The Spout is located near Bay Bulls, on the east coast of Newfoundland.
It is a naturally occuring geyser. A small river runs to the ocean through a hole in the rocks and as the waves push the sea water to the shore, it forces the fresh water from the river to reverse up through the hole in the rocks and the water forms a geyser or spout.

Well Fred, Thanks so much for the kind words. I try to upload a new video about every month. Most are outdoor related videos. I'm glad you enjoyed the camera work. I took about 1.5 to 2 hours of video and then edit it to where it is now. I enjoy doing this. Thanks for watching and commenting..........Take care, Bluefin.

Thanks for posting all these videos! I'm about to head up to do a week on the East Coast Trail in early August. I found your first video on a hammock forum because I'll be hammock camping, and since then all these videos have been so helpful to prepare for the different terrain, challenges, and natural wonders. Cheers!

    Hey Foxr6,
My sleeping bag is actually a custom made hammock topquilt from Hammockgear. It is a 20* Burrow Topquilt for hammocks. It is 900 fill power down and weighs in at about 17 ounces. Keeps me toasty warm I have used it in my tent a few weeks ago.
    Take care,
    Bluefin

I'm thinking of doing this hike in the next few weeks. What is the availability of water, and how far from Shoal Bay Rd is the campground? Is it permissable to set up camp anywhere you want along the trail or are you restricted to the provided sites?

Stephen, the campsite is located about 5.5 to 6 km from the end of Shoal Bay Road. Once you reach the coast at the end of the "road" there are several streams to get water from. I filter my water just to be sure it is good. I would recommend this. You could also treat the water with Aquamira pills available from Canadian Tire. Also a good idea to buy a map of that section of the trail from the East Coast Trail Association. Maps are available for the whole trail or can be bought in single sections. As for camping, I would check the East Coast Trail website for info just to be sure. I think you could stop anywhere but practice "leave no trace" The provided campsites have several tent platforms, a water source very close and outdoor toilet. I hope this helps you and feel free to ask more questions if you need. I hope you enjoy your hike....Take care, Bluefin.
