Thanks for the footage. What a treat. I started collecting baseball cards in 1967-68 and instantly became a Cards fan. Tim McCarver was my favorite. Was also a fan of Mike Shannon (3rd Base) and Bob Gibson. Finally made it to Busch Stadium in 1972.

I was there... well, later in that season, at Busch Stadium for a Cardinals-Braves game. I turned 10 that summer and adored the Cards!

Thank you for uploading this gem of a video. I’m not a Cards fan, but I am a fan of old ballparks and all things classic MLB. For the era, the visual quality is excellent. It really makes you feel like you were there in that moment.

This game is between the Phillies and the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The Phils made three visits to Busch in 1968 (May, July and Sept). Ray Washburn (44) is the Cards pitcher, and I assume the starting pitcher. Woodie Fryman (22) is the Phillies pitcher. They both started the game on May 26, 1968. Final score: Phils 9 Cards 3.

Lou Brock seems to have been given the day off or is injured. He did play the next game.

No opposing batter would be laughing - or they'd pay the price once they face Bob on the mound. 😀

The footage is priceless. I had to mute it almost immediately though. The music is sappy, distracting, unnecessary and really takes away from this great baseball footage. Either add stock audio or leave it silent.

    No description of game itself?

I got a film from the president of a sports maker. The answer was that I didn't know anything because it happened in my parents' time.
