
This is one of my favorite songs!!! This beat and lyrics are deadly
It never matters which band or solo act he creates and produces, Jack is a genius!!.
True Chameleon ❤.
Speaking of MUST HEAR rockin' bangers with female drummers,, Lenny Kravitz "Are You Gonna Go My Way" (Official Music Video A MUST!!)
A MUST SEE/HEAR Track SPITTING BARS,, P.O.D. "Youth Of The Nation" (Official Music Video)
Everybody who goes to sports events know this song. Suggestions- Pulp - Common people, Brit pop from the 90s. The singer got into an argument with Michael Jackson.
I love Pulp! Most people don’t know them and I find that sad.
@@pennytipp she came from Greece she had a thirst for knowledge...
Pulp is amazing
This song is 🔥
Just guitar and drums. It's Jack's genius making it sound like a bass line. 🎶🎵
I heard that when Jack was young and someone was talking about the Salvation Army, he thought they said Seven Nation Army.
Pls react to LP, for more unique music, Lost on You live studio. It has over a BILLION views 💚
This and Ball and Biscuit show just how much music a two-person band can make.
You should try ‘Icky Thump’ by them next - that’s an amazing 🔥 song
Jack Whites inspiration for this song came from his childhood thinking that The Salvation Army was The Seven Nation Army!!!!
"Y'all up in my business". I think you hit the nail on the head. He points to Detroit on his Michigan "hand-map" (just below his thumb on his palm) when he sings he has to leave all the sh+t behind him for ever.
Live shows w jack white are always pumped. I’ve seen him a few times. But I think my favorite was when he was with the raconteurs. They have some great music, Jack had great music, the dead weather are pretty awesome too.
yo dude i like your reactions. i got one for you ....Funk#49.. by the james gang
Detroit in the house, that's where they're from. And they play this song in stadiums all over the world, because if you listen to the lyrics, sounds like there's an ass whoopin' coming. It's weird but the popularity of the song started in stadiums in other countries first, after its initial run on radio and topping charts, and since it began as a theme for soccer fans who didn't speak English, they called it the "po po po po" song, and they would just chant the guitar riff after they'd score. Sounds intimidating when a whole stadium does it. And the rest is history.
Jack White is pure Genuis! two people!
Great live music great band his guitar 🎸 playing live in concert is great song
Ball & A Biscuit FANTASTIC White Stripes song too. Might be a cover but awesome. Bluesy, sexy. Great.
he epitomizes Cappadonna right here. "even if i'm smoked out I can't be scoped out"
Dead Leaves on a Dirty Ground is pretty cool. Jack White is a real talent.
Best artist of the 21st century IMO.
marching bands like to play this at college football games
You’re correct! It was Triple G Gennady Golovkins ring walk song.
If you haven't seen and heard that one yet, i would suggest The Dead Weather - Will There Be Enough Water? (Live from The Roxy). He's playing the guitar there as well. Alison Mosshart sings together with him. It's an awesome song and video.
That was 🔥
Such a fun song on Rockband haha
My favorite part is the line "the message coming from my eyes says: Leave it alone."
It begs to be imagined while carrying with it a bold idea. Think about it! How is somebody telling somebody that with just their eyes!?
It's gotta be aggro or cold, something scary.
Excellent base line and guitar riff. Try Muse Uprising, Supremacy, Plug in baby, or any of their vast caralogue!
Fun fact... no (guitar) bass was used in the production of this song. He gets that sound from his regular old guitar.
Miss MEG.!! Is a super over looked drummer. But yaya she's my girl 🎶 tuffy
Im getting pumped up now
You gotta check out "Icky Thump" by them also!
Hey bro!! They're Jack White and his sister Meg. They're two genious!! Good reaction. Thanks. Greettings from Argentina
I love this song! It is so good!! If you want to hear another version of this, Voice Play has an acapella version out there that is really good as well!
This is one of my favorites from them.
Love to see it, fantastic song. It was huge when it came out.
Now let's see some King Crimson!
Evanescence - anything from their first album outside of what you have already done, but "Imaginary"!
My jam! Drumz!
You want iconic guitar lines? Try White Zombie "Thunderkiss 65"
White Stripes live in Blackpool is probably one of the best gigs i ever did see.
The country harmony group 'The Oak Ridge Boys' did a great cover of this, which I prefer to the original. The Oaks added a lot of musical depth to the song.
So this song is a sports anthem, it's used in all sporting events. Just listen out for it
Jack White. Try Carolina Drama by Jack and the Raconteurs. It is true and safe to say there is nobody like Jack White.
I think you’d really like their song “Blue Orchid.”
Woohoo!
he yells you straight out come and get me.
I really enjoy your take on this song it's one of my favorites. I think you would really the band Infectious Grooves. If funk and heavy metal had a baby infectious grooves would be it.
The song suggests to me the really common story of someone who left for the big city in search of fame and fortune but didm't like the price they had to pay for it and the disillusionment and alienation, and they return home to recover where things are real.
You could seriously just do a reaction to this entire album, it is a classic.
agree. i went to see this tour twice. so amazing live too.
Like to see you live versions of songs…people love live versions just saying! 😊
every stadium in the world.
It's Michael van gerwin the dart players walk on music
Love your content! I'd love to see your reaction to From Ruin We Rise by Shadow of Intent. Gotta have the lyrics with you when listening though!
This song gets played at sporting events a lot. When I read the title, knew you have heard some of it before.
I like your reactions. I think you would like King Crimson the song Elephant Talk. If you see the video from the show Fridays you can see how they make some of the “sounds” you will hear.
I loved your reaction and i totally agree with you. The song IS fire! They play this in sports game. I am a baseball fan and hear it all the time. They play it in football too. For 2 people they have made some amazing songs. Check out Ball and Biscuit!
7 notes in the main riff too
The Oak Ridge Boys do a good cover of this song
Solo es una canción ❤
Awesome reaction yet again. Id love to see you react to an Aussie band from the 70s Skyhooks "living in the 70s" a live version if you can plz & thank you. Peace Out ✌️
Check out The Hardest Button To Button. Another great song,
That expression you get when you realize you've literally heard the hook at every sporting event in the last decade.
I remember some other band he helped produce a song and they took the credit from him…. He shows up to the bands house and makes a raccoon outta him😂 real talk. Legend
Que noooo
Nooooo. Si la reina tieme la culpa ❤
If you listen to King Crimson, you gotta do Court of the Crimson King, and 21st Century Schizoid Man.
Request: Beastie Boys Sabotage LIVE on Letterman!
There is a college football team (can't remember which one) that uses this song when the team takes the field.
You may of heard a college marching band playing this at a game.
Please check out nofx seeing double at the triple rock
You should give a listen to Legendary by Skillet, another female drummer(and vocal back up) in a band.
i am right here
check out Goldfinger - Superman
try The Doors - L.A. Woman and Riders on the Storm
4:34 That was not part of the video. But these stutters happen on my PC too for some reason and I can't figure out why. 😅
THE DOORS
THE END
First Time Hearing The White Stripes ..., en que planeta viviste.
Just one drum and one guitar.
OCSC uses it
React to The White Stripes -Icky Thump
Bro, you've got to check out Fatboy Slim - Ya Mama. It's the most hilarious music video of all time!!
I'm sorry, I actually never heard this song when it came out. The first time I heard it was a cover from Post Modern Jukebox featuring Hailey Reinhart. I kind of prefer the cover....lol
Shon, I tend to have a negative impression of Gen Z because I'm an old ass man and a Marine but I think that you and people like you might solve the problem of racism in this country. Almost all hatred starts with not understanding and refusing to find the why of it. It's hard not to relate to someone that gets your favorite song the exact same way that you do even if they don't look nothing like you and /or come from where you come from. Plus, I like seeing someone listening something I take for granted with no preconceived opinions and like it as much as I do. Good job.
I recently discovered your channel and have watched a ton of your reactions and in the intro you always say to give a suggestion so here's mine and I really hope you will consider it. Any and all songs or videos by Nickelback, preferably Rockstar or Never Again or Animals thank you!!!❤
brother
Mars for the rich
Try the band Metric
Gold Girls Guns
Help I'm Alive
Gimme Sympathy
Every college football game plays it
Avenge Seven Fold: Hail To The King. it's a fire you up song
Try checking out other White Stripes hits Hardest Button to Button and Icky Thump.
Shon, check Warren G, regulators
The Simpsons did it... 2:09
Eventually you will be able to find a shirt ...
It's weird...back in the day they let people believe that they were brother and sister...some weird marketing strategy
