The White Stripes are from Detroit. "Seven Nation Army" morphed into a stadium chant during the 2006 World Cup when the Italians adopted it on their way to victory. The hook is catchy.

@@docsavage8640 Yep, in my opinion, he composes and plays rock, bluegrass, and country with style and was not a bad actor. Not too many people can do this with style, so "genius," but there may be a better word. I didn't think too hard about it when I said that. This song alone is played in stadiums worldwide at sporting events.

Legendary riff! This is the White Stripes biggest song and one of their best but not necessarily their best song. It's great, but they have so many other amazing songs that it's hard to point at one and say that is their best song. By the way, Jack doesn't play the bass, he plays all the guitar parts on one regular guitar. That is why he is called one of the greatest guitarists ever.

Glad you picked this. The White Stripes is just Jack and Meg White. Meg plays the drums. I hope you got to see the original video. It is as iconic as the song. Jack White is a phenomenal guitar player. There is a short special called " It might Get Loud" where he, The Edge (from U2) and Jimmy Page all talk about guitars and their different techniques. Jack White is a huge blues fan and a lot of his solo stuff goes that way. Also, Chris Cornell did a cover of this song here and it is a concert video.. it's a wild watch! It started at a Champions League football (soccer) game in Milan in 2003 between Club Brugge and AC Milan. The visiting Brugge fans were in a bar before the game and heard the song on the sound system. They turned the riff into a wordless chant. Brugge won the game and adopted the chant as the unofficial club anthem. In 2006, when Brugge played Roma, the chant was picked up by visiting Italian fans. And the rest is sports anthem history.

@@HarriBestReactions I do acknowledge that you are not based in the US, as most of the reactors I listen to are, and that you seem to get and appreciate the music when you do hear it. I just don't get how one could live in the western world for the past twenty years or so and not pick up a lot of it by osmosis. With many reactors I often find myself shouting at my screen, "How could you grow up in America, and not know...." It's in the air we breathe and in the dirt. It's played in the grocery store, in movies, on TV etc. When you say black music, I think Blues, Motown, R&B, Raggae, Gospel, early Rock & Roll, and Jazz. I love and listen to all that stuff, at least a little (not so much gospel, but I know who Mahalia Jackson, Sister Rosetta Tharp, and the Staples family are). I'm in my mid 50s, I was in High School when the Sugar Hill Gang dropped "Rappers Delight," and kicked off the rap and hip hop era. I don't care for rap and hip hop, but I've been alive throughout its history and I know at least some of it. It's not my thing, but every now and then something clever, or funny, or interesting bubbles up to the mainstream and I become aware of it. I may not know all the up and coming groups, or what the cool kids are listening to in the clubs, but I know a lot of the big names, big hits, and milestones along the way. You are in the UK, how can The Beatles, The Stones, The Who, or Pink Floyd come as a surprise?
If you told me that you grew up in a small village somewhere, and never saw a radio until you went to college, ok, I guess I'd understand that. Or, if you came from a strictly religious family, and weren't allowed to listen to secular music until you left home, that would make some sense to me.
I'm not picking on you personally Harri; I'm more astounded at how so large a cultural gap can really still exist, especially in this age of all invasive media. When I do find myself in an awkward moment vis-a-vis race, music and sport are the first place I go looking for common ground. I've always thought music is the universal language, but it seems to be less common than I thought.
All that said, if you are interested in learning about the music I love and grew up on; I am delighted to share with you what I know, and point you toward things I think you'll dig. Enjoy the journey my friend.

@@tahoemike5828 Beatles,Stones, etc dont come as a surprise. What comes as a surprise are most of the songs. You can know of a name but not familiar with their works. If you listen to mostly black radio..black tv stationss and black clubs, how u gonna know AC DC's catalogue?😁 You know all those black acts you mentioned, but i bet i know more of their stuff than you.I have never been to a rock concert in my life.
But thats gonna change now.Because thats the phase im in now.Everyone has a right to a choice of what they listen to.I wont laugh at you cos you dont know the trending hip hop song of today for example 😁😀

I no longer follow sports, but are you sure this is the chant? Or, does the old Atlanta Braves crowd chant sound close enough to confuse it?
