I dont know why iam not listenting these guys more often. this is actually the type of music i like the most - very melodic, still brutal, blast beats, good vocals. new album is great, but this band doesnt have a bad album, right. they deserve much more attention. you can see they make almost the same music since they have started and never sold out, they still deliver god dethroned music!
A really well written, mature effort by a veteran band. Not a single weak moment. Favorite track: Spirit of Beelzebub - the clean vocal chorus and the mid tempo break in the middle are too good!
Definitely a change of direction for this band but those tracks really stand out. I prefer Beelzebub and Satan Spawn as they sound more like their old Bloody Blasphemy days.
I was worried about how this album would stand up to " The World Ablaze" because I adore that album. Needless to say I'm very pleased, this new album is fantastic!!
Was looking up The Grand Grimoire to give it a spin on youtube and relive some old memories just to stumble upon this new album. Will be purchasing. Now if we could get them to tour with The Crown , The Absence, and Black Dahlia Murder in the USA I can die a happy man. Maybe just exclusively play Nascar events. Would be a good soundtrack to high speed crashes, burning vehicles and excessive drinking. Stay safe, wash your hands, and all hail God Dethroned!

So they went back to religious themes after three albums about war. It's back to the roots, even though I felt their crushing but still melodic style fitting perfectly with singing about the horrors and hopelessness of war (I still adore the Passiondale album so much!). It's just that their lyrics sound a bit dull on this record compared to bands like, say, Behemoth. They despise christianity, the bible, the church etc., I'm okay with that. But in 2020 this doesn't get to me on the same level as it did 10, 15 years ago. Songs like "Poison Fog" or "On The Wrong Side Of The Wire" just resonate on a whole different level, because they're about real life hell, not some horror fairytales made up by the church to control the masses and make money. It's the band's choice of course, just my opinion. I still really like "Book of Lies", "Gabriel" or "Eye Of Horus" though. Feel free to discuss! :)
the spiritual concepts are applicable to the bible since we live in the times of revelation. But I see what you mean about the specifics of what is being discussed.
I can respect your beliefs but personally I can't live my life being paranoid and monitoring my actions according to a god that probably doesn't exist. You shouldn't need religion to know that you should be a good person. To each their own I suppose.
