Takes me back to childhood memories of visiting Birmingham. I would have been seven and moving from infant to junior school in 1977!

I've just spent an afternoon in and around the city centre. I won't be rushing back. The changes are very disappointing. I'm not sure of the city of a thousand trades, more like a city of a thousand languages. Enough said.

新幹線工事前の国鉄時代の駅ですね、懐かしい。 現在の宇都宮テラスあたりは線路だらけ、西口のトナリエあたりも国鉄関連の建物がたくさん建ってますね。

黄桜の看板がある一角は今もそのままですね。もうすぐ再開発で高層ビルになってしまいますが、ほかにも今でも残っているビルが散見されます。いくつも再開発計画が挙がっているので、この頃に建てられた建物も次々と生まれ変わって消えていくんでしょうね…。

1940年代に日本でプロレス興行はありません。 その前の20年代や30年代ならありましたが。 映像を見ると、阿部修さん(最初のヒゲの選手)やユセフ・トルコさん(レフェリー)がおられたので日本プロレスで間違いないと思います。ハロルド登喜さんか駿河海さんらしき人もいます。日本プロレスは1954年以降に興行をしているので、それ以降の試合です。

この時代にしてはタバコの吸い殻ポイ捨てが少なく、路上が自分の思ってた以上にきれいだ。 もしかして掃除直後だったのかもしれないけど。 今の駅前喫煙所周辺よりむしろきれいに感じる。

Very nostalgic. I was a passionate Cardinal fan in '67 and '68. Our family traveled 300 miles to St. Louis in August of '68 to watch them play vs. the Braves. Seeing Cepada, Brock, McCarver and others in this film was so cool! Not sure who the pitcher was. Maybe Nelson Briles?

I worked in the indoor market hall in the 70s. Rowleys butchers, great days, but sadly they’ve gone, could see the decline so moved out of brum to the Cotswolds mid 80s, from what I hear about it now glad I did .
