We bought a new 2018 Edge, 4 cyl. Turbo, 4WD, SEL, "Metal Blue", Black Chrome trim, 19" rims, touch screen pkg. Even the kids think it's cool looking. Rides relatively quiet and firm, plenty of acceleration yet 30 mpg if you stay off the boost, great upgraded sound sys., easy to get in and out, love that "windows down" feature you just showed me, (SoCalif) thx! We purchased it near the end of 2019, someone ordered it never bought it, (basically loaded except no moon-roof or lighted cup holders, that's fine with me) kept inside, had 30 miles on it...$32k OTD (sticker price was $42k :- ) Zero issues so far, it's the wife's car, driven easy...I open it up once in a while, impressive response to just one inch of pedal too, no turbo lag!.... Bottom line____ we love it.
Just traded in my Durango which I bought in my 30’s prior to kids, now that I’m 40 with kids I became an adult and got an Edge. I was looking at/considering Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, or even a Taurus. To me, this car is like half taurus half grand Cherokee if that makes sense lol. Enjoying it so far and happy with the deal I got 👍. Just hoping for some reliability- as I still refuse to buy a Japanese brand.
I traded in my 2018 Edge for a 2022 Edge about six months ago. The 2018 had about 75000 miles and the only problem I had was the waste gate on the turbo busted (was fixed under warranty). Keep up with the maintenance and hopefully you won’t have any issues. 👍
@@georgeoncars663 Thanks George! Problem is my cars take a beating driving in NYC traffic. But I always do my best to take care of them. Great video thank you
@@clint0072 wow! I was literally just driving into work today reviewing the year! Brother- absolutely nothing! Drives incredible! Bought mine with 49,000 miles, has 62,000 miles now. Not a flicker of electric, not a noise, not a ping - nothing! Fantastic car! All I’ve done is oil changes and tire rotations! Highly recommend!!
I have the 2018 Titanium version and I have enjoyed everything about this car. I purchased it early 2019 with 26.000 miles for $ 29.000 and now it has 72.000 miles with no problems. I have the basic service through the years and now I change brake fluid and engine filter. I hope it continues to be a reliable car for un other few years.😊😊😊
He forgot to mention the TSB 19-2172 that warns of a potential cracked engine block at around 60,000 miles. It ia out of warrantee and costs $7,000. Be warned, it happens a lot!
NHTSA has 226 complaints regarding the blown engines “coolant intrusion” mine is a $8000 fix. It’s a design flow on the ecoboost. There is also a class action law suit out of CA for this.
Thanks for making this great video George. Really enjoyed it, i am actually looking for used car and this is my top choice. Ford is implacable in this category. By the way, just subscribed to you channel my friend.
Great video. We just bought one today. We should have watched your video before committing, but we were relieved by your positive review. Nice plug for Sick Kids.
There's a 2018 Edge 3.5L V6 for sale near me with only 25k miles and they're asking for only $24k. Problem is, even with an 804 credit score, the lowest loan rate I could get was 8.2%. I am so tired of the 12 idiots of the federal reserve destroying our economy!
Until Ford fixes the bad design on the water pump on the 3.5 I wouldn’t get one. I have a 2013 model and I’m scared to death of a water pump failure. $2000 repair.
I was hoping someone would bring up that nasty water pump issue. You have to remove the timing chain to replace the water pump. Scotty Kilmer did a video on these cars.
Such a good review. I’m thinking of buying an SEL trim 2019 model with 37,000 miles for 24,500. I test drove it yesterday and thought it ran well and it has all the modern tech safety systems. Do you think it’s a good deal? No accidents and it’s off a lease, so it has all the maintenance records and well taken care of. Also, thanks for thinking of the children. I have a son with SMA and it means the world to me when people acknowledge children with disabilities instead of all these modern elective surgery nonsense. And lastly, the person that commented on your clothes in these comments doesn’t know what comfortable is. Keep it up. This was my favorite review so far of this car!!!!
Hi Dave thanks for the feedback. I’m not sure about the price, but I know used car values have come down quite a bit lately. I’d check AutoTrader and some other websites to see what an Edge with similar options and mileage is selling for. Might try Kelly blue book too? Good idea to make sure the maintenance is up to date. Good luck with your purchase. 👍

We like our 2019 Ford Edge that we bought used in 2021. Very peppy two litre engine.the only thing I don’t like about this vehicle is the traction control. It has taken me to the middle of many a snowy spot and left me stuck for no reason at all. In snowy conditions disable the traction control as with it active it acts more like a two wheel drive than an all wheel drive.
Anyone thinking of purchasing an Edge would find this video helpful. Another fantastic video for a great cause!

Great video. Very informative and well done. Would love to see more videos like this that rate other popular used/new cars. Perhaps your top 5 ?
Once used an edge i can't think of going to any other vehicle. It has the balance of good power, utility and space.

The Ecoboost engine option was the problem engine, just get the 3.5 and none of the issues.
