Which I found out isn't the case as a ryzen 3 1300 gets completely destroyed by a i3 10100 since there's more to it than just the process used.
Great video! We’re you running the Ryzen on boost overdrive or manual? Also those temps look very nice on the Ryzen I’m assuming you have it water cooled?
10900k costs 500 euros and 5900x costs 600 euros. I dont see a reason to go for 5900x really. Maybe 5% of people will use it for blender but I dont care since I use GPU for blender rendering and it is much faster than CPU rendering. Amd messed this line up with the high price :(
@@beedoox5613 Well ofc if the price is the same , or in favor of AMD, the AMD is better. Especially in your country where the price difference is that big. However, 100 euros in my country is not something I would pay over the 5900x. Maybe few months later the price will be better. I dunno.
Very nice. Thank you for this. Any reason for the micro stutter on the Intel for Red Dead Redemption 2? It's most obvious around 00:45 to 00:50. It almost looks like its video was captured at 30fps, and the AMD's at 60fps.
What I noticed about this comparison other than the FPS being almost the same for most games , us the fact that the Ryzen 5900 was using around 10% less CPU than the Intel 10900 giving the AMD the ability to multitask way better than the Intel CPU.
Test old games again. Zen 3 vs Zen 2 vs 10th gen. And do a Ryzen 5 65W showdown (1600 vs 2600 vs 3600 vs 5600... and maybe 4650G if you have one just for fun :D )
So, very similar performance. Could we do the same race but both running overclocked (no special coolers, liquid nitrogen etc. , just multipliers as far as they'll go while stable)? Also the power draw would have been interesting to compare on the 5900X.
I have a question on Project Cars - 0:56 I see that the i9 is racing smoother than the ryzen? Is it just me or is the ryzen have some trouble there idk
Its called fanboy-ism. Even when amd wasnt on par with intel, in fanboys eyes amd was still winning. Same for intel or anything else really that one is a huge fan of. They will allways find a reason for "X" is better than "Y" even if its not.
I'm not a fanboy but this is still a RIP Intel moment. Amd has destroyed Intel at production tasks since ryzen first gen, the only claim Intel had to fame was gaming. Now they're in a situation where they're not getting new chips out before the holidays and amd is better in every situation outside of gaming and on par in gaming.... It depends, because 8 core is good for future heavy games, also more multitasking response performance and smoothness everywhere, even in games a part from just raw fps. But yeah atm and for maybe next 3 years this cpu for gaming seems amazing.
@@Klasus357 Unfortunately 5800x got thrown under the bus to sell more 5900x's. Intel actually has a pretty good position for gamers who just want a good eight core especially if you live near a microcenter

What this doesn’t show is stutters. In high frame rate 1080p gaming, where the CPU and Dram is taxed, Intel is still generally a more stable choice. It isn’t AMDs fault...blame the motherboard manufacturers. They simply don’t spend the time optimizing chipset and ram controllers on AMD boards as they do Intel. Ever wonder why AMD CPUs are so finicky when it comes to certain ram brands/clock speeds? This, hopefully, will improve in time.
What people dont realize is AMD will greatly outperform intel in video editing and streaming, essentially multicore stuff. And on top of this its the same performance for games designed to run in less cores. Amd just gives you a lot more, its the same for gsming but amd is way ahead in other heavy duty multicore stuff
For gaming go with Ryzen 5600X it is similar the i9-10900K but cost like half, if wish work and gaming go with Ryzen 9 3900X, if wish only the better CPU go with Ryzen 9 5900X, if wish save money in a budget pc go with Ryzen 5 3600.
Checking your test system it appears you're using two sticks of RAM but Zen 3 really prefers 4 sticks. Could you try it again with 4 sticks? Perhaps make another video comparing the already benchmarked 2 sticks with new 4 stick benchmarks?
the usage is lower bcs it has 2 more cores. Many games only use 4 cores so for amd it is 4/12 and for intel it is 4/10. 4/10 is a bigger fraction so the usage is bigger. As for the temps, you are not wrong
i9 and Ryzen 9 are similar performance but Ryzen 9 is more expensive however then again i9 consumes more power and motherboards for Ryzen chips are cheaper on top of that with a Ryzen chip and GPU combo u get access to rage mode which boosts ur performance by about 5 to 10 percent for free so ide say Ryzen has a pretty fair edge (~5-10% better at gaming in most circumstances considering it uses less power) and its already way ahead in productivity so please just buy from Ryzen. (Also the Ryzen 5 doesn’t have a price difference with intel so if ur going for a more mid range or budget pc then definitely go AMD) Price: Even Gaming: Ryzen, not huge but noticeable Work/Everyday Tasks: Ryzen, by a landslide Power Consumption: Ryzen, by a landslide Overall: Ryzen, by a good ammount
the best decision i ever made is to return the 5900x... i wish i watched the video a lot closer to see the lag , after returning my 5900x , i will buy the i9 10900x
I would recommend you for ryzen 9 5950x as if you see the CPU uses the extension ryzen 9 5950x is less if you use it 100 percent you will get nearly 210 fps as then i9 10 that genuinely will give you nearly 190 fps
It’s pretty straight forward. Anything utilizing more than a couple threads is better off with Ryzen. Also consider if you do anything other than play games, it’s not close. You can load all cores on a ryzen (which in of itself is difficult to do) and still play these games at the same time and probably get similar FPS.
1:58 why do you show me AVG: FPS for some games and not for all? Also, why you show games and never specify the actual names of those games? Big dislike for inconsistency and missing information ...
Still the difference is not that much if u want to game in a budget it will be 10900k They both deliver almost the same performance in game Unless u wanna edit or render stuff 5950x will be your choice
5950x having 4 more cores than 5900x doesn't improve gaming performance. Both have more than enough cores for gaming. Only single core performance matters.
Now the fun part is that the ryzen cpu cost 50$ more than intel, but as we can see its about the same fps. So is intel then turning into the budget option?

thats because they tested the chip by changing the graphics option to medium settings in their game., in 1080p.But this guy used ultra Graphics settings In 1080p it is cpu bound especially if you lower your graphics settings. Thats why 2500k survived for like 8 years. Because players on those days used only 1080p, unlike current gamers shifting to 1440p and above. Also note that the cpu is best tested when in 720p AND by changing the graphics options to low. Thats how you test the CPU.
I've been on intel side since AMD released phenom, and i really thought that AMD will win this benchmark and that it will give something worth switching to them in high end gaming, but it won in some games by only 1fps. Maybe you should bench cpu on low settings so they'll be more cpu intensive?
they act equally but when ur real of high fps u should wait 2-3 month for i9-11900K - 18% IPC improvements from i9-10900K and with a highly OC 2080 Ti (3070 oc or 3080 FE) ull get at mainly any game ~240Hz | then comes SAM for Nvidia (its Pcie bound) and ull get another 5-10 fps depends on the coded game
There’s also the fact 10900k can disable hyperthreading for only one core and rest run in HT, can amd do that - it should effectively doble the single core performance? But also it was said it’s like faster, not just same
you can also use pbo and ram tunning for ipc increase on ryzen. i just hope that in 5 years they will both still compete each other, so that when i upgrade again from my 3700x, it will hopefully be a nice bump in performance, like 3 digit% ipc increase...
